Another Hipster

Previous owner of a Triumph Street Twin, now I have a BMW Urban GS. I'm a massive fan of the history behind these motorbikes and I ride with a very relaxed pace, i'm not here to show off and really I just enjoy looking at the old parts of the town and getting out for day trips,

Have big plans for whenever we can leave the UK for a holiday and I hope to really get the ball rolling soon!

Thanks for tuning in, i'd personally like to thank 'Helmet Head' for his support since the earliest days on my channel, a true gent and consumer of pies

Its great to see airbag vests becoming more popular. i was torn between this and the Furygan vests. This Furygan Evolution has level 2 back protector as back up, covers the neck better and can be used on the outside of a jacket or under in the same way. Only downside to some would be its subscription based. Things can only get better with these safety items in years to come. Thanks for the review.

when merging onto a motorway from the slip road its not your right of way and the traffic already on the motorway has right of way so you must either speed up or slow down or as you said stop and wait to join. same as UK.🙂

hi Eddie, generally i've found that as long as the wind is smooth its pretty easy to sit there for a few hours theres no real strain on my neck. But if its windy & you are being buffeted around then its tough stuff for longer than an hour. Just got back from crossing Spain in 1 day in the strong winds that was not fun

  • @AnotherHipster

yes there's a train called the Urlaubs Express going from Düsseldorf to Verona that carries vechicles but the company running it has changed hands lots over the past few years and it won't run in 2024 either. Something I considered & then just biking back on yourself once you get to Verona Italy is totally an option when they run again. Used to be same one to Austria but that has stopped running now too :(

Hi. Only found your channel the other day (23rd Feb ‘24) so a bit late to the party! Worth waiting for though! 👍 I took early retirement and set off in June 2019 on my GSA1200 to relocate (more or less permanently) to Athens. Ferry from Bari to Patras was good and, about 2 yrs later came back using the Patras to Ancona ferry. Ref your comments about Italian drivers, I found the standard of driving slowly improved from England, to France and peaked in competence, professionalism and courtesy somewhere around the Southern German border. Went tits up in Italy and just went down hill in Greece. It’s the “don’t give a shit Latin/Mediteranean temperament” which isn’t just confined to motoring! 😏. It’s why I bought my bike back to the U.K….before some knob wiped me out! Great videos…..more please!

thanks glad you are enjoying the videos. The Atlas pannier boxes are absolutely brilliant, i've had no issues with them and never had a leak even when my sat nav did get filled with water! The only thing i don't like is there isn't a way to leave them unlocked but still shut. But they look great & the mounting has been rock solid. I flipped my R9T over a few months ago on a dirt track, pannier ripped off but the frame hasn't bent & i'm awaiting a replacement clamp. No dents just a small scratch. I'd reccomend them, got mine from Pier City Custom in the UK they are lovely chaps👍
