Pretentious Navel-Gazing

I'm nobody
I'm a tramp, a bum, a hobo
I'm a boxcar and a jug of wine
And a straight razor ...if you get too close to me

2:52 "Holds six shots in the clip, one shot in the chamber. If you're dumb enough to put a round in the chamber". I had to re-watch the shootout and Travis did indeed fire seven shots, lol. Good detail.

Shouldn't this be called the fast eddie scene? Travis buys guns is just creative for me. The think tank that came up with that one is off the charts. ( my taco flavored kisses)

I may be fulla shit here, but something I find very interesting about this scene is this: we’re used to the secretive, hard-to-reach arms dealer usually being portrayed as a menacing, stoic, and capable expert. In this case, the trope almost seems inverted as the seller is just another sleazy scumbag exactly like the ones that drove Travis to this point. From senators to pimps to weapons dealers, on both sides of the law it seems that Travis simply perceives himself as being surrounded by lowlifes.

Be lucky to get any of those guns today for the price Bickle paid for all of them. Andy should have said about the magnum - "Crowd control. What am I talking about here?" And put it down.

Despite what many people say, I don't think Scorsese genuinely hit his stride until Goodfellas. Everything before that - Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, even Raging Bull - was restrained, compromised, self-conscious, tentative. Many of you will disagree. But I firmly believe that with Goodfellas, Scorsese truly flowered into his full range and became one of the greatest directors ever.

@@frwystrok dumbass. That’s what it stands for. However the “AUTOMATIC” refers to the type of AMMO. The GUN is a semi automatic. The actor clearly referred to the GUN though. So I stand by what I said.
