Such incredible talent and work rate and largely been forgotten by football it would seem. I’ve watched every major tournament since Italia 90 and haven’t heard him mentioned once. A crying shame, was pure football poetry.

Glenn Hoddle is the greatest of all time. Can anyone name an English footballer with equally the same skill as him?. The only two other naturally gifted greats are Bobby Charlton and Gazza.

70m out from the Kiwis' line from a standing start and Okul just smoked them. He was something special. He played fullback for the Lae Bombers in the SP Intercity Cup (1990-94) but was in the centres for this game at the Lloyd Robson Oval in Port Moresby. The only reason Okul wasn't in the No.1 jersey was a fellow by the name of David Buko.

Very interesting. On his very first home game for his English club, Hull Kingston Rovers, John Okul was in the process of scoring an even more spectacular try from further out...only he severely ruptured a groin muscle and collapsed in agony 5 yards from the line! Sadly, it was a serious injury which kept him on the sidelines for a long period, and was one he never truly recovered from. Nevertheless, all Hull KR fans who saw him ‘almost’ score that try recognised him as ‘something special’. 👍

He does not like to stand in the spotlight and take the credit. He is more shy and a little withdrawn. He is called the Serbian Maradona and has had an incredible career especially in Japan. There he is synonymous with god. He is currently Serbia's national team coach and thanks to him, Serbia has qualified directly for Qatar 2022. His leadership ability and determination is his strong point. When they won against Portugal in Lisbon, he did not want to take the credit and he is not much for partying. He is very serious and goal-oriented.
