  I enjoyed most of it. I'd say if you read a lot of sci fi it's worth adding to your list, if you don't read much there is a lot of higher priority reads. It has glaring literary and creative flaws but overall its a fun adventure punctuated by a unique sense of humor. I'd suggest setting your expectations along the line of Starship Troopers, Guardians of the Galaxy or Fifth Element instead of something more serious and dark. This might seem very specific and nerdy but I imagined this as a novel written by Tom Paris from Star Trek Voyager and I found that super entertaining lol. The cocky mary-sue easque pilot main character making retro pop culture references from 100 years ago really just kept playing into something Tom would write, after he finished the Captain Proton saga of course lol.

  Narrator is great. Comfortable reading speed, good inflection, & tone. Couldn't get in to the story however. 90 min in and it's still meandering, hasn't hooked me. May jump to the next book or so at a later date however; as the premise is what intrigued me in the 1st place.

  No one has mentioned that things are out of order, like Keagan had already gotten an emergency shot of insulin earlier in the story, and then his mother and Keagan meet at the FEMA giveaway? Underwood is replaced as sheriff by Jackson and then appears at the FEMA giveaway as sheriff again. Seems like the editor missed several instances of repetition as well. Kind of annoying. Otherwise I’ve enjoyed the series.

  Always on the verge of to much emotional drama. Everything everyone does seems to drip with drama. Almost more than i can withstand. Have tried to listen to the authors other audio books. But never been able to finish them. Might have to bail on this one too. Its like a soap opera with a pending apocalypse as a distant backdrop. More soap opera than anything else. Definitely a difference between male and female authors. The men usually get right to the apocalypse in short order. Women tend to write with a heavy stress on the relationships between the characters. But then im a guy. So i like getting to the nitty gritty action post haste😸

  Bodies on the streets wouldnt go from bloated to raisins. Completely missed out on the maggot stage, particularly as they had already been swarmed by flies... just imagine all the movements of the carcasses had made whilst the maggots moved and writhed within.

  Well, I'm happy that you all are enjoying this for free, but I spent countless hours writing the series, and my poor narrator spent more countless hours narrating it, just for someone to put it up on KZread without our permission. Great, just great.
