Hiya, do you have to have a business bank account for these or can you use your personal account?
Is there a limit on the amount that you can accept with the Sum UP device? Thank you for your video.
Where’s Josh 😂
Love you Phil ❤
More uuuutubay content Phil 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Sounds like a podcast 😅
Great explanation. But too much preliminary chat!
When did your father pass away my friend
The big buddies only sixteen litres of water
Me living on the same road 😂
I couldn’t go on any longer than 5:30 . Essentially, you want to set up a business so you can take peoples money, but don’t really care how you get it . Mmmm cleaning got to be easy way to make money. 🤔 No mate I’m not even going into all the details
Thanks for your comment, not sure what you mean…we provide a service to customers who want it. The aim of the video was to share my thoughts on being able to start a business in gutter clearing from the safety of the ground.
Great video thanks, do you know if you can link to more than 1 phone at a time?
What a video 👍, i love numbers as well and would lovea copy of that spreadsheet if possible.
Can you make payment without reader
Do you think being a window cleaner is a kind of frowned upon job in the sense of social status ? Nice work on your videos .
With some people for sure, I think the stigma is portrayed across the entire cleaning industry.
what do you think of doing carpet cleaning as well as a an extra service. I pure water normal tap water ?
I like window cleaning as it’s a regular service that provides you with a stable consistent income, carpet cleaning could be a good additional service to add once you’re up and running with your regular round.
How are things going in 2024 ?
Really well to be honest, we’ve had our best quarter in Q1, Sorry there not been any updates for almost a year. This is something I want to get back to as soon as possible
There all good until the tiles are too close to the guttering, thick grass in the guttering or cement work in the guttering. If you can always do it by hand especially swan necks as this equipment can leave cement lodged in the downpipe still!
Unfortunately there will be times where you will need a ladder to be able to remove something or reconnect a downpipe, but 90% of the time you can clear the gutters on most properties without any issues. We use a go pro on the end of the window cleaning pole to inspect them before and after to ensure have done what we said to the customer.
What size?
Thank you for the video, really helpful
Your welcome, glad you found it helpful
How did you quote for the commercial job? Cheers
£60 for gutter clearing? damned if you are selling yourself short :) great vid, thank you :)
Thanks, I know right!
Great info into gutter cleaning, Im a gardener and the grass season is coming to the end and need something to get me trough winter, do you think gutter cleaning would be worth buy the sky vac will i make enought to get the money back soon. Whats your price you charge, how many jobs do you get per week. Many thanks.
Thank you for your comment, always do you research, see what others are charging in your area and how much of a demand there is. Perhaps ask your existing customers if they would be interested in an annual gutter clear for X amount. This will help you guide your decision
Great video
Thanks, much appreciated
I went on the forums and the guys whos been at it for years say if you dont have a ladder you aint gonna get the moss and crap stucj in gutter downpipes that gutter vacs just cant get out
Unfortunately if you go on to a window cleaning forum, and ask if water fed pole is better then traditional…I’m sure you will get loads of mixed reviews. We use a go pro to take photos before and after, this give us confidence in what we have done and then we can also show the customer for full transparency.
Bought one today how do you do payment if customers not with you
You can send them a payment link.
Could someone answer this question. Customer calls to pay over phone, is it possible to insert card details manually to confirm sale while customer on phone? Thanks
Great question, to be honest I’m not sure there is, but you can send them a payment link.
Well done. I’m starting up, got van and all wfp equipment and some customers. Do I need to get some experience or should I just start cleaning ? What did you do ? Thanks
Thanks, That’s great news! The only way is to cleaning windows and the more you do the better and quick you will get.
Great video. In the process of starting up myself. I have bought van and equipment to do water fed pole style. Do I know to get any experience at all or is it just as simple as going out and starting straight up ? Thanks
Do you have a source of power for the sky vac just incase the customer isnt in or cant get you external power?
Previously we would use the customers power supply, however last year we decided to invest to in two petrol generators…this way we can turn up, clear the gutters without needing for the customer to be home.
Hi, Can I add custom discount on products before charging the customers? Lets say my product price I setup in sumup is 50, but I wanna sell it in £30. can I minus 20 pounds? I Know this can be done in Zettle.
I am about to start my own window cleaning company here in Norfolk. I lost my recent job and I have a ford fiesta on finance 😂 so traditional way for me... just a man without a van. I was wondering how you quote prices, is it still £1 a window?
Sorry to hear that, appreciate it was 7 months ago that you posted the comment, so hopefully everything’s going ok for you. You can run a water fed pole system from your car, this was the plan when I started. At the beginning I went to see every property to quote, then as we grew we need to adapt a process and system for it, so no we offer fixed pricing depending on the size of the property etc
Really good advice, the PP credit thing is mega handy for new firms like mine, thanks for another great video.👍👏
Thanks, 100% it is if you want to start but don’t have the initial money to do so.
400 customers done by one person that's a lot for one individual, unless the guy was a busy fool doing it for peanuts.
Some of the work was underpriced, but in the main it was a good purchase and addition to the business.
That looks really smart.👍
Thanks
Well done. Growing fast!
Thanks
Things to note if starting out and points that many forget to mention new starters may be on a tight budget but you must factor in the following points 1, ensure your vehicle has business insurance not a private personal policy 2, familiarise yourself with your vehicles maximum load rating and ensure your own personal weight is included 3, you must have public liability insurance 4, any cargo you carry must be secured correctly regardless if it's a car or van. 5, you must use pure water not normal tap water like many have done I appreciate many think it's a cheap business to start out in however that is not true
These are great things for anyone to consider when starting out,
Excellent video. Many thanks!
Thanks
Wow that’s amazing what a great story mate …. Just wondering how you started on your very first few weeks ? How did you get work knocked doors website etc ? Did you struggle at first ? Love to know what’s best as just starting
Thanks for your comment, To be honest, at the start I was posting in Facebook groups, dropping leaflets etc The first few weeks will always be the hardest, because you’ve got loads of time on your hands and it can feel very daunting, but you must keep pushing through
Brilliant advice and what a great spread sheet. Your advice is really helping me, I'm just starting out and would love to be able to have the spread sheet to help me along the way. Would you be able to send it over to me please?
Best we all keep cash. Yes, these devices are great, but digital only is going to be a dangerous outcome.
To be honest, cash is a pain…esp post covid there’s still a lot of places that only take card…
Did your set up takes weeks to come ? Still awaiting the other half of my arrival 😢
Ohh no, I hope it’s arrived now…considering your comment was 8 months ago!
Thanks for the advice and motivation mate. Subscribed 👍🏽
Appreciated, thank you
Is this worth it in the UK because I’ve seen them charging like 10 pound for a big house whereas it’s like 250 dollars in USA lol
Depends on your area, your personal outgoings and how much you think is fair exchange for your time, experience and equipment.
Van looks great. How has it been going for you? Are you seeing a ROI from it?
Thanks for the comment, about two weeks after we have the van sign written we picked up £600 pressure job, so yeh 100%, having your vehicle sign written is the best thing to do.
Spotless van. Good luck with it.
Thanks
Enjoying your videos. You speak really well. Best of luck to you. Just subscribed. 👍
Thank you
Great content covering some interesting topics can you send me a copy to the spreadsheet please
Your vedio is very helpful, thanks.
Thanks
You mention the filling station. Could you please confirm if you mean using water at a petrol station or a specific location you use to fill water tanks?
Spotless water stations
We have a spotless water station local to us, which is like a petrol pump but for pure water
