I highly recommend you scope out one or two places in Portugal and staying in Portugal for 30-45 days. See if you like the place. Meet locals. See if you belong. Don’t do all the bureaucratic paperwork if you don’t belong there. That 30-45 day stay will give you a good insight. All other tips in this video are valid. I love Portugal but cannot live there. Just me.
Thank you for adding your opinion for others to read.
San sebastian à city of the basque country autonomous région of spain not à city in spain, thank you
Thank you
is it safe to live as expat for couple of years with no spanish or basque but only english?
I'm sorry, but I don't live in Spain so I cannot speak to this.
@@CORRTravel ok thanks for answer, but have you ever felt unsafe while u were in spain in any cities or portugal ?
@@user4name Nope! 🙂
Great video
Glad you enjoyed it! Please feel free to check out the other videos on Greece. :-)
Hi , thanks alot. Planned informative video
Glad it was helpful!
Good, concise summary of everything to think about, moving to Portugal! I enjoyed the video presentation. Only negative, Algarvé? 😉
Glad it was helpful! I know, I know... my Spanish keeps slipping. Lo siento! Lol. It's one of my biggest adjustments. I hope people will forgive. That, and the fact I'm sitting under a red umbrella. 😀
@@CORRTravel luckily, as a Californian, my Spanish is minimal. I studied French in school, and my Spanish is mostly in the understanding, not speaking it. This combination is helpful in learning Portuguese. Portuguese people are so nice, most would never want to correct you, unless you specifically asked. I can wait to visit again!
@@Nubianette Honestly, lending to speaking Spanish is an effort that should be attempted, at minimum - it has helped me when English was not an option. Not all Portuguese may understand, but you'd be surprised. Additionally, much of the written language is similar so you would be able to understand some basic information.

Thank you so much for all the information. Love the video
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching and keep coming back!
Your video clip was the best honest, natural and clear narrative ever. Keep up the good work 💯
Thank you for your feedback. I'm so pleased you liked it! Please feel free to see the other travel guides on this channel and keep coming back for future travel planning needs! Best, Gwen
Hi, did you book tours or ferry trips in advance or on the day? We are heading there early June!
I booked my boat trips to islands while there, but in advance. However, I was there in mid-September. Since you'll be there in Peak Season, I would book in advance if you can. Summer months always have more tourists. Have fun!
Thanks for your video it was really helpful 😊
Glad it was helpful! If you're going to Zakynthos, please let the viewers know how it went and what you liked most. Would love to hear about your trip. Have fun!
Need help I am traveling to Barcelona with my friend we should be there July 8 9 10 11 12 13 we would love to see as much as possible I just watch your video was great .We need to in the center and stay in Marriott and hotels under Marriott family .on the 14 we are taking Mediterranean cruise with Norwegian cruise line then on the 23 coming back to Barcelona. Thank you in advance.
I'm so pleased you liked the video and found it useful for your upcoming trip to Barcelona! I appreciate your ask for assistance in planning. I do provide itinerary audits for existing itineraries (www.corrtravel.com/coaching-services/) but can also help prepare an itinerary from scratch. Please feel free to book time with me with the link I provided. If you want something quicker, I have an instant, downloadable 4 Day Barcelona itinerary in PDF format you can find here: www.corrtravel.com/travel-resources/travel-itineraries/ or here: www.corrtravel.com/barcelona-4-day-itinerary-pdf/ This, I'm sure, will definitely get you started. It's fairly quick moving, so you can use it as-is and insert an extra day trip from Barcelona, which I highly recommend, or just slow it down to last for 5/6 days with one day trip from Barcelona. Whatever you choose, I HIGHLY recommend getting either your Barcelona Card or individual entry tickets to the big ticket items (like La Sagrada Familia) asap with skip-the-line entry for first entry of the morning, if possible. This way you avoid the crowds and have more of the rest of the day to relax. I hope this has been helpful for you!
Hi Just a quickie.I am a solo traveller but the kayak companies in Split seem to want 2 people bookings! Which company did you use or is the a way round this ? Thanks
That's a great question. Actually, my hotel (Starlight Luxury Suites) arranged the kayak for me when I was traveling solo in Croatia. I cannot recall the name of the company at this time. I would reach out to your hotel/accommodations in advance and ask if they can arrange the kayak for you (w/ cliff jumping). I hope you get to do it. It was great fun. Good luck!
@@CORRTravel I will try and contact the companies directly then and see what they say.Sounds like a great way to enjoy my vacation. Thanks.
@@johnstewart3244 Hi John. I had a chance to do some quick research. This tour looks very similar to the one I did in Split. It's small group (no more than 12), and leaves from Bene area for a half day. Just take the bus from the Riva area to the Bene bus stop (very easy - just confirm this with the tour company): viator.tp.st/f4lTBqtt You should be able to stop at the beach and also do cliff jumping. Just bring money for food/drinks. I had a BLAST on my kayak trip. Such a fun morning with a great group of people (as you'll see in the video). Our guide was great, too. I hope this is the same company I had on my tour. Note: if you're going during peak season, I would highly book in advance as these days activities are selling out. You can cancel 24 hours in advance for free (as long as you book more than 12 hours in advance). Bonus, because if there is chance of thunderstorms, like there was when I was there, the trip could be cancelled. Have a great time! Post here if you did it and how you liked the kayak and Split in general for the other viewers. Thanks! -Gwen
That's absolutely super Gwen . I will do as you say and leave my impressions below. I am grateful for your extra research. If you come to Northern England, please get in touch and I will show you round! Thanks again. Only 4 weeks to go before my holiday of a lifetime!
@@johnstewart3244 My pleasure to help. I'm sure you'll have a great time. Thanks for the kind offer on Northern England!
Love it!! Straight to the point ❤
I'm so pleased! Please see all other travel guides for your travel needs.
We always stay in Perissa, nice beach, heaps of good restaurants and bars, and easy access for trips to Thira and other villages by local bus.. would never stay in Thira! Also to note - do NOT use the donkeys in Thira and Oia, they are treated badly - use your legs 🙂
Thank you for your recommendation on Perissa. My recommendation on Thira was that it offers so many bonuses for first time travel, especially on a short stay. If you want a quieter experience, just stay further away from the Thira center, as I mentioned in the video. Yes, NEVER use any animals for tourism efforts. They are cruelty to animals. I also state this on my website: www.corrtravel.com. I am so appreciative you feel the same!
I can't believe you're recommending purchasing carbon offsets. Those are the biggest scam known to man. Please stop recommending them. There's so much more we can do on our own that costs next to nothing and takes minimal time that actually makes a difference.
I'm sorry you feel that purchasing carbon offsets is not beneficial. Actually, they are beneficial as those funds go to many programs. They are but ONE way you can do you part to protect the environment for more sustainable travel. I encourage you to undertake all efforts, not just carbon offsetting. If you have other great eco-travel tips that you currently do that I have not mentioned, please provide them here for other viewers! Thanks so much!
A beautiful island.Must visit. I also loved the food section.😀
Thank you so much. Yes, it's a lovely island. You will like it! 😉

