  Sure as heck didn't cost as much as Barkley is going to... Just want to point out that in my lifetime, NO running back drafted by the Giants in the first round has ever played in a Super Bowl win. Rodney Hampton got a ring his rookie year, but was hurt in the playoffs and inactive for the Super Bowl, and Ron Dayne played in their loss to Baltimore. Tyrone Wheatley, Jarrod Bunch, David Wilson, Butch Woolfolk, George Adams, and so far Barkley ... nothing. And with his rookie contract over, the kind of money Barkley is going to command is going to seriously impact their ability to build a strong supporting cast. If they go on to have a great offense in the years to come, it is going to have a lot more to do with the decisions to draft Andrew Thomas and Evan Neal than Barkley or Jones, just like the Super Bowl win in '90 owed a lot more to picking linemen at the top of their draft classes in 88 & 89, than taking Hampton in 90. The Giants always got more in terms of wins from RBs in the later rounds, like Joe Morris (2nd rd, 2nd RB taken by NY that year, won SB XXI), Dave Meggett (4th rd, won SB XXV), Jacobs (4th rnd won SB XLII & XLVI) and Bradshaw (7th rnd, won SB XLII & XLVI)
