    That is awesome! I never thought the Kepler would drop to 1499 and came super close to buying a few others I was looking at, but so glad it did cause I really wanted to power and top speed. She is definitely a beast! Got sick of putting it into bed of pickup with the weight so I grabbed a cheapo rack which works well for short distance i take it. Also check it for scratches, mine had a good chunk out which I covered with vinyl when i changed up the color, but after complaining they gave me a small credit back at least. Cheers!

    @@CryYerLIBTeaRSKONG17 Awesome Motorcycle! I also have a "need for speed" and always have since I was a kid. If you scroll way way down you will find my Vrod videos which was a very cool bike!!! Bigtime into sledding all winter for sure and turbo power. Recently getting into the EVs and i highly recommend going down to the new Tesla dealer in South Buffalo and demo drive their Model S. I have a video on this and its a blast to hit the accelerator on that car(0-60=3.1seconds). As for the top speed of the Kepler, I got real close to 40MPH so far but have only rode it a handful of times since I got it all done. I wanted the step over as well but saw a guy on youtube showing the height of the bar and this is a tall bike! Im near 6ft tall but still tricky to stand over. So Im glad I went with the step through. Only thing that is a bummer is the only place for a bottle is on bottom cause there is not enough room where you stand over to use the top bolts. Cheers!

    Great review Dan. The acceleration on EV's is awesome. And so smooth. Really unexpected when you first drive them. We have a Chevy Volt and works great for us as it's a plug in hybrid. We charge it overnight when rates are lowest. The guy that sold his Ford Lightning and has a Tesla, also has solar on his house so he never worried about charging rates. If I went all EV, that's something I might look into. Cheers..

  • @rockerdan
    @rockerdan3 ай бұрын

    Hey Jim! Thanks so much for the message. I really love the VOLT! Back in 2012 i was checking out smaller cars for running around, cause driving my full size pickup around the city and for errands the truck is such a gas guzzler! I typically always had a small vehicle for errands, and had many small toyotas over the years. I was looking at the Prius in 2012 and at that time they had a great lease special going on their Plug-In Prius, and the lease price was only 20 bucks per month higher than a standard Prius. So I did some research and was reading a lot of cool info on how much fuel was being saved with the plug-in Prius. That was when i started learning a ton about the Volt too, and would have tried the Volt but at that time this lease deal toyota had going was too good to pass up. At the end of the 3 year lease, i had averaged 250MPG!!! The amount of gas I put into that vehicle was so little, it really got me into these types of cars. So I was watching closely Tesla, and waiting like many were for their first affordable vehicle to come to market. At that time I thought all EVs would drive the same as my Plug-in Hybrid did, which meant underpowered and basically very boring...LOL. Great for efficiency but all other driving dynamics really sucked. What i didn't realize is a pure EV would have a TON of torque right off the bottom and be faster than any previous vehicle I had ever owned, sorta reminding me of my sports cars from my younger years....no waiting to spool RPMs like an ICE vehicle and no transmission so no shifting ect. Yet the EVs still save a ton of cost when compared to gas in an ICE vehicle. Once I got my first ride in a Tesla, it was like a lightbulb went on in my head, and driving any ICE vehice after an EV was like going back in time. Having Solar on your house roof is by far the slickest setup for any EV owner! Being able to power your daily driving is a huge bonus for sure. I have been looking at that often but the costs are still abit high for me at this time, I would love to add panels sometime in future though! Cheers!

    Hey Jay! Thanks for the comment. Your comment is the exact same thing I always read or hear from Lightning owners. I find the NON truck guys love them most, while typical truck guys who have owned trucks their entire life also still call them the best truck they have ever owned, but the range thing is often brought up especially when towing. So anyone considering one needs to really understand their use case. As you said, if you are daily driving within the range of the model vehicle they work awesome. And now that we can use the Tesla network, that is why i have come back to highly considering one of these. I have also been hearing more and more that the Gen2 Ford EV truck will be much much more advanced. And likely have a full size and also a smaller EV truck to come, possibly in the 2025 model year. @rockerdan3 ай бұрын

    Hey brother! Ahh, that is a great question! I do love to be on the bleeding edge of technology and would certainly love to test ride the new Taiga Sleds, along with their Watercraft. I think for sleds, they are a real tough vehicle to go electric. Mostly cause sleds live in such a harsh environment with temps, and then the weight would come into play. I have no idea what the weight is on the EV sleds, but would be interested in how they ride with the battery weight. I know distance riding would be off the table pretty much, and unlike an EV(car) its not like there are charging stations along the trails in small towns. Maybe that will be in the future but not now. I do think the reliability factor would be a bonus due to such little mechanical parts compared to normal sleds. Like no belt to blow, no clutches as I assume they drive the track right off the electric motor. So you have the Electric motor and battery under the seat in place of fuel tank, and then track ect is same. I have heard the Taiga works really good. Just likely will never replace combustion sleds for saddlebag trips ect. I have seen a few reviews on the Taiga watercraft, now that use case might be better since you tend to rip around the lakes and never stray too far from dock, where you can plug in. Im always interested in new tech be it good or maybe not so good. Cheers!