2 mistakes: 1.) bus 119 was replaced by 2-axle 59 hybrid trolleybus/battery bus - one of the longest in the world kzread.info/dash/bejne/c2F11pqTdc-zk5s.html 2.) segways are NOT allowed anymore in touristic and central areas in Prague Greating from Prague
Thank you for your input for the viewers. Yes, unfortunately, the change from the 119 bus to the new 59 bus JUST went into effect 2 weeks before I completed this video. I was just in Prague again late April and saw the new 59 bus myself. Looks nice, is much larger, AND eco-friendly. Fortunately, segway tours still do exist in Prague and are also eco-friendly. They are predominately on the west side of the Vltava (Little Quarter) area. These are good options for those who cannot walk those hills. :-)
Hello thank you for that great video. What is that beach called in your video that has sun loungers and a bar for drinks? Thank you
Glad you liked it! Honestly, all beaches have them. If you tell me what time in the video you're referring to I can let you know.
sure do like those shots of pretty girls don't you?
Super helpful video, thank you! My only comment would be. I wish the Tips boxes were a little skinnier so we could see more of the beautiful footage of the city! Can’t wait to visit next month :-) thank you again for the tips!
Great suggestion! Thank you. I will work on that. I'm pleased you like the video overall and found it helpful for planning your trip to Barcelona. Have a great time!
Great info.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I’m heading there in late July
Glad you enjoy it! Have a wonderful time in Barcelona. 🇪🇸 😀
Your video shows a lot of cloud. When was this filmed?
September. There's also a lot of blue sky, too. 😀
You do realise there is more to Santorini than Fira and Oia,Kamari and Perissa are fantastic places
Yes, of course! As the video states, there's fantastic wine tasting, hiking, boating excursions, food tours, historic sites and MORE - all beyond the main villages. Unfortunately, Santorini is not known for its beaches as compared to other Greek destinations, but they are still on the list of things to do for sure.
I just comeback from 10 days trip in Portugal. The weather was fine, the street was pretty clean and not many people were there. I’m very sorry to say that , had I know the Lisboa, I wouldn’t have planned to stay in for 7 days. The Monastery I had to wait to for more than an hour under the hot sun, I couldn’t see the main part of Monastery because it closed after I got in although it said it closed 6 pm ,and still let people were getting in . Paying 12 euro and seeing only the corridor of the Monastery was not worth it. And you have to pay one euro or .50 euro to get in most of public bathroom.
Yah, it's ideal to get your tickets in advance when possible to avoid the lines and save time.
I don’t find thr beach in this city alluring at all. It’s not even a turquoise color.
I'm SO very sorry to hear that. This beach is considered the best city beach in all of Europe. This is the Bay of Biscay, not the Caribbean. And the color is amazing! I took that photo you see in the video thumbnail so it DOES look like that. :-)
Thank you for the video! It’s very helpful. Where can I find 3 days or 5 days itineraries?
Glad you liked it and found it helpful! The link to the 3 (or 4) day itinerary is in the video description but am providing it here: www.corrtravel.com/santorini-3-day-itinerary/ I am working on downloadable PDF itineraries that will be available soon and the video description will be updated with those links. I am sorry, but I don't have a 5-day itinerary available at this time.
Only regret on our recent Portugal trip was spending only 3 days in Porto. Could easily have spent a week or more.
Yes, Porto is lovely and easy to spend more time there. I hope, though, you got to see and do what you wanted in Porto in those 3 days. If you have feedback on what you did in 3 days, please share it with the viewers. Thanks!
@@CORRTravel We did a pastel de nata cooking class, which was a nice low key fun event. Of course we did the obligatory Port wine tour and other touristy things. I would recommend skipping Livraria Lello unless you like being crammed like sardinhas just for a picture. As a book nerd, it didn't work well for me. There are amazing alfarrabistas (essentially antique book stores) in Porto. I went with a list of 9 to visit. It was very helpful to be able to speak about intermediate level Portuguese when going to these far less touristy places.
@@victorbehar804 The cooking class is a great idea. Thank you for sharing that recommendation to the viewers. Yes, a Porto visit would not be complete without port tasting and tours of some kind. Thank you for the information on Livraria Lello. I have not been so it is appreciated for the other viewers and would-be Porto visitor.
Tipping in Spain IS customary, just not percentage based. If you enjoy a meal, you round up the bill, increasing the tip amount the more you have enjoyed it.
Actually, it is not customary. You have the option to tip, but it's not required. Coming from the US, however, I always tip rounding up my bill (and then some for excellent service). 😀

