Hi, my name is Camilla. I’m Italian, from Lake Como, but I live in Scotland, as I’ve got Scottish origins and it’s a country I love profoundly.
From this channel you can expect travel videos about my journeys, mostly solo and on a medium budget.
I believe that the feelings that come with travelling are what life is worth living for.
The goals of my videos are to entertain, share interesting facts and perhaps inspire you to travel somewhere.

What a contrast! I hope you don't mind, but at the start of the video you seemed stressed and anxious ( only my opinion) . In another life I used to drive from Keith in NE Scotland to Newcastle, ferry to Rotterdam , then drive to Frankfurt - although I did share the driving. I found the most stressful thing was the change of driving on the left, to the right side of the road. I hope you took the upper bunk on the ferry 😄! In contrast , once you were off tge ferry in Europe you became the delightful " stravagante/estroso Camy, and " bursting" for a service station is VERY Scottish 😅😅. Thank you for making me smile again. And a Nessie fridge magnet on a Danish ship??

Hello there! :) You can pay with a cheque or with a postal order. I paid at the post office with a postal order when I went to send everything away!

Another wonderful video. You certainly do get about, and that is some drive. I just wish I was able to do it, but unless I win the lottery there is absolutely no choice of even getting a suitable vehicle. I do now have a mobility scooter, but limited to how far I can go with that, lol. Every Sunday morning I sit here at the computer, patiently waiting to see if you're going a video, as I've mentioned before they're the highlight of my week. And when you do post, I'm never disappointed. As I've done since seeing the first one, I shall now download this and put it with all the others. It's much better than getting guide books. Thanks again for giving me something to look forward to.

I want to travel across Italy (and Japan) to explore all the diffrent type of food you have there. You should tasted the "norwegian pizza" they are bad, but that is what we have. So much bad pizza resturants here in Norway

@@camyinwonderworld Yeah, our Grandiosa frozen pizza is the most sold pizza about 24 millions a year i think. That is what are grown up with we dont know better. I want Napolitana, al taglio, Romana etc
Everyone is surprised when I say this, but we do have frozen pizza in Italy too and personally I like some brands (Pizza Ristorante). I tried pizza in Naples for the first time last summer, it’s really something different… I live in Scotland and in Glasgow Paesano Pizza makes an incredible wood oven Neapolitan pizza 💯
@@camyinwonderworld How do you rate Ristorante? We have that here also. Want good pizza with fresh ingridens, fjordilatte, nduja, pruscuitto etc. My favorite pasta is Tagliolini alla San Daniele. Antonio Sorrentinos (Italian Sequista on yt) lasagna etc.
@@philip4588I actually like Ristorante, my favourite one in Italy was the tuna and onion, but I can’t find it here in Scotland. Yes fresh ingredients are definitely better, if you want to try mozzarella fior di latte you’d like mozzarella di bufala and burrata on pizza, as well! Ahh I’m getting hungry! Ahah

Hello! You’ve got to write the share code in the section where they ask you to prove your identity. I don’t have the leaflet anymore unfortunately so I cannot tell which section is it. Maybe 4 or 5. I don’t think you need to send your EU ID because I also have a share code and a status, and it wasn’t necessary. We are in a similar situation. I only needed to send away my original Italian licence. Hope this helps! 😊
Another wonderful video. I few years back I had the idea of visiting as many of the Scottish islands as I could. I got a Scottish Islands passport from the post office. It's meant to be stamped by a post office in each island we visit. I never did get round to doing it, though I still have the passport. And having seen the beauty of these islands through your wonderful videos makes me want to eventually get round to doing it. So thank you for your efforts to bring these places to us.
That is a wonderful idea, I didn’t know about the Scottish islands passport, I want one too now!! Lewis and Harris must be incredible… My “toxic trait” is always wanting to go back to Arran and Skye ahah Thank you for coming along on the journey ⛴️🤗

Hi Camilla. I've seen your nice videos from Oslo and Bergen. I live on the big island your Fjordcruise goes by (Osterøy). I'm not sure if the guide told you, but the fjords are all saltwater (seawater), however vhen you go to Modalen the water first turnes to Brackish water, and when you go up the stream with the small white old school to the right, you come into freshwater in Modalsvatnet (lake modal). The place with the dark brown church is on Osterøy, and this year they celebrated 1000 years as a church place. Just some trivia for you :-) Next time in Bergen take the cable car to Mount Ulrikken and do the walk down to Fløyen (2-4 hours depending on fitness)

Another brilliant video full of facts as always and a comprehensive guide to this lovely island- often called Scotland in miniature as I'm sure you know. My local bar has Arran single malt as tge malt of the month and I can thoroughly recommend it. 😊 And I could listen to you say ARRAN all day 😅😅😅. Scottish ancestry for sure. Now go a little further West to Campbeltown and the Mull of Kintyre, and I promise you will not be disappointed. It's like Arran² !!

My hometown! I actually used to live in your favourite Bergen street. 😉 I would be sad if you didn't feel safe and angry if you didn't have a reason to. As a student I worked the front desk at a few of the hotels you passed, but 95,- euro for that room sounds like highway robbery to me. Was that a hotel with a 24/7 staff and it's own restaurant?
Oh really? 😄 That’s so lucky, a really beautiful area and super central! Yes, that room was really expensive for what it was… The hotel was nice, the room…not. Yes there was 24 hour front desk, but no restaurant, only breakfast and free waffles in the afternoon!

@@camyinwonderworld I think you're right and history is being swallowed up by the present, a time when people seem to care less and less about the past. We should never forget about men like Mussolini and Hitler, two tyrants who fooled their people and caused the death of millions upon millions of mostly innocents. It's great to see videos of history that is all around us. Keep it up. I love walking in London and seeing those round purple plates that tell you who lived there centuries ago. Interesting that they still have Mussolini's name up. It belongs, of course, but I could see some people wanting it removed. Thanks again.
@@andrewpearson5504I totally agree with you. I personally found it interesting to see his name on the plaque and the photo of him and his mistress, because of history. To be honest I hadn’t even wondered if this was right or wrong until someone commented on it… I don’t think it’s a little “monument”/altar in his honour… I hope I’m right… Just today I saw that last month (on the 79th anniversary of Mussolini’s death) Italian Neo Fascists did a march and a commemoration in front of the gate. They did the same in Predappio, where he was born. Thankfully there were antifascists, too. I’m afraid they’d do commemorations even if they took the plaque and photo away…
Another wonderful, informative video, Camilla. I'd never heard of this place before, but it's now on my bucket list. It's a beautiful area, but it will be a while before I'm able to do any more walking. I must say that I envy you in that you get to see all these wonderful places. As always, I shall be waiting for the next video. I'm late finding this one, as I've had a few problems over the last few days, but I shall be sitting here eagerly next Sunday hoping to see another new one. I really do think you should write a book. it would be a winner.

I rather stay with a EU driving licence than, change to British since UK come out EU they driving licence turn in something useless.

Of course you must make your own agenda, but I haven't been working in Belfast this summer and I think you would enjoy it's vibrancy and air of excitement.
