    I have this same color scheme, 2014. Mine is definitely more aggressive but I broke the bank, though! 🤣 I installed HREP40SC wheels. 20x12 rears 345/30/20 tires, and 20x10 fronts, 265/35/20. Lowered 1.5" all around with Formula Dynamics springs. (no tire rubbing, no wheel spacers) Timado404

    For a simple DIY mod to your 03-19 GranTurismo, install a fuel port seal plate. Few benefits: Prevent rain/wash water leak around fuel port neck that can pool in trunk. Provides flat surface for "green" fuel station pumps with rubber boots, reducing pump cut-off during fill-up. Looks cool, more like a race car fuel port. Each kit comes with a silver alloy ring, gasket and SS screws. maseratimods.com/products/fuel-filler-neck-seal-ring

    Thanks for making this process visible ! I have 1998 XKR and planning to do something similar with it. I don't drive that so often but as you say if this helps give low and mid range more juice to the experience then it worth the efforts. The sound of the supercharger is amazing but as you said, without this pulley modification upgrade we might enjoy that less. Also thinking about both pulleys upgraded(upper and this at the bottom/crank pulley/) What are your thoughts on that? Would that be too much? Or just pointless? I have seen that Powerhouse upper pulley upgrade for 157pounds offers around 10% increase in the low and mid range and boosts the pressure about 2.5psi. Also have read somewhere that if someone plans to change both pulleys have to upgrade the cooling as well. More power - more engine + supercharging cooling will be required.

  • @rettsummerville4573
    @rettsummerville4573Ай бұрын

    Thanks for your feedback. I considered the upper pulley upgrade but you need to grind down the snout of the SC to get the smaller pulley to fit. I opted not to do that for only a modest increase in boost. The lower pulley upgrade provides 60% more boost than upper if I recall correctly. Keep in mind, the faster the SC spins the more heat it creates, so to upgrade both pulleys will require a larger intercooler and possibly upgraded fans, etc.

    Does look much better with wheel spacers. I did mine a few months ago with H&R. I am contemplating H&R lowering springs now. Apparently lowers the rear by 35mm and front by 15mm. I need to change my upper control arm bushes so now is the time if I do fit springs.

    I added 30MM spacers in the rear and 25MM in the front. And also bought the lowering springs...all from Formula Dynamics. Really helps a ton. Have 20" 295 rear and plan on replacing with 305. Should fill it out more.

    Nice work there. Interestingly, I tried super glue on the walnut dash of a series 3 Jaguar, and it left traces of a white residue. I wish I'd tried lacquer, it looks like you got a better result. I've wondered about using 2k epoxy resin on the basis that it's probably stronger and more resistant to further cracking. Not sure yet. I've got a series 2 to restore. May try it on that. Edit ** Would have kept that v12, but it developed a nasty petrol leak. Nice and fast though. kzread.info/dash/bejne/la1219SCgdjJZbw.html

    2k epoxy resin might work too but you just need to thin it so it seeps into the crack.

    It's some kind of epoxy resin. The best way to repair the panel is to carefully heat it with a iron and scrape the old expoxy of. Than you simply apply a new high gloss expoxy and give it a nice polish. The trim will look like new.

    Looks great! I'm gonna try the same thing with the wood on my Mini's steering wheel, the veneer has a few cracks. I'm thinking some lacquer or polyurethane along with a foam brush to really wedge it in there should do pretty well!

    The veneers are cut into shape along with the foundation veneer (tulip wood) they are then placed in a heated press, with sheet adhesive between each layer and a clear film on the face to protect the veneer. This forms and creates all of those curves, the veneers are of course treated with distilled water previously in order to allow the bends and reduce cracking. After this the face is sanded prior to spraying the lacquer, not epoxy resin, after 5-6 coats the part was finished on a sanding machine and the apertures cleaned on a CNC...........surprised the lacquer split tbh but it depends how thick and what temp the car was in.

    The lacquer cracking is a common problem in older Jaguars and other British cars. Probably due to hot / cold contractions but it is unfortunate they didn't figure out how to resolve this over the years.

    Lila Jolie Oh yes, I'm well aware. I've had three Jaguars and I finally got tired of trying to fix things on the 2 I kept, and so now I'm just replacing what's needed. Cost more but it's less grief and more time spent enjoying the cars.