    @@Dooguy Any EV vehicle for some reason has become ultra controversial. For me I have always loved to demo drive and open to all new tech, it's never been an issue for me to try other brands or modes. I figure you only live once, and I certainly am not getting any younger! Certain types of vehicles do really well with a battery, while some wont. Sleds are a tough one for sure, I mean lets face it I can feel the huge difference between the 850 2s and the 900r 4s, just that difference in weight and snappiness makes those two sleds entirely different to ride. So an EV sled, im guessing could be good at some things but not others. But Im always open to trying anything and deciding for myself. The light bulb went on for me when I first took a ride in a Tesla model 3 Performance last June. Tesla had setup an exhibit out in front of the big SOM(Sound of Music) Festival in Burlington. I had been reading a lot about EVs for several years but really had never experienced one first hand. They were showing people the cars and taking people for demo rides. So we went, and that was it for me. The guy punched it from a dead stop on a sideroad and it took me back to my younger days when we hung out at the dragstrip and I had been able to ride in some super quick cars back as a kid. That feeling of being pressed back into the seat, pure hard pull! Reminded me of my Vrod Harley or my Winder, but even faster! For me that was the start of it all....I'd been driving trucks for most of my life since I was mid 20s, and miss those younger years when i had many sports cars and i was always abit crazy behind the wheel. And now to be able to own a very very fast car for very little money, something we could never do before as super cars that were this quick were 200k or more. I just really enjoy the power is all. Sure there are a ton of benefits other then pure power, but the power for me is the thing that sucked me in. Cheers!

  • @rockerdan
    @rockerdan4 ай бұрын

    Hey Brother! I apologize, I didn't realize the title may be a bit misleading. I did demo drive the Lightning that day for several hours. I had not planned to do any video for this channel but i ended up doing this one and probably should have titled it more of a walk-around video. I do have a good handle on these Lightnings though now, so ask me anything you like. I did try to mention, for towing any sorta of decent size trailer any distance, any EV truck is really not a good solution. With the exception being the new Silverado EV with the huge 214 kWh battery as that truck just got 70mph tested to do a true 435 miles. Check out Out Of Spec reviews channel, Kyle Conner is the guru of EVs and I have been following him for many years since he was a sledhead back in the day when he was just a kid. LOL. Otherwise i would wait for the new RAMCHARGER which should come out for 2026 model year, it will likely be very expensive but should cure the EV towing needs and be the best replacement for Diesel trucks, as it will have a large battery alongside a V6 Pentastar engine. The key to the RamCharger design is it will be a serial type plug-in hybrid, much like the VOLT was, with NO physical connection from the Gas engine to the wheels, so this means it will drive like a true EV giving you all the massive torque and HP EVs give, and then when battery runs low the gas v6 kicks on to run a generator which puts energy back into the battery. Battery will be big enough to do approx 150-160 pure EV miles before V6 kicks on, so as a daily in city you may never run the v6 ever, and will only be ran on longer roadtrips if you dont want to stop and charge. As for the Lightning along with other EV trucks, typical contractors like myself who do mostly city driving daily can benefit in a big way with these EV trucks, huge fuel savings along with maintenance savings(Brakes and oil) can really ad to a small business bottom line savings. For these reasons i really want to go this route, but in the end im just a speed freak and fell in love with the EV power i get in the Tesla, and when i get back into my RAM Combustion, i just feel like I went back to stone age. LOL. Cheers!

    Dan not sure if you have read GM & FORD scaling back their EV manufacturing, The resale of these are dropping like stones. All the Japanese manufacturers are investing heavily in Hydrogen systems saying EV will be dead in the future???

