    Don’t you have to buy most of these at like 170k miles on them just to keep them under 10k? They’re practically done at that point

    I have a 2001 Saab 9-5 2.3T Wagon auto w/ 100k miles in amazing condition, in my driveway. Runs and drives great, gets amazing gas mileage and shifts as smooth as my 8HP90. Doesn't pass emissions so it's been sitting for a year because the cost to replace the parts is equal to buying a Saab that already passes emissions here in California, USA

    Jack , thank you. Brilliant, I bought a ‘54 plate 3dr fiesta for our daughter’s first car very happy with the car and I went with Stirling for the insurance. What made a huge difference to the price was putting the V5 in her name and anding mother and father on as name drivers . The policy however is void the day she passes her test but in our case I suspect this could be some time. We love your videos thank you again

    Hey mate, wont be long til you have thousands of subscribers if you continue to present great videos like this. You come across a natural presenter who knows his subject matter intimately. Your videos impart a lot of information without it getting bogged down in detail, I like the graphical comparison you used, is a great way to get perspective on content. Look forward to more videos form you. Have you done a fast Estate car video yet? If you were do something in a under £3k range would be of interest. Cheers

    Another good video, very informative as usual. We bought my oldest child's car based on it having a 5 star Euroncap rating. Obviously primarily for their safety but, also as some companies will reduce the cost of the insurance quote for a safer car with better safety features. Unfortunately it had the dreaded black box for a year to reduce the premium, personally these are good from a not speeding point of view but, a dangerous distraction as you end up watching the speedo way too much and not the road... We found that a certain company beginning with an H gives good quotes and then upon renewal doubles the quote every time until you ring and say I'm going to cancel and then magically reduces the premium.

    I used to own an e320cdi, 2008 reg. It had the optional air suspension. My favourite car that I've owned so far. You notice the little details that mercedes has paid attention to, like the heated seats, only car where the whole of the seat heats up, not just the centre part. The unfortunate thing is, it was horrendous on fuel. Over my 14 months of owning it, I averaged 18-20 mpg, even on a run it struggled to touch 40mpg.

    I would never buy unseen as I’d rather invest the time and effort to check it out myself, but understand times are changing and people have far less time and prepared to take the risk, especially if buying from reputable garage so you have a good chance of getting your money back if not as described. Great content and keep it coming

    We scrapped our E320cdi. Was prestine and max spec. 97k on the clock. Wasn't Ulez compliant hence we had to get rid of it as it wasn't being driven. Nobody wanted to buy it for a fair price or was offering the same or way less than the scrappage scheme. A real shame as it was a beautiful car. Here is something I noticed. Ours was a 2005 avantgarde v6. Many of the ones that were E320cdis from 2007/2009 which are the Sport model strangely are Ulez compliant. I even contacted Mercedes Benz about this and why those were compliant and mine was not. Was informed they shouldn't be and TFL may have a classification error. I was tempted to buy another E320cdi but a sport as you can often pick them up from salvage auctions for 1k or so as nobody is buying them now as they are 15 or so years old.

    Hi. As you know I bought one. Mine was bought from a trader over a 100miles away without me seeing it. I had a water leak and new radiator fixed by the trader after a bit of a standoff. The car needed new brake lines and rear shocks at the next mot and despite a pokey remap and just turning over 200k has been utterly reliable. I have owned over 30 cars some of them nearly new and this is the best by far. Utterly reliable, near Saab levels of comfort, lexus + build and near BMW handling but, much better ride. If there is a better all rounder for under 10k I haven't heard of it. Just to add, a remapped E280cdi can be anywhere from 230 to well over 300bhp depending upon economy, stage1/2 mapping, you can easily go way more than 300bhp/700nm but, the extra torque might upset the gearbox😅 Glad you got your deposit back. Another great, video this channel needs way more subscribers ❤

    Can I firstly (try) to put you off the idea of an R53 , I Have owned a 2004 one since 2018 ,,, its eaten my Bank Account , Credit Card & had me withdraw Pension Funds some 10 years early..... Don't get me wrong I love it , and SOME of the money spent has been my wanting a real head- turner and using a Quick , Fun Modern Classic for day to day use...lots of people say how nicely its been done ....which is great, Very flattering and all.. But its VERY, VERY fragile ....the engine Isn't desirous of tuning ...Age stops that if you dont want breakdown ....and yes , at 20 years old I expected Bills .... BUT try £8k + @ the last count Since then ....I've Shat meself thinking about it ....& I'm Advised .....and trust me ...I know better after 36 years Selling Every car make you can imagine for a living....that they are " On The Up" ....What Bollox .....Nails are STILL £1500 ..HALF TIDY' S ( Read loads of work ) £3000 , And so called " Mint all Original " Are 5- 7 K ...Best of British with that .....I bet mines worth 3k tops.. Fuck It ...I will keep it till it dies before I blow all that. So , I am going to Buy a Swift Sport 2011 on ( Like I should have done) have Zero issues ... Most likely get from A- Z just as quickly ... and Save £600 a year on Tax and Insurance ( I'm 60 , 20 years NCB and Clean Licence Since 2003 ....) £673 next time apparently...want an investment? Buy a 60's Lambretta ....Get Soaked...55 Mph Max ... But everyone will admire it ....and that IS ONLY GOING UP! " And Cover the Cooper up I Will.." 200Kid

    I had a 2003 Saab 95 aero hot manual a few years ago and it was a brilliant car. It had been mapped by noobtune to just shy of 300bhp and still retaining high 20’s mpg on average. And it was comfy. It was like driving a soft arm chair. And because most people didn’t know what it was it used to surprise a lot of people in things like imprezas and vxr’s 😅 and it was cheap to insure too. I was 25 at the time and had 3 points but it was less than £1000 for the year where as an equivalent powered more common car would have been way more expensive. I’d have another in a heartbeat but I’d go for a wagon this time around. The saloon has a huge boot but lacks a bit of practicality because of the lack of height.

  • @drivenbydatacars
    @drivenbydatacars7 ай бұрын

    Haha yes it is like a fast comfy armchair! I bet they are good fun with a manual box, only tried the auto. I love the estate practicality and tbh I prefer the look of them to the saloon for the 9-5. Interesting that it was cheap on insurance, not a common boy racer car I guess haha

    Hi again. Another really good video. Many years ago i had a phase 2 172 clio and unequivocally it was the best handling/driving hot hatch in its class. They were also so much quicker than the other cars in this video. Yes same crap quality as the other cars especially the ford but utterly brilliant to drive with great brakes, used to mug my mates tuned elise and base spec boxster😂

One of my good mates had a clio 2 for his first car, only a 1.2 but i remember it handled the best of all the little hatches we had between us except the 306. Not surprised about the boxster but I am surprised about the elise!! Must have been satisfying
