    I'll be precise and honest with my opinion. I like that video, you are talking with passion. The only thing I would point out is I'm not sure if you are prepared 100% there is too much ''kinda'' for my taste I would like the review to be more scripted and factual than personal again this is my approach and opinion only. Cheers

    When you pull out that built-in lens hood, if you twist it, you can actually screw it in a little tighter and lock it in place.

    nice review mate cheers I'm a long time fan of Minolta my dad gave me a 7000 as a young fella, I then bought a new Dynax 9 stil my absolute favorite slr, I've since added a wee hi-matic, and X300 and today at an opshop (charity shop) I picked up an X-7A with a couple of lenses for 15 NZD in my book that's a give away. Looking forward to getting some fresh batteries and a roll of film. Liked and subbed cheers

    If I want to shoot a figure outside of the window, what setting do I have to do?

  • @DrunkCameraReviews

    All you have to do is turn the dial on the top to set the focus distance. That cancels out the autofocus so you can shoot through a window

    hey dude nice video! thank you so much im looking to get this one but i have a qestion does this camara take color photos? or is it a thing about the roll?

  • @DrunkCameraReviews
    @DrunkCameraReviews2 жыл бұрын

    What images you get from it are all dependant on the film roll you use in the camera, like Kodak Portra 400 for color or Kodak TriX for black and white

    I use the exposure bracketing on occasion, mainly when I’m concerned about shadow detail. I'll set the exposure bracketing to take an additional shot with 2/3 or 1 stop of additional exposure.

    Thanks for making this review. I am currently doing my research on the F6. I have the 105mm f2 DC lens, which is the "younger sibling" of the 135mm f2 DC that you have. They both produce very creamy looking bokeh. Based on my understanding, to get the best results, you have to set the defocus control to the same aperture that you are shooting with. Ideally, you will set the defocus control aperture going towards "R" (rear defocus). You can also use the "F" (front defocus) apertures. However, many people think that the results do not look natural with "F" because the objects in front of your focus point will be blurred instead of objects behind the focus point. If you are using a smaller aperture such as f4, you can set the defocus control to f2, f2.8, or f4 (ideally using "R" as I mentioned previously). If you set the defocus control to an aperture that is smaller than the aperture you are shooting with, you will get soft images as you mentioned on your review. For example, if you are shooting at f2 and set the defocus control aperture to f4 (F or R), you will get a softer image. Some people may do it on purpose though for creative reasons. That is what makes the DC lenses so fun to use in my opinion.

    Hello! I'm sorry about the lack of videos. I have been wanting to make another video but I have been occupied with a new job, new friends, and another hobby. I still shoot film but I need to work on getting more of it developed. I've got 4 new film cameras that I could review but I need to decide on a time to do that

    My cousin knows I am into all things vintage and he gave me a Petri FT camera. Using DSLRs all my life I had no intent of getting into film photography until this came into my possession. My Petri looks like it is in good shape, I just bought film and batteries for it and I hope it actually works.

    Have never seen an MC 10. Just bought a used MC in Jan.2022 - probably for 2 much. I think it is a riff off the Olympus XA - except this is a much older AF system…

  • @DrunkCameraReviews
    @DrunkCameraReviews2 жыл бұрын

    I agree with the AF system being older. It's much slower than my Stylus Epic but the image quality from the Canon is definitely still good.

    Excellent video! I'm very eager to get a F6. I own the same two lenses and use them with my D850. I actually sold the kit 24-120 f4 just because it's so much softer than the 50mm and the 135mm DC... Now, DC (I own one for 5 years, bought new): - when you keep it in the middle, it is indeed the sharpest. It's actually incredibly sharp, but it takes a very good (and aligned) AF system to get it going. I always thought it was too soft but only after I moved from the D7000 to the D850 I could see how good it is. - you can still get 90% of the sharpness by setting the DC ring to the same aperture you are using, but it shifts the focus position a bit and it takes a very precise camera to get it right (live view brings excellent results). - if you go beyond the aperture - like you are on f2 but set the DC to f4, then you get an optical soft focus effect. Things that kids these days do in Photoshop... - the focus ring is DELICIOUS. It's creamy even in the middle - it just gets creamier when you set DC to the same aperture. If you want the back focus to look better, use the rear option. But then be careful because the foreground boken will be kinda harsh (and vice versa). What's incredible about this lens is that it was designed to make the skin look better OPTICALLY. I can't recall the source now, but it was designed so the lens is a tad softer on skin tones. Clever, isn't it? This lens is the main reason I didn't go mirrorless, as it won't autofocus with the FTZ adapter.

    the wp1 is supposed to rewind automatically, i managed to find one with all its original packaging (!!! i almost cried) and once the film runs out it should just rewind but i think you have to take a shot more than your roll and then it registers and rewinds

    The blue leatherette is probably an after market modification. A web search for "canonet leatherette colors" shows a number of kits with pre-cut replacement leatherette in different colors, and even services which will do the job for you. The search terms I used: "canonet leatherette colors".
