Nice stove! I almost bought one of those stoves years ago but went with the smaller 602. It was a tad small so I switched it out for the Jotul F45. I like to mostly burn my stove with about an 8 hour reload schedule. When reloading I’ll rake all the coals forward then fill the stove full or maybe 3/4 full, let it burn wide open til my flue temp is up in the good range then shut her down. The stove top temp will settle in around 500-600 degrees for a few hours then slowly fall to about 200-300 by the time I’m ready to reload. So basically I do my reloads once in the morning, afternoon and then before bed. Warmer weather I can get away with a 12 hour reload schedule. This stove can hold coals a long time. How’s your chimney look when you sweep?

Great narrative and tour, Jake and Josh! Thank you so much - brought back memories. The B17 was built by Boeing in Seattle in 1943. In 1987-1991, I was stationed at Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, where the B26 Martin and B29 Super Fortress were built - in 1943 - the same year the B17 was built. Even the Enola Gay came off the assembly line at Offutt Air Force. The hangar where these aircraft were built was still in tact when I was stationed in Omaha. The hangar was massive - HUGE. Leadership turned the hanger into a gym. I remember running two times around it, which was 1.5 miles - that is huge! It contained basketball courts, racquetball courts, a pool, and so much more. They didn't change the structure - just what it contained - helping to justify its continued existence.
