I love the playing, I love the music, and I love how good this piano sounds.
I am reading Roger Woodward's autobiography (Beyond Black and White) and discovering a whole world of classical music from behind the scenes. I am enjoying both very much.
Amazing!!! I can't begin to imagine how you deciphered that score to create such a unified whole! Bravo.
Thank you for posting! Would love to hear Beethoven op 111 originally released on LP
This deserves... Much... Much... More views... Honestly... Your rendition of Op.67 N°1 is incredible... Magic... Ethereal... This is excellent!!!
So there are two schools of thought said Tico: some figure Feldman knew my iPhone could play his music at .25 speed. Like a martyr he provided the idea but not the manifestation of what he hoped…(some suggest KNEW)…might be understood some half century later. Others are convinced he couldn’t have known this technology would be at evrymans fingertips. Much like speculation on Jesus we here too simply cannot know. But I pity the individual who stubbornly refuses the good news, has not the very ears to hear, or is simply afraid ( the crosseyed parrot flutters with fear; when something he doesn’t know about suddenly appears) to listen to Feldman at 25% playback speed.
Sorry I meant Tuco (said it to Blondie).
A wonderful slower tempo- even slower than your younger recordings. Superb Chopin sense of improvisation throughout this beautiful nocturne. Real rubato. 😊
Always something amazing here to listen to!
Nice playing Roger, I remember the premiere in Newcastle, you also played Bartok 2.
Beautiful playing.
Heard this version on ABC Classic FM. Excellent performance !
Marvellous! What a combination: music by George Gershwin, arrangement by Percy Grainger, performed by Roger Woodward. There could not be a better combination!
This is the 1974 revision for the BBC Proms (with Martin Jones) rather than the original 1966 for John Ogden at the Cheltenham Festival, which only affects the last movement.
Beautiful!
Magnifique et toujours poétique. Quelle clarté dans les rythmes. Merci.
Just found Book 1! About to start Book 2 - most enjoyable; such a sane performance. Thanks
... what a charming, delightfully paced interpretation. Bravo
Une sacrée version...Magnifique ! Bien supérieure à d'autres plus connues. Merci encore. ❤
Beauté irréversible et immatérielle...❤
J'adore cet artiste, intelligent, raffiné et moderne . Il comprend å merveille ce que veut le compositeur. Merci encore. ❤
Roslavets...rare music indeed. My favourite is the Prelude 1915.
why does youtube keep interrupting the performance with ads? This just ruins the entire experience, I cant stand it!
Thank you so much for performing and uploading all of this wonderful music!
it is a wonderful performance
This deserves so many more views
Thanks for uploading these Sarcasmes.
Best ever recording of this flawed but aspirational work. I always loved the energy and bravura of the playing. My LP wore out years ago so wonderful to find it here again. The F# Polonaise was on there too.
Beautiful!
Beautiful playing.
🎉
Beautiful playing.
Excellent playing.
Beautifully played.
Beautiful playing.
Sillly question... where did you find the variant you play in measure 11 of Op.23 Nr.12?
There were several Soviet publications of the Rakhmaninov Preludes which incorporated the composer's tendency to add ossias. The Third Piano Concerto is a good example. They do not stop at a few notes or measures but provide extended alternatives to whole sections such as the first movement cadenza.
❤❤❤

who is better - you or David Helfgott, in your opinion?
Fantastic playing! What a joy to listen to this alongside your Xenakis :)
Excellent!
A wonderful performance of Chopin's masterpieces. [ A minor point: nos. 10 and 11 are in major keys!]
Anyone watching Roger's channel should consider subscribing - we are talking THE Roger Woodward here, people!