  • @rockerdan
    @rockerdan4 ай бұрын

    Hey Rich! Yes i have been following this truck and other EVs very closely for about 4 yrs now. IMO Ford and GM scaling back will be a mistep in the long term. They say the reason is sales, while the reality is sales are still going up among EVs, just a slower pace now. But still at a growing pace much faster then ICE vehicles. The pace has slowed mostly due to poor CCS charging infrastructure, and wisely Ford and GM and most all others will now be switching to Tesla(NACS/J3400) allowing charging to be done on the Tesla supercharger network, which works flawless and is plentiful. This alone has made many potential buyers hold and wait, i am one of those people. Many want to get their non tesla vehicle with the J3400 port natively on their new EV, and that will start in 2025. Resale on EVs actually is better on all EVs when compared to ICE. F150 lightning had several big price increases, and that has more to do with resale drops right now. And this is why i stayed away until now, since the pricing now is more on par with ICE trucks, and if kept long term the resale would likely be better then ICE truck. And then add in all the savings on maintenance and fuel/oil ect. As for hydrogen, that is a joke IMO. We will never see that built out across the country. Japanese manufacturers don't want to sell EVs as they make all their money on hybrids, Hydrogen is a niche segment that will never be realized on scale, i have researched that for awhile. Right now Tesla is the king of EVs and they keep lowering their prices as they are the ONLY EV maker who is actually making a profit on each vehicle. All others have to lower their price point to compete with Tesla, and many are losing millions due to this. No matter how you feel about EVs, they will be our future very soon, ICE vehicles already cost more in overall ownership right now, the companies pulling back will be further behind IMO, and the companies forging ahead, even at a loss will be ahead by 2030. Korean EVs and Tesla right now seem to be the ones doing this, and I think Toyota, Honda and other Japanese manufacturers will be deeper in debt by then if they don't come out with some solid EVs tech soon. All the info is out there, just alot of MIS-info out there unfortunately. cheers!

  • @rockerdan
    @rockerdan4 ай бұрын

    I agree and have heard this type of thing MANY times. I think initially a ton of "truck guys" wanted to go with an EV truck to simply cut down on the poor MPG, most all combustion pickups get. And when these EV trucks first came out, the talk was all about how quick/fast they were with big HP and torque. But when guys started to test them towing, they quickly got a bad rap for not being able to tow any long distance. So for guys who tow, they were not happy! Anyone who has owned pickups should know how inefficient they are and should know when towing MPG typically can get cut in half. I know i have been getting under 20mpg fuel efficiency for many years, and not long ago was closer to 12mpg at best(Hemi). LOL. So I have always been wanting a truck to cut down my costs as a contractor. Guys just need to understand their own 'use case'. I along with a ton of contractors drive short distances within our city/region everyday. Many days we carry very little, and others we need to load the bed, but when doing this daily and only driving from as little as 20 miles total to maybe a max of 100 total, an EV truck works very very well. Not only are you cutting your fuel costs to 1/3 of gasoline, but you are also cutting your maintenance costs. From oil changes to brakes. And most of this type of driving is city driving which is the worst for gas MPG and brakes, while an EV gets way way longer range when city driving, and brakes are barely used as it's mostly all regenerative braking. These things just scratch the surface when it comes to the economics of an EV vs Combustion. And now with the pricing being on-par or sometimes lower than a combustion truck(Tax credits helping a lot) its really hard to not consider an EV. An EV truck is still inefficient due to the design and weight so it needs to carry a huge battery, which is the most costly part of any EV. So range is tough on the hwy unless you go to a much larger battery like GM is doing, which might be the best thing to do if you need the range. But for many hauling around all the weight and cost of a large battery when you may only use it a couple times a year doesn't make sense. Lots to consider for sure, but it all comes down to 'use case' really. Different needs for different truck owners. I could easily use my small cargo trailer and a Tesla model Y for everything i do and really save a ton of money, Smaller EVs are far more efficient than trucks that is for sure. Cheers!

