For my part I use a SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB. I just tested a SanDisk Ultra 32GB and it works perfectly. Try formatting your card with the camera. If it still doesn't work then you have a problem with your SD card.

No, it is only possible to connect the camera with the intended app. The camera is not ONVIF capable and does not have an RSTP protocol. Only an AP connection via the UID is possible.

First, it's an outdated camera. I don't even know if it's still possible to acquire it. It only records in 720p whereas today many dashcams record in 4K. I suggest getting a recent model. Regarding your question, yes you can start the camera without needing to access your smartphone. But in general it doesn't bother you to run the app at the same time as a GPS navigator. All smartphones today are capable of running several applications at the same time.

Hello, I formated my SD card to fat32 16GB. files and folders are correctly written, but the avi video size is always 0k. Is there something wrong ?

So, if you have an SD card with a capacity of 16GB and have formatted it to FAT32, everything should work. Did the camera create the directories? If not, try writing something to the card from another medium, e.g. a computer. If necessary, try a different card. If still no video file is written to the card, then the camera has a technical problem.

What am i doing wrong with mine. I put it in my living to test the motion setting. When i hold motion button and press it, it only records for 2 minutes. In te first 10 sec i left the room and saw that on tape. When i re-entered my living after 5 mins the camera didnt get me walking by (got as close as 50cm walking by) yet it didnt re-enter recording for another 2 minutes. I tried several rooms and spots. It just does not pick up motion and goes into standby mode after 2 mins and just turns off after. I could record another 2 mins when i re-do these steps. So it couldnt be my battery. However the SD card gets quite warm after these few mins. And at my final few tries instead of having to press the motion button only ones i have to press it twice to blink red and start its one time recording again.

@@molliggemandarijn I did some tests with my camera and everything seems to work correctly. When movement is detected, the camera records a 2-minute sequence each time. If new movement is detected during these 2 minutes of recording, it will continue recording. The change in light can be a trigger for recording. The position of the camera must be well chosen with respect to the ambient light so that the camera can detect movement. And finally yes, the camera heats up a little, but this is not really a problem. Regarding the LED: a blue LED lights up when you put the camera on charge. After a few seconds, in addition to the blue LED, a red LED flashes indicating charging.

@@Meisech Thanks for your response. It seems i might be the unlucky one. Cant really explain it myself but since there is no led when charging i guess its just broken. Im considering to re-order one now but i also disliked the NV on it switching mid film. Im not that smart when it comes to the inside but i wondered: Could i possibly disable the night vision by for example carefully removing the 2 front bulbs that the camera is in between? Or would this create defect in total. Im sorry for asking alot, i understand you are not the product owner. But i dont speak chinese and theres not much out there about the XD with battery.

@@molliggemandarijn The LEDs are an integral part of the camera and match the electronics. In fact, they are on all the time and as soon as the camera detects a major decline in ambient light it switches to black and white IR mode.

Après mon dernier vol j'ai démonté les hélices. Malheureusement je ne me rappelle plus ou les avoir mis. Toutefois dans le manuel l'hélice M1 se trouve à l'avant droit. To turn on the camera you must push the 'Motion detection' button and not 'Camera'. When the blue LED is lit, briefly press the same button again. The LED turns off and the camera records. You must edit the parameters and enter the correct time and date.

If you use a card up to 32GB, it should be formatted with FAT32 beforehand, otherwise the card will not be recognized. If there is no card or the SD card does not meet the criteria, the LED will flash a few times and then the camera will turn off.

It is entirely possible to connect the camera to a smartphone using an OTG adapter. The 'USB debugging' option must also be activated in the 'Developer' settings. The camera will then be known as 'GENPLUS USB drive'. It is then possible to view the files located on the camera's SD card. However, I was unable to display the live image from the camera on my smartphone, even using the 'USB Camera Pro' app. This app detects the camera, but cannot initialize it.

