Use polypropylene pipe, not pvc, this will keep chlorides off the heat exchanger. Of course, a two pipe system would encounter less back draft of corrosive chemicals.

What is amazing is how long electricity had been around when K&T wiring was implemented and they still had no idea what a ground was. I wonder what the life expectancy of an electrician was back then?

I’m an apprentice and used a pipe wrench today on a nut fitting and was very quickly told that you never do that. Use an adjustable wrench otherwise it strips the fitting. A pipe wrench is for PIPE, that’s the way they are designed.

The leakage could be from a device that's 220V and not wired correctly inside itself and causing leakage.

i believe mini split is only for those people who lives in a hot/tropical place. Mini split needs to have a maintenance twice a year and costs you depends in where you live. In my country mini split costs around 400-500USD and installation is around 100-120USD which does not sound much but it is in my country. Typically you can get a good 20 years if properly maintained.

So by tightening the bonding screw it essentially bonds the ground bar to the neutral bar? Or does it just bond the ground to the panel?

The use the right tool people, it looks like some of these worked though...and pretty well... Just saying... I will say some older Channel Locks were designed for round things though before this newer 90 degree head style. Buying two of either kind in Channel Lock, is still going to be cheaper than two Cobras or Alligators by Knipex but that said, Knipex is great but expensive. There are limits to what one wants to buy and carry... Until I got a couple of aluminum pipe wrenches I carried them much less and even then pliers have some appeal. Some of the use the right tool people come off as if we have never heard of pipe wrenches and or own none... Just saying...

I’ve decided to mount mine on a wall-bracket that is mounted to a post-stand. I am augering two 36” deep holes similar to fence post. My post are 6”x6”x6’. I’m routing two dado for 2x6 cross members. One for the wall mount top rail and one for the lower stand-offs. I have faux brick that comes up 3ft and I do not want to mount to it or through it.

The electrician on that job should be kicked off the job for leaving the place such a mess. No reason they couldn’t spend 15 minutes at the end of the day cleaning up! Always leaving a mess for everyone else to work around and ultimately clean up.

I work on MVAC, fan speed always on max and put recirculate on...ALWAYS. The same with a house do you open a window when you're charging a house? JS lmbo. Now as far as dye, it works well and I find it better than a sniffer just my opinion and if your look for a leak with dye if you don't want it in there flush it out, I mean once you find the leak you have to take the freon out anyways to fix it. I honestly think you did well even with a scale. I don't use scales I use a temp gauge and if it's a healthy system I can get normally 39 to 42 degrees coming out the vent. as of 2024 this will be the last year you can buy it everything goes to 1234yf. Be good bro
