Thank you for this honest review. There are many reactions online similar to your sentiments. Unfortunately on KZread I've noticed it's mostly fawning uncritical sycophantic ones. Yours was a breath of fresh air. I love how you said it seemed like an SNL sketch gone awry. I also will finish it but I made it through 7 so I will see it through. But I fell asleep and had to go figure out where I fell asleep to it. Episode 7 just seemed to drag on. There are moments of superb acting but the writing / plot leave much to be desired. I think Carole Burnett, Allison Janney and Bruce Stern were the best so far and I love Laura Dern, especially in Big Little Lies, but some of her characters' plot and dialogue are so absurd it takes away from her performance. Also there's a whole heck of a lot of some sort of anti-aging cinematography which is off-putting at times.

Watched the 1st 2 episodes (I might have started the 3rd), but I agree with your sentiments and the cast is great and their talents are definitely being underutilized. Hoping it picks up or I’ll have to tap out lol. Kristen Wig is doing so well with her acting that I am genuinely getting 2nd hand embarrassment when she’s on the screen like it’s definitely cringey seeing her character being so desperate to fit in where she clearly isn’t wanted.

I’m 1.5 episodes in, and I can’t see having the patience to keep going, slow burn or not. It’s not funny (apparently it’s not a comedy anyway), but it’s also not interesting. It just seems like a waste of talent. If you’re feeling that way at episode 3, I think that’s all I needed to know!

IDK I just finished the first 4 episodes and the fact that it’s a slow burn is actually what I love about it, there’s a bit of mystery, and intrigue about it all. I also am loving Kirsten’s character, I think the fact that she just keeps moving forward makes her extremely relatable. Her character is completely unhinged in an Oliver Quick so of way. I also loved the touches of humour within the drama of the story. It’s definitely more of a dramatic parody than a full on drama and one that’s going to unfold like an onion as the series progresses. It has a sort of Real Housewives trainwreck type quality to it.

Hayden Christensen being back for season 2 makes this soooo much better knowing that we’re gonna see him again in an extended plot to lead Ahsoka and Sabine through the world between worlds back to Thrawn and Ezra for the battle that they ultimately lose, but so does Thrawn.

Totally agree with you. I was so looking forward to this new series. And the 1st three episodes kind of fell flat. I do think it's supposed to be sort of a dramedy. Maybe because the characters are so completely absurd but don't realize it themselves? Really hope it gets better.

So Anakin in the world between worlds ~ only powerful force users can appear fully in there, but it also might just be the force or Ahsoka’s perception of him. But him as a force ghost ~ that’s actually him as a force ghost for the first time since Return of the Jedi special addition. It was him in the world between worlds too, but that can be interpreted multiple ways because Vader/Anakin has already died. So him appearing there is because he’s also the balance between the dark and light ~ which is the legacy of the chosen one. Wanted you to know! There’s some thought that Anakin can lead them through the world between worlds to Thrawn, since they can’t use the Pergils to return. That’s the reason he’s back.

When Huyang said *Looks like you were a good student* to Ezra I was like "Well... most of the time haha, he could be a handful occasionally" 🤣🤣 I'm excited to see you watch the start of his Jedi Journey when you eventually start Rebels What a ride haha, Same I was nearly brought to tears when I realized he was building Kanan's lightsaber, when I saw the Disc part around it's top I instantly recognized it, a very distinctive Lightsaber Model. I definitely hope Ezra Trains Jacen that'd be such a sweet thing to see and that would definitely make Kanan Proud and I feel like they'd be such a fun Pair Jacen seems very enthusiastic mixed with a bit of cheekiness about Jedi stuff and Ezra's a bundle of jokes and fun so they'd be perfect for each other, but the obstacle would be getting Hera's Approval, after what happened to Kanan she's obviously very fearful on Jacen starting down that path because a Jedi's life is all about sacrifice and putting others before yourself and no Mother wants to see their child do that.

Only three comments before mine? Strange. I told You this One was a banger! I get the feeling Thrawn's cargo will gain more importance on Dathomir than it ever did on Peridea. Especially with the Great Mothers involved. A thing I noticed in the episode was when Morgan Elsbeth mentioned that the Stormtroopers who stayed behind to delay our heros were volonteers and that They were made aware. I take this as more proof of the down-right cult-like atmosphere that seems to have developed between Grand Admiral Thrawn and his crew. I mean think about it: these guys have been stranded on an alien, extra-galactic world for about a decade since their exile with no way to contact their families, friends and loved ones. No way to contact the Empire to request a rescue party. No more reinforcments, new supplies and way to keep themselves updated on the state of the Empire as a whole. Add to this the hostile natives, unfamiliar wildlife and fauna and those creepy Nightsisters and their soucerous Dark Magick and they'll all flock to the only source of authority they have: Mitth' raw nuruodo. I'de been suprised if this didn't turn out to be the case!

