I followed your guide at steam. I have to say some of your videos were very hard to follow but I see why you had them laid out that way you did. I was getting very frustrated but all I had to do was just continue the storyline. Finding the champagne netted me my platinum. Four years chasing this platinum lol. Thank you

so arcade is just better...i get like 15 kills a game on arcade, rb just isn't worth my time, something gaijin never thought about in the creation of this game, I'm top 0% on apex, mw2, and many other games and I don't have time for this mode.
I don't have a PC, and am not very good at video games, this game I really want to play, yet can't for those two reasons I stated, I have been loving this walkthrough, I know it's meant to be a helpful guide, but I just use it to see the game. I know it's been 7 years, and I don't even know if you'll see this, but thanks for making this series :)

Decided to finally start clearing my backlog. The Witness is a game I just stopped playing at some point so I started all over again today. Got stuck on the last apple tree puzzle but remembered seeing the solution somewhere before years ago, checked KZread on my tv and found this video. Stuck again on one of the desert puzzles and this time, checked KZread on my pc and realized THIS is the video where I first saw the solution. You're the only one I've found so far to explain how you can see the reflection on the panels (instead of wasting hours guessing), but going behind it and activating it so that it slides across so you can get sunlight on the other side. Excellent video. I hope not to have to consult them too much though, because I really want to be able to solve these things.

52:06. Man, why this final triangle puzzle works? I've found every such a panel, but the final puzzle is not unlocked/doesn't work. Why? And I checked every panel. Weird thing. What am I doing wrong?
Hey penumbrum. It's been 7 years so my memory is foggy on that, but here's what I think is happening: check the left cable on the puzzle: it should be lit up yellow, if not, it means you can't solve it yet. To get the pannel primer cable lit up (spoiler): you need to have all the lasers activated and have solved the box puzzle on top of the mountain fully. That means you can't just open the box but you have to also open the rest (section under the box) by continuing the trail past it's first solving position. Hope this helps.
@@LuminothLumi hey, Lumi. Thank you for your comment. You were right, I missed that thing under the box. And still I'm butthurting about that sound puzzle. The first things are easier to solve, but the later ones... that bird chriping one🤣. I just wanted to replay it in a faster pace to revist the things I'd learned.
Thanks for being the only KZreadr I've found that explains the puzzles and shows how to complete them. I love this game and I hate being given the answer though I'm struggling. I love the hints you give and I love that you show how to actually complete a puzzle instead of just cutting the footage of how to beat the game <3

9:55 Here you can actually draw the exact same shape as the previous puzzle, you just have to start from the bottom.
I don't think it's possible cause there is a line break on the right...
@@LuminothLumi I didn't mean same line, just same shape. The right side of the shape is touching the wall, so you don't need to draw a line there. You start off by going to the right and go up one block before hitting the wall. From there you just follow the same path as before and exist on the top.

If my math is right you solve 14 puzzles in the challenge itself but after your SOLVED count goes up by 21, do you know why?
That's because all the alternative puzzles that you don't solve on that run also count as solved.

OMG thank god i finally found a video explaining how to do the RGB lights room because i really wanted to get 100% but after watching this video it helped me get 100%! Kudos to you for finding out this solution
This is the ONLY video I could find that shows the Vase Puzzle in the Glass Factory at 27:12. I searched for half an hour and was exposed to hundreds of spoilers just to find ANYONE showing how to do this stupid puzzle. It was not worth all the spoilers I had to see just to find this. I'm still at the "beginning" of the game but so far this is by far my personal most hated puzzle in the game currently.

.. how did you know that was a sound puzzle in the colour room? This game can be so frustrating ...
If you look at how the puzzle paths make their bends, you'll see that sound puzzle have an extra kink. Regular puzzles do the 90 degree bends in one curved swoop, while sound puzzle do twice 45 degrees.

Who is the conection betwen Part 12 and 13?! I´m in the Fortress with secret door activatet, need the way to the callanges.
If memory serves right: go down the mountain and solve the yellow triangle puzzle to open the secret door. Enter it and you should reach the challenge, by following the only path.
@@LuminothLumi I´m in the Fortess at the starting point. And ther is no way out. I have done evereything in part 12. Ther is a door only to a living house.

Honestly, the best part of the Challenge is that the timer is _Into the Hall of the Mountain King_, because the most famous part of the entire music piece is also the final countdown telling you that you're starting to run out of time.

If I understand correctly, I think you need to turn all lasers on and then solve the box puzzle on top of the mountain fully.

