Believing Brushy Bill Roberts is a fairy tale for adults. It is silly and baseless but compared to the other more dangerous conspiracies people believe in it is harmless and fun.

The majority of your eye witnesses would GLADLY make the CLAIM Billy was dead ...and possibly INCLUDING Garret ....especially if he would still get the reward ...so that leaves just a handful of people who did not know Billy well and might not recognize his dead corpse. You ever see a sleeping friend or even a relative and not recognize them ...I have more than once. Also on another BTK video you said something along the lines of "im not sure Billy was good or bad" ....well what part of a corrupt sherri do you not get? ...there is no more heinous a person as that leads to a complete break down of the judiciary process ...Billy was not perfect as are no heroes ...but he lead us out of the lawless west. Just like today ...when a Billionaire goes to jail it is a great day for the American masses!!!

I agree that the many of the people at Fort Sumner would have helped Billy escape. All it takes is for one person to have come forward to unravel the hoax, though. Your assertion that “that leaves a handful of people who did not know Billy well” is incorrect. There were people at Fort Sumner who knew Billy very well and who were actively working with Garrett. There is zero indication that Garrett would let Billy go. His entire career would then hinge on a young criminal never again reappearing AND the 200 residents of Fort Sumner (even those who did not like Billy) keeping their mouths shut. Are you talking about Sheriff Brady??

@Josh-Are you sure “Juan Largo” or “Long John” was because of his tall frame? My limited Spanish would say “Juan Alto” would be more indicative of height, but what do I know? Those señoritas sure knew something!

I am so glad to have uncovered this Podcast. I was blessed to have been chosen to have worked on the set of Young Guns II. I researched 18th Century Buildings used as hotsets that got shot up, the newspaper sketch of William Peterson that Emilio reads and shoots up as well as sketched the horse for a taxidermist to make when Emilio’s horse gets shot in the beginning. I spent a glorious four months on the set. Thank you for this podcast. How can I attach a picture from the set to you?

You could read accounts of the Spanish Inquisition or the Templar Confessions and be dismayed but descriptions of what Comanche and Apache did to White prisoners would turn your blood cold in your veins. Torture was not to extract any confession or useful information; they tortured people to death because they enjoyed it.
