HomemadeJam3D

Here I am! I'm the one that will show you tutorials for custom (mostly) handpainted 3D printed model figures. I usually work with 1:6 scale models but from time to time, I may paint something different. I also do diorama creation and resin pouring videos here! I am not a professional and make no claim to be an expert or pro in any of my hobbies. I just like to make stuff and share that with my viewers. If you want to learn how to paint your 3D printed models with that realistic look, then you have found the right channel. You'll also see cool reviews of the newest printers and resins and filaments. It's great to have you here!! I appreciate each and every one of my subscribers!

    We have two completely different styles of painting. I know Lucia, we follow each other. I focus more on realism so my techniques are going to be different. My suggestion would be to follow the painter that you would most like to learn from, but with that said, you can learn new techniques by watching multiple painters. ☺️ Thank you for watching!

    Thaks awesome video. have you brought your model back into chichi box or lychee and asked it to find islands to see how accurate your method it. just curious. I will definitely give this a try. So your work flow is step 1. bring into chichi box and hollow and put in drain holes step 2 bring into purse and do what you showed in the video step 3 back to your chichi box and slice and good to go. im telling you im going to try this and it will save hours thanks

  • @HomemadeJam3D
    @HomemadeJam3D5 ай бұрын

    I believe X-Plus Models just prints and sells the models. This was a test print for the actual model designer that I did. When Brian finished the sculpt, he sent me the files to test print for him, so this was the very first physical print ever done. If you'd like a model printed for you as a kit, I would be happy to do that for you.

    Darn nice work! I recently got a statue of Vampi as a gift, and she was painted already, but had all this blood on her, so I actually scraped it off with a razor knife, and it came off well without damaging the painted skin. I did touch it up here and there, and gave it a good coat spray after to shore up the skin. I note that your fine skintones are very much like the statue, and I commend you for that! • @HomemadeJam3D
    @HomemadeJam3D Жыл бұрын

    Yes, I prime all my models. Not always gray though. Depending on what color in painting, primer can completely change the tone of the color. Gray is my go to for skin tones though. Sometimes I use spray can primer and sometimes I use acrylic primer with my airbrush. If you use laquer primer, you'll need to let it gas out for at least 24 hours or you'll have a really bad time with your paint finish

    Yes, I actually will use the matte varnish several times to seal layers. I seal after the base coat, I seal after the washes, and I seal again after the chalk pastels. I do a final good sealing once I'm completely finished with everything and then a gloss or satin varnish on the lips and gloss on the eyes.

    @KurtisJoseph Жыл бұрын

    @@jamierobinson2338 I applied this on a 1/4 scale Arkham Origins Batman. It is one of many I am doing. A series to display I guess. It creates very realist "depth". In fact it is kind of weird. I tried applying a wash and it jacked it up. I just built up layers over it. It worked well. I used an Army Painter flesh range.

  • @KurtisJoseph
    @KurtisJoseph Жыл бұрын

    @@jamierobinson2338 the varnish after each sequence of colors makes a huge difference. I get it. It creates a raised clear layer you have to "see through" to perceive the colors underneath. The washes are so thin that it does not know what colors it is perceiving. That is how it creates the depth. Works very well. I am new to printing and painting statues, but I have done some pretty cool stuff. I love doing quarter scale. Minis too. Lol!
