Roosevelt killed the dirt farmer. My dad told me that, as his father watched the county plow up close to 2 acres of his crops, he spat on the ground and called the president a 'crippled old bastard'. But at least alcoholics got their whiskey, whilst my grandfather's kids half starved, right? Democrats always pander to the trash of society.

It sounds good. The reversed strings are okay. You are using a fingerpick. The worst are bare handed fingerpickers who try to fingerpick a 12-string bare handed. It is best to use a plastic thumb pick and several metal finger picks to make sure the high string in the pairs get plucked. Mod that Chinese thing to your heart’s content. Better tuners, etc. If I were the President of Rickenbacker, I would come out with a budget line produced in Indonesia. No bindings, contoured edges, 12 bridge saddles for proper intonation, low output pickups, roller nuts, roller saddles. Bolt on neck for easier, less expensive repairs, satin neck, not gloss. No black, no fire glow colors, they are ugly. A simple tail stop. No vibrato. A good quality soft case zipper bag. Hard shell cases are expensive and make black and blue leg bruises on your legs. Those old style latches always break or do not work. No maple or walnut finishes, leave that for the high end stuff. Offer a few attractive colors, such as a green burst or blue burst. Black or red are colors of the Devil, no thanks. Keep the Rick sound. Most 12-string and 6-string guitars may have powerful pickups, but no character. Most young people turn on an annoying distortion box anyway. Rics are for connoisseurs of tone.

Jetglo/black and Fireglo, ugly? Everyone's entitled to their opinion, I guess, but I like them, they should stay, in a budget line. Plenty of famous players who used black and red Rics, not as many who used green and blue ones. It would be cool they reintroduced their older solid-body guitars as cheaper options (such as the 610). (Rickenbacker did have some bolt-on neck models in the past, so they could do it again if they wanted to, actually.)

There is no end to the ways you can play this song, like most bluegrass. The banjo player likes G. The fiddle player likes D. I usually play it capo'ed on the 2nd fret with C chords, which is D. That way, the banjo player can capo up to 2 and play in regular G formation. Great song.

Sounds, and looks, absolutely great. Always loved (Japanese) ‘lawsuit’ Tokai guitars of the late 70s/early 80s, our lead player had a ‘Love Rock’ and an ES 335-style instrument and they were superb… more than the equal of the build and fit & finish of the originals, and sounds that were as close as made no difference. And the latest Chinese versions seem to be every bit as good, with sounds that are, arguably, even closer to the originals. I can only expect that the current Japanese examples will be even better! Great guitars, great value.

@@nachomaga Excellent. I wish these instruments had had a higher profile, here in the U.K., a few years back. They seemed to be very low profile, from my point of view, in the 00s/10s. I would certainly have given the Japanese versions a good try. As it was I finished up buying Gibson LPs (H/B & P90), and had to put quite a bit of work in, to get the best out of them, despite the much-vaunted Plek (lite!) they get at the factory. Fit/finish and overall presentation I would rate at about 7.5/10, at best. Is the flame in the maple, or is it a veneer over plain maple? Or, indeed, just a veneer over the mahogany?

As any asian young guitar, it need truss rod adjuments from time to time, until the wood slowly dry. If you are talking about the neck size, is big, similar to a 52 Telecaster reissue I have.
