I find that it works to cut the roots, then surround the plant with rocks under the soil. This suppports the plant and keeps the pot from tipping. I first found this works with Bromeliads but it would work with Aloe Vera.

thanks..I can plant seeds before dehydrating?
I suppose, I have never done that. The easiest and quickest way to start a new prickly pear cactus is to just plant one of the Naples leaves. You can just lay it on some worked mulch soil and it will grow. Do not have to bury it. Or you can stand the noodle upright and plant a few inches in the ground.
what do you use the aloe for have you made a how to video? thanks much
@@whitefamily4573 I use the gel internally, make a hair rinse, and freeze drying for powder to make creams & soap. I am just starting to freeze dry.
I mention about my hair rinse near the 5 minute mark. kzread.info/dash/bejne/hnep09GolJe8frA.htmlsi=DSIkd5sv1erF3VRs
Thank you for sharing this video. I wish I could show you my Aloe Vera. It was doing great, It's about 3 feet tall and now wants to tip over. It has a lot of pups and I have been using bamboo sticks to hold it in place as I'm afraid it will break. Your video is great and now I won't be afraid to transplant it along with the pups. Like you, I love Aloe Vera plants and have several in my house. I have transplanted a lot of the pups and given them away to people in our small village. Thanks again. God Bless you and your family.
You’re welcome I am glad I was helpful to you. You can also just cut the large one off leaving a long enough neck after removing whatever leaves you do not want on there and then replant the mother in a separate pot. Then let the pups grow in the original pot. Or you can remove all the pups and mother and repot. You still will have to remove leaves from the mother and if the main stem (neck) is not too long to the bottom where the roots are you may be able to keep roots but you can cut off roots and just replant in damp soil but not to wet. Be sure to leave a good 4-6 inches of main stem. If watched and watered occasionally when dry it should produce new roots.
Thank you sooo much . I watched you video just to know if blended seeds are safe to eat but i learned a lot more . Good work

Thank you for this! I have a big sucker I got from Lowe's and it's leaning now and has 3 pups that need re homed. Thank you for the education! I have to ask though, what's the purpose of the mesh vest?
@@govegan0424 Glad is was helpful. The outfit I was wearing was actually a modest bathing suit, and I prefer to wear the mesh vest when I’m not swimming. It gives a more modest appearance in my opinion. ☺️
@@Gods_creation.His_harvest very interesting! Now I know. Thank you for the explanation and again for the education on the plants!
@@govegan0424 your welcome and God bless ☺️🌸
I have 3 huge ones! They are growing curved and bending to the side. Can I cut the root all the way up to the size I need to have them grow upwards again? Will it survive if I do that? They are just too big the stems are toooo long to turn and twist to to try and fit into new pot. Please help. How can I add pictures here?
@@angelt2379 Yes, remove the pot from the soil and brush off the dirt. Turn it upside down and start pinching and removing all of the lower leaves that you don’t want you can save the ones that have gel in it if you want to use those, but if they’re dried up, just throw them away then keep going until you finally have the leaves that will make it look right when you put it right side up. Then make sure you keep about a 5 inch stem and just cut it and then you can just place that stem in the dirt. Make sure the dirt is slightly moist, just keep it watered occasionally but let dry out some between waterings, and always make sure it drains completely and there’s no water sitting at the bottom. It should grow new roots.
@@Gods_creation.His_harvest I will try it. I don’t have no other choice. I wish I could post a picture. Thank you so much for your help.

Thanks so much. Best aloe video. I have 3 that are massive but floppy due to my dark lil apt. Using larger pot to hold it up is genius and much prettier than trying to tie or stake it.

What if my stem is nearly 2 feet after trimming all the leaves off?? The aloe is huge but extremely droopy
@@fabuloushairbymelg.6308 just cut the stem to around 4-5”

Great Video, but where is the best place to buy and/or order organic Stevia.... thank you!!

