  Dont get me wrong it is a good camera with a nice body design...but very very expensive there are much better cheaper options.I wish we could have the new sensor to a new gx9 type model that would be interesting.

  I currently use the R5C for commercials and corporate videos, it is a beast of a camera but I would like to have a second body for the improved version 2 CLOG2 Full HDMI and so on. Canon should not miss this opportunity and launch it very soon, hopefully in less than 90 days.

  Hi, Z8 is currently around 3300 CHF in Switzerland…R5ii would be 4500 CHF feels 1k too much and RF mount is still not open in FF to sigma,tamron lens and kind of expensive… N raw is better to edit vs canon raw in resolve… For me Nikon is cheaper and with more and less same features and with faster readout and over sampled 4k 60…plus ProRes raw internal,n raw and plenty of codecs… But to go back to canon is not enough today I would buy rather a Nikon Z8 now,probably soon with next Sony FF, Panasonic S2H could be a good option as well and more lens choices…and Red Nikon could as well surprise us in 2025…

  10BIT in non log format is huge! Also Clog2 and Bt709 from their cinema line. This camera is for sure a huge upgrade when your a video first hybrid shooter!

  Yes, the r6 has a 6k sensor so it needs less internal processing to 4K whereas with an 8k sensor it needs way more processing power to do so. I think they could have done it but decided against due to even further overheating issues

  Is the 10 bit 8k only up to 30fps? Or can it do 60fps?? at least this way we can film in 8k 60 fps non raw and then oversample by dropping in a 4K timeline….can only hope

  I think the problem at open gate is that it needs too much processing power and writing a compressed video file from the raw signal is already processing intensive on its own. I think if they could have done they would have implemented it. So this is then a processor limitation.

  I see the arguments that on paper FX6 is better but it is more complicated than that. Yes it has better low light, lower price, more compact body, better frame rates and if any of this matter to you yea... go with FX6. But FX9 is still a superior camera... it was made by the Alta division meaning it has the Venice color science, true 4k color resolution (due to 6K oversampling), professional shoulder operation, broadcast IO, 1st party extension unit for V-mount batteries, wireless systems etc, support for B4 lenses in Super16 mode. There is a LOT that this camera offers that FX6 will just never do. Not to mention it looks more professional. The only thing I really miss on it is Cache Recording in S&Q mode, which FX6 can do. I hope they add this one day in a Firmware update.

  Hi Paule, many thanks for your very helpful video. I’m only just starting to use DVR and use it in conjunction with Log images from my iPhone Pro 15 max. Your video is the only one I’ve seen on KZread which has explained clearly why the CST node is placed at the end and the grading nodes are placed before it. This has always been a a big puzzle to me and I’m sure other ‘KZreadrs’ who post instruction videos don’t understand why. Also you very clearly explained the other methods of converting which have also been unclear. So VERY WELL DONE!!!!! Keep up the excellent teaching videos. Kevin (North Wales, UK)

  For a gimbal you need the bigger easyrig with a special adapter and it only work with the big gimbal that have the ring grip around it

  True this is a great lens. I think with 105 from canon you have a bit more flexibility and the 4mm on the wide end do make a difference

  @@pauleporterdp The 24-105 doesn't impress me. It's a weird shape lens with a robotic zoom but it isn't a big enough zoom range that you'd ever really need a robotic zoom. 10x zoom with a robotic zoom ok... 4x robotic? What is the point? Most people can zoom 4x by hand. So.. my opinion, the design is bad because of the zoom and the end result is not worth it so much.

Die einfache Version ohne den zusätzlichen Stecker kostet knapp 1000€ und die mit Stecker kostet dann fast 1500€. Damit kann man den Zoom mit einer Kabelfernbedienung betätigen! Wegen diesem Firlefanz ist das Objektiv so lang und schwer geworden! Die Gewindebohrungen am Objektivkörper sind nicht abgedeckt!

  I own a FX6, and I rented a FX9 during one week for a commercial documentary, and I wish I went with the FX9... Except the fact it doesn't have 100fps in full frame, everything in the FX9 is better (image quality, IO, heavier so better with handheld shots, shoulder ready, evf, xlr ports in the body, S35 mode, true dual ISO,...). One advice to all of the viewers on KZread, don't listen the reviews! I blame myself for doing so...Everyone has different needs, so test it (rental) by yourself before making any decisions..