I bought one of these and trying to set up as a wildlife cam for my garbage cans. Problem is when I set on motion detection, it flashes the red and then will record a 2 min video if I wave my hand in front. If I wait 2-4 min after that and wave my hand again no recording happens. Seems like the camera is turning itself off after recording the first clip. Do I have to turn loop recording on for it to stay in standby and keep recording clips from motion? Needs to say in standby and record from motion for hours on end to catch the animals. Suggestions?

It will last you about 20 minutes outside without a power source. Nice size to hide but the power cord or power bank has to be hidden too. Defeats the purpose of the mini size.

I had the same problem with my first micro XD camera. After several inserts the card retension mechanism was broken. Unfortunately there is nothing to do, it is impossible to repair. The only thing you can try is to insert the card as far as it will go and secure it with tape.

Be careful, there is only one model that supports WiFi. The other two models are the one without battery and without WiFi and the one with battery but without WiFi. When you turn on the camera, a new hotspot should appear in your WiFi settings on your smartphone. If this is not the case then you do not have the model with WiFi.

The camera will start charging as soon as it is connected to an external power source, regardless of whether a card is present or not. As soon as the camera is connected to an external power source, the blue LED lights up, which means that it is in standby mode. By long pressing the power button, the camera can be turned off, which results in faster charging.

I keep mine on motion detect mode in my car. It's lasted for days, even in the hot sun. A good tip for these is to follow the manual and charge them only with a .5A phone charger block. Anything bigger gets the battery too hot, too fast and it stops charging. I put mine in the fridge before I charge them. Sounds kooky, but it helps! Heat IS the enemy of these lil' things, and they don't vent very well at all. Chill 'em or you'll kill 'em. And use the small chargers! When I don't have a fridge around, or using a power-pack I'll let them cool off...then charge them AGAIN. And sure enough, they take more of a charge once they've cooled off. Try it. You'll see what I mean. Peace!

@@Tom-ld9hp You may have a problem with your camera. Once connected to an external power source, the blue standby LED should light up. The camera can be turned off while charging by pressing the power button for 2-3 seconds. The blue LED will then go out but charging will continue. When a formatted card is inserted for the first time and the camera is turned on, a file called 'time.txt' is created which can be edited using a text editor. To do this, change the current date, time and recording parameters, save these parameters and then immediately put the card back in the camera. Turn the camera on. The data will now be transferred to the camera's internal memory.

Everything is explained in the video. There are 2 modes: continuous recording and recording upon detection. In best conditions, the camera records 1 hour. I still suggest connecting it to a power bank.

Unfortunately this happens if the camera is stored for too long at the retailer. The battery then drains so that it is no longer possible to recharge it. I have had several cameras that had this problem. Maybe try charging it for a whole day. With a little luck you can recover the camera.

If the producer marks 128 GB, everyone else follows and also marks 128 GB without even checking if the camera really supports this size. Besides, I have never seen such a camera with 128 GB memory card. Other dealers lie about camera specs. Do a search for example on Aliexpress, XD camera battery. You will see that the maximum capacity of the card is 64 GB. Try to format the 64 GB card to Fat32 and not exFAT. If that still doesn't work, then your camera is only 32 GB or there really is an electronic problem.

No, none of these cameras come with an SD card. The metal plate on the bottom of the camera is used to attach it to a magnetic base.

You can use any external 5V source to charge the battery. You can also plug the camera into a USB port. When plugging the camera into an external power source, the blue LED will first light up and stay on, then a red LED will flash until the battery is fully charged. When the camera is fully charged, the blue LED and the red LED are constantly lit.

Be careful, there is a slight space between the slot and the camera. Be careful not to insert the card next to it. It is also possible that the spring system of the slot is defective. At this point you can insert the card but it does not lock. This problem is impossible to repair.

Has anyone tried using Sandisk Ultra cards and if it works?
For my part I use a SanDisk Extreme PRO 64GB. I just tested a SanDisk Ultra 32GB and it works perfectly. Try formatting your card with the camera. If it still doesn't work then you have a problem with your SD card.