So very helpful! I love your Name: GOD’s Everything 🙌🏾 I’ve had an aloe plant for about 1-2 years now and it’s still hanging in there. It’s grown pretty big and has started to make new roots/plants, so I’m looking into replanting! This was very helpful. I was wondering what to do with the big glass pots that don’t have holes at the bottom; I will be going to buy the smaller pots to put inside of them as you did. Thanks for the Tips! ✨

Hello 👋 I know this is an old video, but I'm hoping you'll sill see it. Your cactus are gorgeous 😍 What type are they? I love how they are not so large and they grow a lot of fruit ❤ thank you for sharing this video!
Hello yes it is old but I do get notifications when so one comments ☺️ This are prickly pear Cactus. If you lived by me I would give you one to start your own. They are easy to grow. But require full sun to bear good fruit.
I am so happy I found you! You have a great energy.
Thank you 😊 Glad it was helpful, God bless 🌸
Thank you for this. I've one that's scrawny, leggy and over 2ft tall. Its about to fall over. I had neglected it next to a north facing window (I live in england) but I've moved it to my office which is much brighter. There's been a bunch of pups appeared plus new leaves on the top. I now hope I'm correct in removing the oldest, bottom leaves rather than it's crown and shorten the stem.
Yes, you can pull out whole plant and remove pups to replant elsewhere or add back to pot after you have removed lower leaves and replanted. And yes you may have to cut roots off if too leggy and keep removing leaves until you can have a 3-4” stem and have the plant positioned correctly upright when repotting. Hope that helps ☺️
omgosh this is so so helpful!! Thanks
I am glad it was helpful 🌸☺️ God bless

Thanks for sharing your expertise - I recently bought my first one at a vintage store. I'm going to re-pot it now that I have a clue lol May God continue to bless you and your family😊😊

This aloe vera variety is barbadensis miller?
Yes
What species is that aloe vera in the video you potted up? Aloe vera perry or linn?
I believe all that I have is barbadensis Miller

Thank you for sharing. I have a very large leggy (indoor) aloe, a couple of months ago she SENT UP A PRETTY YELLOW FLOWER! Now that the flower is spent I really need to repot her. Thank you for the video.
Yes, it’s exciting. When you see those flowers come up not all mine produce flowers, but some of the larger ones will 🌸 I’m glad the video was helpful. God bless. ☺️
Hi, sorry. Can i pot aloe with snake plant together? Put a small Aloe in the middle and surround it with Snake plant leaves? Or do you have another suggestion? I live in Texas.
I wouldn’t personally snake plant grows differently than aloe.
Can U poit with snake plants?
I’m not sure about your question are you asking if you can repot snake plants?
I love the family vibz on the farm. Beautiful! Keep the love flowing and the videos coming! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you 😊 🌸
chickweed has a poisonous look alike as well if I remember correctly. The poisonous one has a square stem instead of a round one. Do you know what I’m talking about?
I know it well but if you don’t it is good to know what could appear at first glance as look alikes. Here is a link. Is the one you are speaking of in this article? thehomesteadinghippy.com/chickweed-lookalikes/
why do we need to remove roots
It depends on the plant. How large it is. If it is too leggy then keeping roots will make it hard to transplant. Sometimes you can repot in larger pot. But if it is a very large plant and you are removing lots of lower leaves then just starting fresh with the top part of the plant leaving a good amount of stem will be best. It will grown more roots if cared for properly.
Thank u for the video
You are very welcome 🤗☺️ God bless 🌸

