  for me, dodge on the house only shows inside the female and not in the transparent areas. Will investigate what I am doing wrong.

  For some reason, when I set my background to the size canvas I want, then add a picture and try to scale it, it changes the scale of the background, thus, destroying the canvass size I'm trying to achieve. Any idea why? I'm on a mac.

  this was nice I've been using GIMP off and on I've been writing a music theory guitar book came along way with that. This is really helping. I got the newest version 2.10.32 GIMP on a mini mac ventura computer.

  Too fast. You click on a tool with a cursor that is near on impossible to see on screen - then you say, "click on the X tool." I'm busy looking for the X tool, and you have already made the move. Can you highlight the cursor and pace the delivery so that you say what you are going to do next then do it deliberately and slowly?

  Subscribe to this channel is a no-brainer. One of the best tutorials I've seen in a while. You're a gifted artist and an excellent instructor. Thanks for sharing your blessings. I've never heard of GIMP before today, but upon completion of a new book, I got the idea to help my 10y/o daughter learn to edit and format manuscripts. Honestly, she's excited to work with daddy, but I was concerned that the tedium might turn to disinterest. This app, which is affordable, along with your video is right on time! Please forgive my lack of brevity, but it's a real challenge for kids to find a vocation that is rewarding. I appreciate you.

  Thank you for sharing these trade secrets! I always scratch my head at getting the finished look for image covers. Most of my covers are typography-based because I grew to dislike image manipulation but these tutorials make me want to try again.

  Thanks for the video! I already use Gimp but your tips are great. I also prefer to run Gimp in Linux but it's all right in Windows and Mac too.

  Hi, just want to say thank you for this video. I have been able to make covers for at least three or four of my books thanks to your video. Whenever time passes and I write a new book only to realize that I have forgotten how to make a cover, I find myself coming back to this same video. Very grateful for this.

  Good video. The problem I'm having is getting my image to be same size as my transparent layer. Can my picture be too big to use?

  Ah! No, so go to the sale tool, and you can scale your image by dragging the corners in. If it's so wide that you can't find the corners, you can zoom out until you see the entire frame of the image, or (the tedious option) click in the image using the scale tool and drag it wherever the center of the image is. you can do this from any direction until it is the size of your liking, but that's just the - you don't mind wasting time option.