No, it is only possible to connect the camera with the intended app. The camera is not ONVIF capable and does not have an RSTP protocol. Only an AP connection via the UID is possible.

First, it's an outdated camera. I don't even know if it's still possible to acquire it. It only records in 720p whereas today many dashcams record in 4K. I suggest getting a recent model. Regarding your question, yes you can start the camera without needing to access your smartphone. But in general it doesn't bother you to run the app at the same time as a GPS navigator. All smartphones today are capable of running several applications at the same time.

Hello, I formated my SD card to fat32 16GB. files and folders are correctly written, but the avi video size is always 0k. Is there something wrong ?
So, if you have an SD card with a capacity of 16GB and have formatted it to FAT32, everything should work. Did the camera create the directories? If not, try writing something to the card from another medium, e.g. a computer. If necessary, try a different card. If still no video file is written to the card, then the camera has a technical problem.

What am i doing wrong with mine. I put it in my living to test the motion setting. When i hold motion button and press it, it only records for 2 minutes. In te first 10 sec i left the room and saw that on tape. When i re-entered my living after 5 mins the camera didnt get me walking by (got as close as 50cm walking by) yet it didnt re-enter recording for another 2 minutes. I tried several rooms and spots. It just does not pick up motion and goes into standby mode after 2 mins and just turns off after. I could record another 2 mins when i re-do these steps. So it couldnt be my battery. However the SD card gets quite warm after these few mins. And at my final few tries instead of having to press the motion button only ones i have to press it twice to blink red and start its one time recording again.
oh and btw i never have a LED popup blue when i recharge it. No lights go on, would it be broken or do you spot my mistake maybe.
@@molliggemandarijn I did some tests with my camera and everything seems to work correctly. When movement is detected, the camera records a 2-minute sequence each time. If new movement is detected during these 2 minutes of recording, it will continue recording. The change in light can be a trigger for recording. The position of the camera must be well chosen with respect to the ambient light so that the camera can detect movement. And finally yes, the camera heats up a little, but this is not really a problem. Regarding the LED: a blue LED lights up when you put the camera on charge. After a few seconds, in addition to the blue LED, a red LED flashes indicating charging.
@@Meisech Thanks for your response. It seems i might be the unlucky one. Cant really explain it myself but since there is no led when charging i guess its just broken. Im considering to re-order one now but i also disliked the NV on it switching mid film. Im not that smart when it comes to the inside but i wondered: Could i possibly disable the night vision by for example carefully removing the 2 front bulbs that the camera is in between? Or would this create defect in total. Im sorry for asking alot, i understand you are not the product owner. But i dont speak chinese and theres not much out there about the XD with battery.
@@molliggemandarijn The LEDs are an integral part of the camera and match the electronics. In fact, they are on all the time and as soon as the camera detects a major decline in ambient light it switches to black and white IR mode.

Well, there's not much difference between the EP7 and the EP8 apart from the viewing angle and the price. At Banggood the EP7 is 179€, which is almost equivalent to what I paid.

@@mybucketlisting Sorry, but I can't tell you if these generic head cameras are better than the ORDRO, but honestly I think it's better to buy an ORDRO. I bought a similar one but it doesn't really convince me. Perhaps search the internet for videos testing these cameras to be sure.

