Hi, I'm Bridgid Akrofi from Ghana
amo esta interpretación.
Had never heard of Howard Hanson until part of this composition was used as the credits rolled in the 1979 sci-fi classic, 'Alien'. It was such a beautiful ending theme to one of the most frightening films of the late 1970s.
The whole shift in tone from 6:44-7:52 is so beautiful. My favorite section from the 1st movement.
Wow! Heard a snippet of the symphony on XM radio as I was driving around this afternoon, and looked for a performance on YT tonight. What a reward!! Just a lush, grand performance by this wonderful orchestra! Bravo Maestro Young!

Absolute genius. Smashing music, one of the deepest american music ever❤
I discovered this amazing symphony because of Alien (1979, Ridley Scott) a long time ago, and is one of my favorites orchestral works.
Gorgeous. An old favorite. Retired ‘cellist here. Love this stuff.
Nice capabl conductor.👍
Great tempi in this performance, not too fast and rushed, lets the music "sing".
Immediately fell in love with it when it was used in the final scene of "Alien". Unfortunately for the title at the credits portion in the end. Lucky me.😊
Prof Adams told a story - some thirty years ago - that included his pet python: Tired of the regular knocking on his door by Jehovah's Witnesses he decided next time they did he would open the door with his beloved python wrapped around him. He did so, and the unwitting lady shreaked "He be the devil!" 🤣 Hi Clint, hope you're doing well. M
He is funny
nice! I want to go to Peabody
you get an AI bot to write this talk?

Grande interpretazione del Maestro Marin Alsop!
Dave Hurwitz's show led me here.

Congratulations!
Awesome
Hardest working conductor I’ve known….. do your thing 🎶
Wow' outstanding performance. Enjoyed it so. Thanks so much & continued success in the future.
We performed the 3rd movement in my high school orchestra around 1978, when we were working hard to become the Texas MEA Honor Orchestra. I became so enamored of it that I got a recording of the entire symphony & wore it out! What fantastic music - a true American masterpiece!!
Bravo!!!!!!! An exquisite symphony I first heard on the radio as a boy growing up in Philadelphia in the 1950's. Performed to perfection here by the brilliant students of the Peabody Institute Music School of Johns-Hookins University in Baltimore MD, just up the street from my apartment building on North Charles Street...
I remember playing 2nd violin on this with the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra more than 20 years when looking back. If you listen hard enough, you hear so many movies in just this movement alone. Great composer, great piece to play on that journey of artistic expression. Awesome performance here!
Norman Bates favorite music, 🤗
AMAZING ✌🏾❤️
It was Alien that put this beautiful music on my radar… just a kid growing up in Kansas… the final credits and this beautiful music
Hanson is so unfairly neglected. His symphonies stand with the best that the 20th Century has to offer.
Wow.....
Que extraordinaria Sinfónica conformada por gente JOVEN !!!!... ojala mejoren los camarógrafos para poder apreciar a la orquesta mucho MEJOR. Saludos ...
I hope she does the first five too. They may not be excellent compared to Rowicki but her 6, 7, 8 and 9 are very beautiful and heavenly!

I know it annoyed Jerry goldsmith that his score was fiddled around with on Alien but this piece really does fit with the ending and titles.
Common shawm W
Just outstanding!
God god there’s a outrageous problem you should check to make sure they haven’t moved back to there own country
Großartig!!! Marin ohne Partitur! Sie ist einfach die Beste!!!
Very well done