I went and solved the 2 pressure pad timer puzzles and then all the rotating pillars really quickly even though I cant remember you doing them... got into what I thought was an elevator,,, set the controls and it took off, flew around the island excruitiatingly slowly turning off puzzles and lasers... ended up at the start... and the game closed !?!? Loaded up to continue but without getting into the cage and it hadnt saved anything prior to going down the elevator to the pressure pad area !! ARGH !!
oh PHEW big relief... the save that I thought meant i couldnt escape the cage/flying elevator loaded up but allowed me to exit fter resetting the 'sliders' XD
@@GranulatedStuff I believe that you just witnessed the game ending and restarted before the ending sequence. That's normal.
Personal opinion of the game after 100%ing all of it: atrocious not-Braid. Even hunted down all the recordings, hoping they can redeem it to some extent, but nope, just an incoherent mess of theosophy. Feels like Talos Principle is all that The Witness desperately fails to be. The conventional (non-environmental) puzzles really weren't half-bad, a fine brain-teaser overall. But honestly, the best part about the game was mopping up what I missed in your parasocial company. You got a knack for this and aren't annoying in your playstyle and commentary unlike many trying to do the same thing. Oh, and if you're reading this, know that this episode is numbered last but ordered next-to-last in the playlist.
38:44 I started watching this series after having solved almost all of the conventional puzzles, looking to catch some of the environmentals I missed and would never notice otherwise, but this one conventional vault puzzle on the derelict barge left me so confused, since while I did quickly get the idea behind it, there are so many ambiguous rules unexplained: - Which of the sounds does the cycle start at? - Do all of the sounds matter or are there red herrings like in the forest? - How am I supposed to compare their pitch if they're playing in vastly different registers? - Am I also supposed to take into account pitch drift on top of that as taught in the forest? - Does the invisible mirror line count hexagons hit or do I need to hit all with the visible one? -- Is the invisible mirror line restricted to a color as in all other multicolored hexagon puzzles? -- How is the sequence of hexagons ordered between the two lines? --- Does the puzzle count all hexagons of one line and then continues with the other? ---- Which one goes first then? --- Or does it just combine their hexagons into a joint sequence in order of line length? The combinatorics there are insane if I was to try all possible combinations of assumptions. So I'm just happy to cheat off your solution this one time after banging my head against this one. The solution looks like an outline of a steam barge. ^_^
Yeah, I got it somehow the first time around, and I must admit that for the recording I just couldn't get it again (probably had aged and lost some hearing by then 😅), so I checked a solution online and reverse engineered the solution rules for the video. But yeah, the one puzzle where the rules aren't as clear cut to find and some trial and error is involved...
I was beating my head against this one as well. Turns out, all these explainations about "sound freqencies" have led me down the wrong path. This puzzle is nothing more than a red herring. The solution is actually quite simple - just connect the dots in the only way possible. That's it. Forget about sounds and colors. That's how I did it anyway.
13:56 Funnily-enough, that last purple isn't required for progression with how the collision model behaves letting you step over it and onto the wooden platform when incomplete.
28:40 It's not actually a bug or misalignment. The path can't overlap itself by design. For 3/4 shape, you need to make the first transition on that upper vertical static path and use the next blade to move onto the lower one after a near-complete revolution. From then on it's as you show.
4:03 The apple and, more importantly, the branch are both visible through the fence gate from outside, which is a good clue to solve the last tree puzzle. Now this is inconsequential, but I see people refer to some kind of apple "thief", although nothing in the scene seems to hint at thievery to me. A farmer harvested an apple from their tree and accidentally broke its branch, then brought both the apple and the branch with them into their patio to salvage as firewood later, diced and served the apple on a tray. A thief would just leave the broken branch wherever it fell under the tree and scram with the apple.
Missed an environmental you were staring at in the very end and another one closeby, although the latter doesn't count for town, I believe.
Ah, just confirmed that the latter one you did in an earlier episode. Maybe you did the other one earlier as well.

32:05 Did you notice how the last two solutions are almost identical? In fact, both of them work for both puzzles. In fact, there's a common solution for the first three as well. The game likes those here and there. I do wonder if there's a solution that will fit all five of them…

Where are 523+135+6 puzzles? It's not 100%.
I didn't take the 1h waiting environmental, but show how to get it, that's why the score is off. But it is 100%.

I still can't grasp the logic of the tetris puzzle at 34:08 (the one before last). I think it somehow breaks the rules of the rest.
The rule remains the same: 1) place yellow cube shapes next to each other. 2) remove a blue shape from anywhere in your built shape... The thing is here that you have to imagine overlaps. So maybe representing it in 3D helps. One could also add an addendum to rule two: the removed shape doesn't need to be on the same plane (z axis) as long as the projection of the shape on x and z represent the blue depiction.
Dangit, the playlist's mess up a bit. Parts 12 and 13 are flipped.

Follow my advice from the video and then try again and again until you know how to solve the puzzles quickly. Eventually you'll manage 😉
@@LuminothLumi something wrong on youtube i cant see my message, but yes i get the solve the puzzles more quickly now( still i dont understand much the triangle puzzle) but still not quick enough because on ps4 moving the cursor is not intuitive , i won the challenge to me forever more than 10hours , i manage to watch many videos and find ways to guide me so i can do faster, still i had to use a glitch so i can solve the last puzzle and understand how it works, and seeing the video i should first do this 14:11 before doing the challenge but learn the hard way