    @@EYECOMEINPEACE Thanks very much for this! I have heard of one early build also that had a BMS issue, and Ford replaced battery and BMS and since then he has been running good. The one good thing about any EV is the battery and major electrical components(BMS ect) are all covered by a long warranty. In many cases 10 years/150,000 miles which is much higher then I would tend to keep it. As for the range, this one i am very fully aware of. When it comes to range we have a big disconnect between the general public and the EV savvy people who already drive EVs regularly. The disconnect is how EVs work in the real world. The EPA does a very poor job when showing range on the window sticker. They are not wrong with their range estimates, but they need to show more detail of how they achieve their range. The big disconnect is that EVs work sorta the opposite of how a combustion vehicle works when it comes to efficiency. I learned this about 12 years ago when I leased the first Prius Plug-In vehicle as a second car. They had blow out deals on them and figured i would try it. I quickly found out that in EV mode, they go forever in the city, while going faster they deplete quickly. Todays EVs have massive batteries in them compared to a plug-in hybrid battery size. And Tesla was the first to prove how far an EV can go and more importantly for someone like me who is a speed freak, how fast they can go! So, in city and mixed city driving, EV range will typically far EXCEED the EPA window sticker range. I know many guys who get 350-400 miles on a charge with their Platinum F150 Lightnings. They are doing this with typical city/mixed driving, having a lot of regen braking all day(also saving brake pad life). But when road tripping, this range will be FAR FAR less, since an EV will not regen much at all when driving at hwy speeds constantly. This is where people need to understand and should research their use case for an EV. I have been following the two biggest guru's in the EV world for many years now, Kyle Connor(Out of spec channel) and Tom Moloughney(Editor at Inside EVs and State of charge channel) do a podcast weekly and have a ton of in depth info on every EV out there. The Out of spec website now has detailed charts and graphs on most every EV. The biggest thing i pay attention to is their 70mph range test. These are the tests that most people need to understand when it come to roadtripping, as this is the actual range most will achieve when driving non stop hwy speeds as most do. I learned this when driving the Tesla quickly, and IMO its easy peasy, especially with the Tesla and their robust charging network. Sure you need to stop and charge but roadtripping is really fun, you pop in, add about 15 mins of charge while you hit the bathroom and snack, and on your way. My first roadtrip in the Tesla was what got me much more interested in all EVs, cause it was so simple. So the total range is not really super important, a balance of range and charger infrastructure is the most important. Charging speeds come into play more then range, so you can replenish quickly and be back on road. Battery tech is advancing so fast, charge speeds on a Hyundai Ioniq5 are super fast, and battery pricing has dropped 70% over the last few years, its all happening super fast. Definitely not here to sell anyone on EVs, But i have always been someone who loves performance, loves cars/trucks and owned a ton of cool vehicles over my lifetime so far. And i have always been a tech nerd and loved to try anything on the bleeding edge what is coming next. Anyone who is like me should demo any EV, they really are impressive for raw bottom end grunt. Once I drove the tesla for a month or so, and when i got back into my truck, it felt like going back to the stone ages, this is when i started to think about how much mechanics is happening with a combustion vehicle overall. So much to go wrong, Far less in an EV, i think of them more like a computer on wheels. And the best software usually means the best EV experience. Tesla certainly does it very well at a very low price point. Trucks have their challenges as an EV for sure, but that is mostly because they are still very inefficient vehicles, just like a gas truck, they are nowhere near as efficient as a gas car. A brick going down road at hwy speeds will be very inefficient! So for guys who want to tow or long range hwy driving in a EV truck, you better be sure to be able to use the tesla charge network! For city driving they work really well. Truck guys who tow should certainly wait for the RAMCHARGER or REV(big battery) or check out the Silverado EV which was just tested by Kyle Conner on out of spec channel, The Silverado comes with a huge battery(180kwh or 214kWh) which went 430 miles at hwy speeds! The only issue with huge batteries is weight, and price will be much higher. So the options are out there. Cheers!

What about the cold, cold days and most importantly your sled won't fit in the back it's 5 foot box. Your ram has a 6-4 box I think . Just my thoughts but I can appreciate your interest in it. Love all those outlets and that giant trunk for tools and stuff . Cheers

    I hear ya. I have been researching EVs for quite some time now, and guys really need to know their 'use case' before jumping to EV. For many they simply won't work well, but for many they can do a great job. We know for towing long distances, EV trucks at this time don't do well. The new Silverado with 218KWH(usable) battery and possibly the new RAM REV will be best for towing long distances, since they will both have monster sized batteries and if towing where the superchargers are plentiful(many areas across USA) they will be very usable. I think the RAMCHARGER will likely be king of EV towing though for sure, when it comes out in 2026 they are saying. But for guys like me, who might only tow twice a year, im fine with that and would plan accordingly for the range loss when towing, and towing in the city day to day within my typical 30-90 mile round trips that would also be fine and easily done. But my days i dont even town locally at all. I only tow my sled a couple times per year to my cottage, but locally working I only do my basic 20 to 90 max days, which are all easily done even with this small(98kWh) f150 lightning. I would love to get the larger 130kWh lightning but that price point is quite abit higher. So for my 'use case' this lightning works well. My bud who is also a contractor uses his 5.5' bed for his 137" skidoo and fits fine, just a few more inches of track off the tailgate but he has never had any issues. As a matter of fact he loves the crew cabs best as he can put a lot more tools into cab, I have never had a crew cab and when i see how much more room he has inside his cab it does make sense, since all long lumber or ladders ect i usually will put on my racks anyway. When it comes down to it, the cost savings over 5 years is significant when compared to a combustion truck. For 99% of drives the lightning works fine, this was something i did not consider seriously until the recent announcement of being able to now use the Tesla supercharger network. When i got the tesla model 3 last summer, i really learned how great the tesla is to roadtrip and now the lightning will be able to have that same roadtrip experience. And the big thing is just how much i have come to love the instant snap and power of the EV vs my gasser. Always loved big performance my entire life and been a speed freak since i was little, and the EV instant torque and big power makes it very hard to go back and drive a gas vehicle. So even if the huge savings were not there, i would still want one just for the pure performance. Still shopping around and am in no hurry, I like the idea of waiting for the 2025 models with NACS/J3400 charge port coming natively on most all the 2025 brands, so they will all charge on tesla network without any adapter. Cheers!