I think that Thrawn will play a key role in the soon-to-be First Order gaining a foot-hold in the Unknown Regions of the galaxy. Likely with the aide of Former-Commandant Brendol Hux, who would be the founder of the First Order's Stormtrooper Corps.

Also I haven't seen it mentioned. When Asoka says she will not fight Anakin, and he replies, "I've heard that before.", it was reference to when he fought Luke in Return of the Jedi. It is a subtle reference that Anakin is really here as a force ghost because Asoka would have no knowledge of what was said on the 2nd Death Star between Darth Vader and Luke.

One of Ezra's traits is that sometimes he talks more than he needs to which can occasionally lead to him awkwardly rambling or stumbling his words at inappropriate times 🤣 I love that when Shin ordered the troops to shoot the both of them Ezra shouts *Wait!* then awkwardly starts improvising & tried to talk their way out of it until Ahsoka pulled up. Your face during that little moment was hilarious and spot on 😂 even Sabine turned her head like "Wtf?!" 😂 when I watched this for the first time I was like "Ahh yep! there's the Ezra I remember growing up" 🤣

By the way, I think you meant the future First Order, not Palpatine's Sith Eternal fans. Very few people in the Galactic Empire's government and military knew he was a Sith Lord. Even less that the Sith Eternal even exists in both the Empire and the First Order. Even the Inquisitors were secretly ridiculed and despised by more traditional Imperial officers and government officials. I recomend to you a video entitled: " The Terrifying repeutation of the Royal Gaurds: Star Wars Lore" by the channel "The Lore Guy".

If she'd just rolled with it and fully embraced her heretige, it would certainly make the whole idea of forging One's own Destiny and not letting the Sins of your Forebarers bind You to a path that is not of your own choosing feel much more meaningfull. Anyone else notice that weird cargo that Thrawn's troopers are diligently loading into the Chimera's hangar bay? Morgan mentioned having seen the catacombs and that the transfer will take at least three ratations. That was likely where the Great Mothers were storing it prior the confirmation of them leaving Peridea thanks to the Eye of Sion. A day has already passed by the time Ahsoka arrived and has likely transpired throughout the current episode, time-wise speaking, meaning that by the following day (or next episode to us) they'll attempt a departure.

Episodes Six and Eight. Trust me the next one is epic. Thrawn is one heck of an anti-hero in my opinion. Sure, he's on the antagonist's side, but just look at his leadership! Without the constraints of the Imperial Navy, ruling class and especially the Emperor breathing down his neck he could seriously pose to the New Republic's Navy an existential threat. He'll wipe the floor with those guys! Once you're done reading the Ascendancy trilogy there's also that Thrawn trilogy that chronologicly came out before the one you're reading right now. Who's your favorite non-Thrawn Chiss so far? Please let me know.

@@IDKWhatToWatch Oh. Sorry for misunderdtanding your statement. I feel it's pretty lazy though, to just ressurect these charecters when the writters run out of original ideas for a story. It makes Anakin's redemption pretty pointless.

@@IDKWhatToWatch I also think that in that scene where that old lady asks Rey: " Rey Who?" and She replies: " Rey Skywalker." I feel She should have just said "Rey Palpatine." If she'd just rolled with it and fully embraced her heretige, it would certainly make the whole idea of forging One's own Destiny and not letting the Sins of your Forebarers bind You to a path that is not of your own choosing feel much more meaningfull. What do you think?
Anyone else notice that weird cargo that Thrawn's troopers are diligently loading into the Chimera's hangar bay? Morgan mentioned having seen the catacombs and that the transfer will take at least three ratations. That was likely where the Great Mothers were storing it prior the confirmation of them leaving Peridea thanks to the Eye of Sion. A day has already passed by the time Ahsoka arrived and has likely transpired throughout the current episode, time-wise speaking, meaning that by the following day (or next episode to us) they'll attempt a departure.
Episodes Six and Eight. Trust me the next one is epic. Thrawn is one heck of an anti-hero in my opinion. Sure, he's on the antagonist's side, but just look at his leadership! Without the constraints of the Imperial Navy, ruling class and especially the Emperor breathing down his neck he could seriously pose to the New Republic's Navy an existential threat. He'll wipe the floor with those guys! Once you're done reading the Ascendancy trilogy there's also that Thrawn trilogy that chronologicly came out before the one you're reading right now. Who's your favorite non-Thrawn Chiss so far? Please let me know.
I just finished book 2 of the Ascendancy trilogy! I'm kind of liking Admiral Ar'Alani's character as well as Thalias! Looking forward to finishing the trilogy!
@@IDKWhatToWatch I also liked the relationship between Ch'eri and Thalias, almost a Mother-Daughter bond. But, yeah: Ar'Alani and Wutroow kick all kinds of alien butt on the battlefield!
I also liked how someone like Thrawn baisicly was like a flight instructor for Ch'eri and helped her get rid of her re-occouring nightmares.
