Trying to learn guitar in my 40's. Posting mediocre covers at best, but mostly shit.
I tried to learn guitar years ago but only got as far as a few chords due to poor teaching so i stopped.
I bought a PRS Se in 2018 (which i love) and tried to learn myself, not really taking it seriously but just messing about with bits of riffs, but this also faded out.
In December 2021 i decided to try and learn in properly and take it seriously so i set up an instagram and You Tube and started recording myself, which in fairness was the best thing ive done as i can see improvement and where I'm struggling. Im hoping to achieve my end goals of Canon Rock, Cliffs Of Dover and the Beat It solo.
My videos are not perfect, you will find dodgy sounding notes or timing out even missed notes but im hoping to keep improving and getting better and better. 🎸 🎸 🎸

@@guitar_begins_at_40 Yeah sometimes that happens with backing tracks or older recordings. If you have google chrome, there is a browser extension called Transpose that allows you to change the pitch of youtube videos to match your tuning. I do it all the time because I tune to Eb and it makes learning songs in standard easy!

@guitar_begins_at_40 Yeah Eagles can't do. So dumb. I always get blocked 🚫 when I do ACDC. But I file the complaint thing, and explain just having fun, I'm making no money, I'm paying tribute etc. Then it gets unblocked. Just depends on record company.
