The Carradines were the grindhouse Barrymores...any old thing for a paycheck. John was a known resolute liberal, and he must've been cracking up internally while he spat this paranoiac shitstorm into a microphone. He would have picked your nose for a dollar.

I’m convinced the first scripted line read “I want to tell you about the Child Seducers” and he insisted on changing it to “I’m going to tell you”. Zero evidence but that’s how it sounds 😌

Man, you gotta wonder what its like to live in this kind of fear. Being fully convinced an apocalypse is coming, no one is listening, then boom, the day comes... Then you gotta think about what goes through thier mind at that exact moment. That the day has come and nothing has happened. And what do they do now. Its crazy the kind of stress that would cause a person.

The soundtrack in the "Hawaii Sang Me To Sleep" clip seems to have been dubbed, as Sol Hoopii's steel guitar is acoustic in the film, yet obviously electric on the soundtrack. Also the [unknown] singer/dancer is miming, the actual vocalist surely being Constance Moore, one of the stars of the film, she being the singer in the song "My Loneliness Has Ended", which has the same wonderful intonation, etc. But why wasn't Constance shown to be the singer of "H.S.M.T.S." I wonder? A pity the whole of the "Hawaiian Nights [1939] film cannot apparently be resurrected onto You Tube.

I could make a comment about the manager not being of the same background as the girl, and with bottled up centuries of resentment, will take any opportunity to settle scores. It applies to store managers as it does to cops. I'm sure many of you have made the same observation.

We remember watching "Kup's Show" with Irv Kupcinet, and used to watch these in Late Night every Saturday Night as our local PBS station KAET Channel 8 in Phoenix was airing it when we were young and living in Arizona, and up late watching his 60 minute talk show. And Marty Robinson was the announcer on the program, and it was quite a program without commercials on Public Television.

@@satanmacnuggit Sort of? It was more for movies that weren't getting full theatrical releases I think. I remember watching films like Kedi, Africa United, Bush Christmas (?), Mara and the Firebringer and some of the pokemon movies there. EDIT: At the risk of giving away too much, the cinema is part of a larger complex that serves as a media archive, which makes sense as to why they showed it!
