I'm going :) flying over from the UK.
👏 👏 👏
Cool, but it should say just "Hath my lute..." or "Doth my lute have..."
Brandon, I would like to try out gut strings. Is there any brand that you recommend?
Yes, try Kurschner or Aquila. Contact Bostoncatlines.com
@@brandonacker Thank you!
I found myself having a preference for the replicas
Hey! That was fantastic! Play some Sor next.
Sehr schön zusammen!!😊
Just for western music, more notes more difficult to understand. Now I understand many Asian countries...
Beautiful!
Good morning dear Brandon....Do you have any advice about how to cure focal distonia?I have been playing classical guitar making al king of mistakes, and now my right hand became a disaster, and I try to play slowly. Could you give an advice about it? Tks for your videos. They are so useful...
Contact David Leisner . He wrote a book you need called playing guitar with ease. He cured his own focal distonia.
@@brandonacker Thanks a lot. I Will...And i love yourvideos...I am a brasilian songwriter living in Italy, and I have a youtube chanel. If you want, you could go there and hear my songs and voice. Tks again and again...
Is there one next year to? I would love to go but i don't have time this year and i live far away. Would probably be a real difficulty to bring my lute too 😔 but sounds like a amazing experience!
very poignant and connective interpretation bravo!
He made both instruments sound very good. I prefer the lute because the piece was just MADE for it. It's unsettling to me to hear early music on modern instruments because it takes away the sound and feeling from the time period. Plus, the lute is just more special because it's more rare than a guitar.
What fun! So much talent. I’m glad this wasn’t a fake twin photoshop prank. Brandon looks more like that adorable British actor Jack Farthing, while Brian is somewhere between Bradley Cooper/Brandon Frasier. Last year or so, I heard your lute tuning for guitar. I hope it’s still posted
This cannot compare to classical. I don’t know why people like electric guitars. They are so limiting.
I hope that they don't serve lutefisk for dinner at lutefest😮. Sounds like fun! (Pronounced lut*a*fisk)
So cool
Looking forward to see you there. Don't forget, also flute players this year thanks to the amazing Mara Winter.
Oh great!! I'm so glad you're coming. We'll have to find some time to enjoy some Whiskey together
I hope you've talked to Bruce Kammen (Chicago Chorale) about eating lutefisk while at LuteFest...
I mean, its like an alphabet right? 26 letters in the english alphabet (even less in other languages, or more) can be arranged to tell a near infinite amount of stories.
The lute you have in this video is the single best lute I have ever heard.
Nice!!! I would love, but I live far from the US, I wish you luck and fun!!!
I would love to hear a pairing of Brandon Acker on theorbo with Anoushka Shankar on sitar.
To hit clean artificial harmonics is crazy, to hit clean, fast one hand tapping is crazy, to do them both in time and the same time is freaking wild
They is freaking unbelievable
If you would’ve told me I’d be trying to clear out my schedule to go to a “lute-fest” a few years ago I wouldn’t have believed you. But here I am.
😁👍Music is like a tree with branches, you keep climbing and you end up deep in some branches. 👍😁Youre Learning so much about music Congratulations!
I used to operate up to 4 of the same model engine to pump water. I noticed once you get the engines running at similar RPMs you could hear the "Beat" . Its the same wave sensation as when i tune my guitar. You have to listen past the drone of the engine, but by making fine adjustments of the throttles on each engine you could match up the beats. Maybe that helps someone make a mental connection, it helped me.
You heard the man, folks--this is simply not to be missed!
When Brandon meets Van Halen❤❤❤
I bet it will be a festivity worth watching
It'd be nice to go. Hotel, meals and everything, make a time out of it.
Dang, it clashes with Theorbestival 🫤
Not that I ever needed an excuse to go to Cleveland, but now I finally have one.
omg this sounds like so much fun!!! I wish I had the free time and money to go; I’m super super interested in historical music and instruments, especially stringed ones, and while I only play one, technically two, neither of them are in the focus for a lutefest, I’ve been wanting to get into playing something in the lute family for a long time. Hopefully I can go some year in the future! And hopefully one day I can meet my heroes too, including Brandon!
There’s a lutefest?!? Neat!

Learn to play classical guitar without fingernails in just 10 days with Brandon Acker 🎸 classicalguitar-pro.com/
I started with footstool, but the twisting motion of the body causes back pain after a while. Then moved to suction-like support. Tried those that has suctions attached to the sides of the guitar, near the thigh, e.g. Gitano, Tenuto, Ergo play etc. realised all these tend to come off while playing. Very risky and not reliable at all. Finally gave up suction-type support, and used cushion / pillow for years. But still not perfect. The cushion tends to move or slide or the thigh gets hot and sweaty after playing for too long. Eventually came a full circle to using support with suction, but the Guitar Lift and Kuyonbaba. The ones that attached to the back of the guitar instead of the sides. The suctions never came off. The problem with Ergo Play and those suctions that are attached to the sides, is because the area at the side of the guitar is limited. Hence the suction cups used are relatively small. For Guitar Lift, the suction cups used are much bigger in surface area as the contact area is at the back of the guitar. The larger suction cups form a tighter and stronger suction pressure. Furthermore, the Guitar Lift has many extra holes for the suction cups. I bought additional suction cups online and added 2 more to the original 4 on Guitar LIft. For added precaution. The suction pressure of 6 larger cups, is many time stronger than the Ergo Play ones. Never came off since. That's my final choice for now.

Would you make a video about right hand position? Like a comparison between segovia’s and modern technique
Thanks for the idea. I speak a lot about the different right hand positions in my course at Classicalguitar-pro.com. Essentially, there are many different hand positions and the goal is to find one that suits your anatomy, musical goals and is ergonomic and relaxed. I've seen a spectrum of very different hand positions that can be effective.
For my untrained ear, everything sounds fantastic!! I think this kind of proves that you don't need an expensive guitar to start; just a lot of heart and patience.
Years ago, Carlos Barbosa-Lima came to my house for coffee after giving a masterclass. He played my $250 Yairi , and it sounded like concert guitar.....it ain't the guitar!
So cool man. love your content.
Haha I put in my other airpod just before you said I should. I need to hear this
So, I just watched....a commercial?
I have over 260 free videos (most educational) for you to watch here. Many people are subscribed to learn (for free!) what took me two decades, two college degrees, and years of professional playing to understand. You're welcome ;) So it's more than appropriate for me to use my own platform to advertise my full online classical guitar course for those who watch my videos and want more content that will directly improve their playing.
