I've never been as inspired to start sewing menswear as I am after Duane's interview! I know I can, I just never tried. My hubby is pushing me to use him as my model, and I'm pushing him to sew! Lol! I know once I start making him things, I'll have no room for my own sewing!Lol!

I just found this youTube today! What an excellent interview and thank you so much for opening another direction for me. I've been sewing since I was 8 years old -- I am now 73. The last few years I have begun to be more connected with the quilting community as I was't finding clothing groups that were interesting to me. I sew for my granddaughter so I got interested in some children's indie pattern groups and blogs, but I couldn't find anything that really helped me with some of my sewing dilemmas or interests. I look forward to becoming subscribed to this group and learning more about sewing for myself@ The pattern companies -- that is the Big 4 -- seem to have very few patterns that will fit me! They develop tall patterns, petite patterns, full bust adjustments -- but what about the "petite" person who wears a size 20 or 22? They don't exist so I have ended up making awful clothing for myself that just doesn't fit -- nor is it in any way, "flattering". Then again perhaps there is no way of developing flattering patterns for a rectangle ....... Thanks for your introduction to this group. I will be following them.

I'm a newcomer here, thank you very much for taking your precious time to impact knowledge on this platform, it is a privilege. I'm so glad to have stumbled on your channel and I just subscribed. I've started reading this book, the only challenge I have is the mathematical aspect, I understand how to read a tape but it takes it to another level. If you can please kindly do a video on this explaining the mathematical part, I'll be so grateful. Thank you.🤗😁

I am happy you enjoyed the review of the book. I have seen the book on the thriftbooks website before although it is still not a cheap book. Although you might find cheaper patternmaking books out there I do not think there are any as comprehensive as this one for someone who is learning how to create and manipulate patterns. This is just my opinion from my experience - I cannot guarantee that everyone would agree with me - and I hope it helps you. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to leave a comment.

Unless of course you MAKE said jeans and t-shirt Liz. It's jaw dropping for alot of people who DON'T sew when they find out something someone is wearing has been hand made. I have had that myself on many occasions. In alot of ways, it just is a reminder that this is to many, a forgotten skill because we have become reliant on ready to wear for our clothing. This is a great interview, all tech issues aside.
