No need to take the brake motor (actuator) off if you use a wind back tool (which is the proper way of doing this). If you temporarily remount the caliper, it makes things a whole lot easier.

im about t do the same swap to a 92 ranger, axle donor is a 93 explorer, i´m going for the no weld aproach, i´ll just get another driver side shock mount and turn it around and use the explorer leaf packs, this setup will drop the rear like 4 inches but i´ll throw some longer shackales and a spacer to make up for it, that and slighty larger rear tires will make it stand as it is now, its a 2wd so no problem with having diferent size tires in the rear
@Busted_Gs32 жыл бұрын
Nice i was going to do that as well but i decided to just move the pirch to the rear i can always put it back how it was if i decide to the get mount but heck yea thats whats up! That truck feels soo much better when trying to take off ive sent it side ways a few times already too😂😂

Thank you for the clear detailed instructions on how I remove and install! I will be purchasing that part for my 1999 GS300 I will update you if those sizes work. This looks like exact same setup as Lexus GS300 1998-2005. For those who are trying to fix that terrible squeaking noise coming from the back of the car.

@Busted_Gs32 жыл бұрын
@@Keyfloatz awesome and honestly they came off of a GM truck's suspension we upgraded and replaced all the hardware. But the specs are about 6 inches long fine thread with a nut and a grade 10 or above so the bolt wont snap on ya.

@@Busted_Gs3 I'm going to look in my tool box hopefully I have something similar. This gives us a good idea of what's needed. I went to Atwood's purchased Pipe end cap 1 1/2 inch and 1 1/4in. $2.89, $2.49. 2 inch nipple for the spacer = $2.89. I just need a 6 inch bolt nut and washer's. This will be under $20 easy for anyone interested. This is a very cheap diy kit!

That's not at all how you do this. You need to go to the infotainment center and put the rear brakes in service mode to retract the caliper

There is another way to retract the E-Brake manually. You don't have to go through the entertainment center.

Great vid! Was just wondering for rotor replacement with caliper and pads removed, is there enough space do you think to remove and slide out the rotors WITHOUT removing the caliper mounting bracket? It does not look like it, but I know on some vehicles it is possible, so figured I would ask ;-)
@Busted_Gs32 жыл бұрын
I dont believe it would be possible with the caliper braket on, good question though. Thank you for the like and comment. I still got to upload the front brake pads so stay tuned!
