Hawaii Public Radio

Hawaii Public Radio

"It was on November 13th, 1981, from an improvised studio in the quarry area of UH Mānoa. A switch was thrown, several buttons were pushed. And out came the lush and wild strains of Mahler's "Das Lied von der Erde." Hawaii Public Radio was finally on the air!"
- Cliff Eblen, HPR's first President and General Manager

Founded in 1981, member-supported Hawai‘i Public Radio provides two streams statewide: HPR-1 with news, talk, and a variety of music, and HPR-2, your home for classical music. Tune in the old fashioned way, or stream via our website or the HPR app. See more at www.hawaiipublicradio.org/

Learn how to share? This valley is sacred to me and my wife just as much as any other Hawaiian, and we can’t visit because all the hermits growing drugs don’t want anyone seeing their crops.

Who determines misinformation? Who answers to the temperature and degree of heat that it takes to melt glass is far above a wild fires temperature? Who answers to the impossible to be a coincidence that Josh Green called the emergency proclamation weeks before the emergency? We know that law enforcement was sending people back into the fire hindering and blocking those trying to evacuate because we saw it on livestream video. We know the Maui police chief Pellitiere was the head of the investigation of the Vegas Massacre (Vegas Shooting) that did not recieve a complete and full investigation of answered questions.................I could go on..............do you really think these are just random coincidences?.What does it take for people to stop looking for answers outside of themselves? Each of us were born with our own inner knowing mechanisms. If yours has been in the off positiion for a while.....its time to turn it on and brush off the cobwebs because YOU are your most trusted source of truth finding. Anyone expecting their information to be determined accurate or inaccurate by someone else is plain lazy? If you DO YOUR OWN WORK and reseach then youre golden and you dont need anothers approval, agreement, permission etc. God gave us free will for a reason............its the best gift of all...........use it ........its free!

Savannah and Russell, Thank You for this Podcast! I have always had a fascination with Lanai. (And yeah, a good bit of Jealously, from not being alive back then and being able to buy a Hawaiian Island....... LOL!) Great Info and well presented! Thanks Again! Spyder

It's not a land grab...it's tyranny. Correct me if I'm wrong, Hawaii is a nation occupied by a foreign government, that government being the U.S

My grandparents lived in Waimea for about 40 years. Thinking about taking my wife next month. I havent been back in 20+ years. Kinda sad knowing the island isnt going to be anything like it was when we were kids. Im sure Waipio has changed as well. Tourists ruin everything they touch.
