Russia is not actually on the train but owns the railway infrastructure, along which the train is travelling and the energy supplier to the overhead lines. Turkey(my name is Türkiye OK!!), also not on the train, is the bored, wayward teenager by the tracks mooning and flipping the bird at everyone on the train.

If they classed the viola as a lead instrument, they would sell more, and rightly so.

And nowadays there's no excuse, with every other instrument available in every key and tuning. There was even a flat session on Mondays in Limerick when k lived there! I know wind players used to complain in the past, at sessions, if fiddlers and box players would do G minor or flat tunes. Lol. But plenty of pipes and flutes have keys and chanters, tuned appropriately, and whistles are available always in every key.

@@erikm8372 trad session violinists will refuse to play tunes a fifth down even if it's still in their range and their fingerings are *exactly the same.* So I as a violist do all the shifting and/or learning different fingerings to play a full octave down just so I can fit in.