Après mon dernier vol j'ai démonté les hélices. Malheureusement je ne me rappelle plus ou les avoir mis. Toutefois dans le manuel l'hélice M1 se trouve à l'avant droit. HELP ! I got one. But cant turn it on. After pressing button with camera, blue light doesnt flashes 3 times. (according with manual it have to flashes 3 times). So it doesnt recording. My parameter setings in SETTINGTIME file is : 2023-01-01,00:00:00 YY. I tried to change it but it doesnt work.
To turn on the camera you must push the 'Motion detection' button and not 'Camera'. When the blue LED is lit, briefly press the same button again. The LED turns off and the camera records. You must edit the parameters and enter the correct time and date.
I have the same problem tried a ton of times.
@@Meisech After putting in the date I hit one of the many tabs that say settings and asks you if you want to change and it doesnt change on my video. Tried many times.
@@Tom-ld9hp It is important that you use an SD card that does not exceed the allowed capacity. If you use a card up to 32GB, it should be formatted with FAT32 beforehand, otherwise the card will not be recognized. If there is no card or the SD card does not meet the criteria, the LED will flash a few times and then the camera will turn off.
@@Tom-ld9hp Either it is a replica of the original camera that uses inferior electronic components or there really is an electronic problem with the camera. Also, the edited parameters must correspond exactly to the criteria I showed in my video, otherwise the camera cannot interpret the data.

It is entirely possible to connect the camera to a smartphone using an OTG adapter. The 'USB debugging' option must also be activated in the 'Developer' settings. The camera will then be known as 'GENPLUS USB drive'. It is then possible to view the files located on the camera's SD card. However, I was unable to display the live image from the camera on my smartphone, even using the 'USB Camera Pro' app. This app detects the camera, but cannot initialize it.
Update. I managed to display a live image from the camera on my smartphone with the 'USB CAMERA PRO' app. For this I had to remove the SD card. You must also take into account having a USB cable as well as a good quality OTG adapter and that there is no interruption of contact of the different elements between the camera and the smartphone.

I bought one of these and trying to set up as a wildlife cam for my garbage cans. Problem is when I set on motion detection, it flashes the red and then will record a 2 min video if I wave my hand in front. If I wait 2-4 min after that and wave my hand again no recording happens. Seems like the camera is turning itself off after recording the first clip. Do I have to turn loop recording on for it to stay in standby and keep recording clips from motion? Needs to say in standby and record from motion for hours on end to catch the animals. Suggestions?
It will last you about 20 minutes outside without a power source. Nice size to hide but the power cord or power bank has to be hidden too. Defeats the purpose of the mini size.
@@Tom-ld9hp I'm using it for wildlife, I don't think they'll care about a power bank and cord haha. Just need to figure out why it's shutting off in standby mode while in motion detection.

@@Tom-ld9hpnot just this I have Wyze and people have come in to my house took my passport and the pictures. A top and during Christmas they took Christmas bulbs. They cut the fuse box and restarted or reset the camera.

Just received another one of these today now I got an issue The microSD card will not snap in there I don't know how many times I've tried it anybody else have that problem it's not the micro SD card cuz I tried another
I had the same problem with my first micro XD camera. After several inserts the card retension mechanism was broken. Unfortunately there is nothing to do, it is impossible to repair. The only thing you can try is to insert the card as far as it will go and secure it with tape.

Be careful, there is only one model that supports WiFi. The other two models are the one without battery and without WiFi and the one with battery but without WiFi. When you turn on the camera, a new hotspot should appear in your WiFi settings on your smartphone. If this is not the case then you do not have the model with WiFi.
I think you said it one time you drained the battery all the way down and charged it wondering how long did it take for it to charge how many hours do you think do you remember

