Great video! Thank you for sharing the auditor's role in coding. 💙🩵
Thanks again for all your help! ❤
Hello!
Hello!
I so appreciate your honesty, I can't wait to get started, classes begin in two weeks and I'm so excited. One day at a time
You got this!
Thank you as of now I am in the Medical Terminology study. This is my impression of this medical language ; it is as a never ending story. For me this story is very interesting. I was out of high school when the internet was added to the school learning resource. I relate to the old school study and learning method. Thank you for the tips. 💙💙💙
Would 5 years of doing patient care as MA be considered reasonable experience for a medical coder job opening? Considering im an entry level medical coder.
Thank you ! Thank you from this present day August 1st , 2024 I am wondering if those former exam study guides with answers are relevant in this present day of 2024 ? Do I need to get updated versions to benefit my self studies? I hope I am asking the question in the correct way. Thank you Ms Blue . 💙💙
Hi Bleu! Thank you for your videos they have been a great help! My question is.. is it possible to do two courses a month? I am Pregnant and baby is due for arrival in February so I would like to complete two before January that way I can take a month or two off while I recover.
Those class on the AHIMA website are self paced however fast you go through them is up to you. I will say this though, please make sure you understand the material before moving ahead to the next course.
@@MedicalCodingwithBleu Thank you for your quick response!
🤦🏾♀️ 😂 I always appreciate these videos!
You are right. I had to drop a medical coding course because the instructors were extremely disorganized, bad grammar and couldn't read the medical terminology correctly or not even try to say it so it was difficult to follow. The instructor repeatedly said "pacific" and "pacifically" when she meant specific. And these were instructors who've had 20+ years in the field. I personally need people to be more professional. Sometimes I feel like our future is cooked because people are lazy about learning.
Music to my ears! You get it. I feel like while there's still people that think like you and me, there is hope!
I have an Associate degree in medical billing and coding. I graduated with honor in 2006. Well, I never work in the field due to illness. Thank God my student loan was forgiven. Now I want to use my degree. Can someone guide me on how to work part-time at home with a flexible schedule. I'm tight on budget. This inflation is killing me.
Thank you for the motivation and inspiration to us we have skilled willing to start our career as mc ....skilled speaks louder than a a just a bachelors holder
You’re no nonsense. I have slowly began obtaining materials to self study. I would like to start coding after I retire. Starting a 2nd career is nerve racking, but I think it’ll be worth it.
You should go through Bleu's channel and watch the majority of her videos. She shares great advice on a variety of subjects that are related to coding.
@@lunawolf3804 definitely have. Been kinda working my way backwards.
Great video, Bleu! 💙🩵
Boom 💥
😂😂😂❤🙏🏾
I'm so glad you said that about the temp agency. It's been about 15 years that I've been in a hospital/clinical setting. I'm looking to temp agencies and volunteer part time through the Red Cross to add to my resume and network up.
Thank you for tonight’s podcast. I am greatly encouraged. Thank you for all the tips and directives. 💙💙
Thank you for sharing your story. 💙
Have you done a video about those who completed the degree but don’t have past jobs that would help? I’ve driven a bus for last 12 years and I feel like my resume looks ridiculous 😂 love your videos❤
Thank you so much for your video and roadmap to medical coding. It really means alot!! Im a nurse of 12 years and looking so hard for something to do instead of direct patient care. ❤
I'm so glad! Best wishes on your journey!
@@MedicalCodingwithBleu thank you. I want to cry. Just thank you.
Thanks!
Thank you so much! 💙
Thank you for all your videos..They are so helpful. ❤
Bleu, I have a question. Ive been a nurse for almost 40 yrs now..have done more quality/chart audits/Hedis and director positions. I have a bachelors as well. We used to do icd9 as a nurse too..Wondering your thoughts for the CPMA.
My thoughts expressed in the video wasn't enough?
Thank you for your helpful advice and tips. I just wondering as a new coder does anyone will double check my work to be sure that I don’t make mistakes!
Hi- is it necessary/important to obtain CCA before working toward CCS? Trying to understand if there is a progression to obtaining the CCS credential.
Another awesome video! Thank u for making things simple, direct, and to the point 🤓👍
failed 2xs and took aapc class that was to fast passed. I feel like such a failure and wasted money. I am a biller for a hospital and I have wanted to be a coder for along time.
Don't give up! Keep studying! You'll get it.
I am going to keep applying, it hasn’t been easy a lot of places asking for experienced coders. For a position I passed the assessment yet because I didn’t have experience they didn’t hire me. I’m still hopeful , God didn’t bring me this far for nothing. I have the RHIT and ccs-p. I am a patient coordinator now so I’m in health care so I’m hopeful. ❤thanks for your great advice as always
Thank you 💙💙💙
Thank you for this! I’m just starting out and I’m sure I will come back to this video a few times. Where do you get the workbooks?
Which should I get, the CPC or CCS? I have been researching this so much, yet still can't make my decision. Can I get the CCS take training then pass a test in less than a year, or do I need prior coding experience for this. I would like to have the ability to do both inpatient and outpatient
If you know you want to do inpatient and outpatient, I don't know why you can't make that decision. There's only one of those two credentials that includes both.
Can I get the CCS, is there training to get that in one year or less with no prior experience?
@@hillarytrotter9240 ma'am are you looking at the website?
Yes
I dont see a specific training program to receive the ccs
I love your crisp, clean, straight forward explanation! Thank you 🙏🏾
Preach ma'am
Bleu, thank you SO much for your videos! Your channel has been so helpful as a person looking to switch careers. I appreciate you!
I just turned 63.... I'm going for it!!🎉😊
That's awesome!! 💙 You can do it!!
Do you still have the syllabus available? I know this is an older video.
I know I have newer videos.
Can I go for my CCS without having my CCA certification? I have my diploma but haven't taken the test. Thank you in advance

Very helpful content. Thank you.
Thank you so much. I appreciate all your knowledge!
Bleu, you are amazing, a powerhouse! I'm enjoying your videos. At age 63 I will probably be seeking your resume and interviewing help. I'm planning to get training for medical coding and billing. Thank you for all you've done.❤
What is it like working in a team? Do you work with a team of coders on site/or remote? Is it individual based -team based?
I am watching this as part of my self study / I am also in an okay program but this is a great supplement for studying for me. I am finding my way through this study . Thank you so much 💙💙💙
Is there a practice version of the encoder software?
I felt this one. Thanks ❤❤
Best information ever!
Hi Bleu. You are correct. The CCS and the CCS-P are two very different credentials. The CCS is the mastery of both inpatient and outpatient facility coding. The CCS-P is the mastery of physician based and pro-fee coding. That is why when you get the CCS the CCS-P is not disolved.
Where can I get the worlbooks
Workbooks
What are the code books?
Great information! Thank you so much 😊