I have planned to stay in one of granollers hotel, can you suggest me some nearest best and easy going place to visit
I believe this hotel is outside of Barcelona central, yes? If so, I am not familiar with this area. If you want to see the main sites of Barcelona, you can either drive or take the train into the central area.
Love this video. Plan traveling Basque region this June solo first time by train and appreciate all advice. Thank You.
Glad it was helpful! Have a great time!
There is a travel advisory level 2 by US department of state, because of crime. What is the safety level in general. Is walking around something that is done there for example?
Yes, I walked extensively in Nassau during the day. In a nutshell, much of the crime is located in areas where you will not go as a tourist. Please see my tips in the video on the two places to avoid. If you feel uncomfortable walking, take a taxi. Of course, use the Safety Tips I provided in the video as well. Have a great time!
Hi new subbed we are a travel vlog channel to and staying just our side Barcelona in our motorhome which we live work and travel in now we want to get the metro in to the city but can you tell me the best stop to get of at as there are a few we are also thinking of doing the hop on hop off bus but have a tiny dog are they allowed on the hop on/off buses TIA ❤
Hello - Plaça de Catalunyaa is a prime central location to walk, catch the metro and buses, as well as the Hop On Hop Off bus. If they take dogs, however, that I cannot speak to. I would advise speaking with them in advance. Have a great time in Barcelona!
👍

Drinking beer in trains, S-train and Metro is allowed. In buses, it is almost certain NOT allowed.

This is an excellent video, my wife and i visit Barcelona frequently in transit simply to join cruise ships and have found one hotel we really like, however we are not staying there on the outbound Journey at the end of next month because the price is ridiculous although we are on the way back, it is on avenue parallel, so just up the road from the Columbus statue with lots of good snack bars and shops near by.
Thanks for sharing! If you have the name of the hotel, please feel free to share it here for other readers. I'm pleased you liked the video. Please keep coming back to CORR Travel!