Definitely must have something wrong with my battery issue when I plug it in like I said nothing lights up so I decided to hit the motion detection while it was plugged in and I'm getting a red and blue flashing both ways while plugged in. 12 hours later they're still flashing?@@Meisech
@@Tom-ld9hp I think your camera really has a problem. Request a replacement from your supplier as soon as possible. Try to document your problem with photos or better yet with a video and explain your problem in detail. With a little luck they will replace it.
Would be helpful when it is recording that the light would be on like a green light no light comes on you kind of wonder what's going on is it recording or not?
Once the recording process has started, no LED lights up anymore. This is the case with most of these cameras. This is unfortunately a regrettable situation.
This is a really great review. I bought 2 of these about 3 months back and forgot about them. I notice the motion detection button seems to need pressing before they start charging.
The camera will start charging as soon as it is connected to an external power source, regardless of whether a card is present or not. As soon as the camera is connected to an external power source, the blue LED lights up, which means that it is in standby mode. By long pressing the power button, the camera can be turned off, which results in faster charging.
Downside doesn't last long enough without power source. You don't want to try and hide a cord or power bank. Waste of the small camera size.
Yes, that's what I regret too. The battery capacity is way too low.
I keep mine on motion detect mode in my car. It's lasted for days, even in the hot sun. A good tip for these is to follow the manual and charge them only with a .5A phone charger block. Anything bigger gets the battery too hot, too fast and it stops charging. I put mine in the fridge before I charge them. Sounds kooky, but it helps! Heat IS the enemy of these lil' things, and they don't vent very well at all. Chill 'em or you'll kill 'em. And use the small chargers! When I don't have a fridge around, or using a power-pack I'll let them cool off...then charge them AGAIN. And sure enough, they take more of a charge once they've cooled off. Try it. You'll see what I mean. Peace!

Couple questions for you when I plug mine in and I have the card in there nothing lights up for charging. Also I went on where you said for the time and date once I put that in how do I set it so it stays there I don't see a setting for that
@@Tom-ld9hp You may have a problem with your camera. Once connected to an external power source, the blue standby LED should light up. The camera can be turned off while charging by pressing the power button for 2-3 seconds. The blue LED will then go out but charging will continue. When a formatted card is inserted for the first time and the camera is turned on, a file called 'time.txt' is created which can be edited using a text editor. To do this, change the current date, time and recording parameters, save these parameters and then immediately put the card back in the camera. Turn the camera on. The data will now be transferred to the camera's internal memory.

Another possible cause: your camera is programmed in 'Fast Record' mode and as soon as you turn it on, it starts recording. Everything is explained in the video. There are 2 modes: continuous recording and recording upon detection. In best conditions, the camera records 1 hour. I still suggest connecting it to a power bank.

Unfortunately this happens if the camera is stored for too long at the retailer. The battery then drains so that it is no longer possible to recharge it. I have had several cameras that had this problem. Maybe try charging it for a whole day. With a little luck you can recover the camera.

Garbage. Bought a brand new SanDisk 128 GB SD Card and it couldn't recognize it nor format it.

@@Meisech On the manufacturer's website, it lists 128 GB, and virtually every seller on eBay lists it at 128 GB. I just got back from town where I even bought a 64 GB class 10 version from Samsung. Didn't work.

If the producer marks 128 GB, everyone else follows and also marks 128 GB without even checking if the camera really supports this size. Besides, I have never seen such a camera with 128 GB memory card. Other dealers lie about camera specs. Do a search for example on Aliexpress, XD camera battery. You will see that the maximum capacity of the card is 64 GB. Try to format the 64 GB card to Fat32 and not exFAT. If that still doesn't work, then your camera is only 32 GB or there really is an electronic problem.

No, none of these cameras come with an SD card. The metal plate on the bottom of the camera is used to attach it to a magnetic base.

You can use any external 5V source to charge the battery. You can also plug the camera into a USB port. When plugging the camera into an external power source, the blue LED will first light up and stay on, then a red LED will flash until the battery is fully charged. When the camera is fully charged, the blue LED and the red LED are constantly lit.
I got a problem with that too I plug it in and it doesn't show any lights does it need a charge is it charging That's confusing

Be careful, there is a slight space between the slot and the camera. Be careful not to insert the card next to it. It is also possible that the spring system of the slot is defective. At this point you can insert the card but it does not lock. This problem is impossible to repair.

@@Tom-ld9hp I tried to reintegrate the spring into the mechanism. That worked, but the slot still didn't work. It's also pointless to replace the entire slot, as the solder joints are so tiny and so close together that it's impossible to replace.
