You might not think this is a particularly memorable game unless you follow either of these teams but as we see, for fans of Ipswich, Arsenal and England in the 70s and 80s it also shows rare footage of an early performance from our late, great Paul Mariner. Rare indeed and priceless for it!

Great times to watch football, just bought a 74 replica shirt, just black and white, the city coat of arms on the chest and no sponsorship slapped owwa it. The pitch was in good nick considering the era. Sadly though in good old Newcastle fashion we sold him but what a player ❤❤

Thanks for the memories! That headed goal against Ray Clemence of Liverpool at Portman Road in 1976, to me was his "graduation thesis" for 1st division English football. A great player, an outstanding man, a remarkable human being! Thank you, Paul!!!

Jimmy Greaves was the real deal as a striker. Ahead of his time, he could read a pass before his team mate had even thought of it. The consummate forward for any generation. ⚽️👍🏻

Brilliant goal from a very underatted player. Look at the state of the pitch. Pep and the rest of the managers today would have a fit! Modern players don't realise how lucky they are to play on good pitches all season long.

What a keeper, and also a great bloke. When I heard Ray was leaving Liverpool, it was as devastating as when Kevin Keegan left four years earlier. Like Kev, Ray wanted a new challenge after winning everything there was to with Liverpool, and he also gave Spurs great service - and no doubt Spurs fans also have great memories of the great man. One of football's greatest ever keepers, and certainly Liverpool's greatest.

Liverpool, Aston Villa and Notthingham Forest won the European Cup in the late 70's and early 80's but England's national football team were defeated by Norway. By the way 'home of the giants' is from a Norwegian poem "A toast for Norway", from the 19th century, I guess. "For Norway, home of the giants". edit. Actually Norway's national anthem 1814-1820

Big, strong, bustling, bruising centre forward of the old school. Forget Shearer, had this guy been given the same number of caps, he’d have outscored Shearer all ends up: The one and only Supermac!

A wonderful day. The first time as a 10 year old boy that I watched a football match all the way through. It was a true occasion in the old fashioned tradition of how great Cup Final day was. A truly memorable day for all the right reasons. The underdogs won and a humble man became a hero to Town fans everywhere.

Francis Lee was the first ever English player I remember. In 1970 I have watched the final game between Gornik Zabrze (Poland) and MC. I was 8 years old that time. I remember Lee was very fast and dangerous attacker. He is still one of my favorite English player besides Keegan, Clarke and Channon.

For me? One of the greatest players, to pull on a Chelsea kit. I'm from Kensington and Chelsea originally. Kynance Mews to be exact. Where I lived with my parents. Left with my job, transferred all over the 🌏 After University. Moved to the ☀ 15 years ago. Still remember the playboys. 😂 Way before Robbie Fowlers lot 🤔 Always look for Chelsea's results. My fave player modern day I suppose, though 20 years ago is Drogba.