Adorable little girl. Praise The Lord I found your channel, but please pray for me the food reactions stop. I can't even eat wild edibles anymore without issues. Last night made a wild edible soup extreme stomach pains.
So sorry 😞 It is important when working with something your body is unfamiliar with to take it slow. One thing I will say about curly dock is that it can be a gentle laxative. Take in moderation to see how your body reacts. Prayers and hope you feel better. 🙏
@@Gods_creation.His_harvest Thanks for your prayers and You are right, but I have been consuming these in small qauntities seperately for a while now and havn't had too many issues, my stomach is feeling a bit better now, so i'm going to go back to eating mono to pin point which one really effects me. Great video! Do you sell cuttings?
I am not in the business at the moment. Where do you live?
I was checking the pipes at my dad's home in New Hampshire to be sure they hadn't frozen when he was wintering in Florida 8 years ago and noticed that he had forgotten his aloe plant on the counter.. her outer leaves were frostbitten, but I took her home in her 6-inch pot, and she recovered just fine.. she's given me hundreds of pups and flowered this winter.. a gorgeous spike of pink bells that lasted for months and is just fading now, but her daughter also flowered a beautiful canopy thats still going strong she's too heavy now for me to lift alone <3
That’s great you were able to revive your Dad’s Aloe Vera plant:) 🪴

Glad it was helpful! Are you using the leaf (Napale) both the fruit and napale leaf is edible? God bless
@Gods_creation.His_harvest until the video I did not know pricly pear had fruit. Looking to buy and learn more
hm, I have only one, and it somehow managed to double in height over winter 😫 it was already top heavy in the autumn, so I put her against the wall, and then other plants came around her, and I didn't really see it entire winter, and it just grew, like crazy... it is smaller than yours, so it doesn't have any leaves that bend out of shape, and because it's growing like that, I don't think it needs bigger pot, and even if I did upgrade the pot, it would still be top heavy, unless I went with much bigger pot, so, I think I'll just do what you did here, and put her as is, in a bigger pot for support... I think that might work... she'll probably end up losing lower leaves due to being shaded by the bigger pot, but at least that way it'll be easier to cut her down to a more manageable size (height), guilt free...
I guess I would need to see a picture to visualize your Aloe.
Thank you ❤️🙏 perfect video and a lil more. My aloes have been going great guns. I haven’t been able to go wrong… until now. I previously used a mix of soil from my garden & top soil which was obs perfect. This time I repotted (in winter uk although they are indoor plants) in a sand, top soil & perlite mix. My large plants look healthy but the leaves are dying quickly from bottom to top so checked and a few have root rot 😫 I think they’re in too much soil and overwatered. I did dry them out for a few days prior to repotting and seems I am doing everything else right which is great news tbh. Your dialog could be me, and made me chuckle. I wanted to know how much stem I could bury as don’t want to cut the roots off this time of year. You’ve answered my questions and giving me a bit more confidence. Thanks so much. I love my healing aloe sooo much haha. I’ve been Making healing balm using candelilla wax, colloidal silver, yarrow salve and coconut oil. It’s brilliant stuff and lasts a few months without any added preservative. You say you vacuum seal yours in the fridge. How long does it last please? I’ve tried everything else and found that all other ways of preserving naturally means a big loss in quality. Thanks again. Xx
Hello Christine, it does sound like there was an overwatering issue or possibly soil combination is holding water too long. The soil needs to be able to drain well and dry between waterings. Would love your recipe you mentioned. That sounds great! The best way to keep Aloe fresh is to use as needed or when harvesting a lot I have vacuumed sealed and refrigerated but after a few weeks it tends even then to turn pinkish. My go to now is freezing on my feeeze dryer trays and when I have 4 ready they go in freeze dryer. I hope to do a video on that. I have paused making KZread’s because I have a busy homestead life but I am trying to get back into it again. I hope your Aloes improve. God bless 🌸
Can you repot a aloe Vera when it’s blooming
I suppose you can but you may want to enjoy the bloom and wait till it dies. They only last so long. 😊🌸

How long does it last after sealing?
It can last a few weeks or longer in fridge if vacuum sealed

@Gods_creation.His_harvest Please help. My aloe vera leaves are dark green, hard and only seem to produce liquid instead of gel😢 I live in a hot sunny place. So they get a lot of sun and grow upward, but I would like for them to produce gel, not just liquid. Any tips?
I am not sure how to answer that. Possibly they are water logged.