    I know your a person that thinks things through. I'll be watching to see what you decide. I understand how difficult picking a truck can be I just got rid of my gas hungry 07 tundra and bought a 22 Ram with the v-6. That was a hard decision but the Ram had everything I need and the price was right. I do miss my Tundra but the ram is so much better on gas and it does all I need it to do as well as fit my sled in the back ! The ford crew cab is awesome , all that room for tools ! @@MBTUE Hey Mark! LOL, yeah my OCD really gets going when it comes to new vehicle time, sometimes it's even worse then sled buying season! I just can't go buy something without really weighing all the different scenarios. Funny you mention Ram V6. I have owned a ton of Rams, since early 90s pretty much. And they were all V8s and Hemis. I had several mini trucks like Toyotas ect in the 80s prior, so going to the Hemis i really took a big hit on MPG. So in 2016 I stepped down to the Pentastar V6 Ram as it has a great reputation, and sure enough i cut my fuel costs down a good amount. I think I went from 12.5MPG avg to 22MPG avg now. Since i rarely tow and when i do its my small 6x10 cargo trailer, so it does just fine. Sure its not quick but i tend to drive it like an old man most the time anyway. I had a ton of fun cars when younger, and bikes to fill my need for speed, so having a truck is fine but certainly more for work then fun to drive. So the f150 lightning sorta fills that niche because it can be driven harder and faster without gulping down the fuel like my gasser does if i whale on the right pedal. But all in all, if I go with a EV truck, I will be waiting at least til the '24 lighting comes out, as it has some changes we are hearing, and the '25 in about a year from now should come with j3400 plug outlet(Tesla type) natively, which would be great not needing the adapter. But today i just got back from another Demo drive. And i have actually been kicking around the idea of getting a Tesla Model Y and using my small trailer for days i need to do bigger installs at work, and would be using it for my sled as well. When you compare efficiency of lightning to model Y there are substantial savings obviously, and man the teslas sure are a blast to drive. So for now i'm just having fun test driving EVs! Look for a new video from today soon! Cheers brother! Dan

I have always needed more bed space and never been concerned with passengers as my back seats are folded up and never used and just loaded with tools back there. My one bud has always done the opposite with short beds and crew cabs, and he loads his back with tool as well, but has a lot more room inside crew cab. Good to know if i go to a shorter bed. @rockerdan Any sled content out there is good, Dan. I liked the tour of your Lake. Looks like a beauty area and spot you have. Yes, you should have come over. The trails were pretty good considering. Luckily we have a lot of forest access roads this way, and we don't need as much snow as over by you to get rolling. But wow we had a ton of traffic. Comp is my favorite Doo so far. Doo nailed this one. Much lighter steering and more playfull than our Machs. The last weekend we road we got out the Mach, Boost and Comp and had a head to head. Traction being equal they are all pretty much dead even. The best I have seen from my Mach and Comp are 119 GPS. Not bad from a modern suspended sled. Our old triples still go by though lol!! Still nothing better than sledding!

    @@jasonfreake9020 I think that was why I made this(lame) video! It was such a bad season and i really was not able to make many videos at all this season, so i figured what the heck may as well have at least something to end my ride season with. Better then no video at all. LOL. I hear ya, the lakes around the area here are similar to your area. Super gorgeous areas to ride and its never lost on me how lucky I am to be able to spend so much time in Muskoka riding, and summers are incredible too! I wish we had more access roads on our trails but most(especially my local HGR club) are bush trails which do take a ton of snow and work to get into shape, they are awesome when good but with low snow they are hard to even get open. The other thing i always take note of when driving eastward through the park is the rise in elevation. I sit around 1000ft at my lake but heading east it rises closer to 1600ft i notice and that difference makes many of our "mixed rain" snowfalls be pure snowfalls. And less melting with slightly lower temps too. I will definitely be sure to get over your was next season. The one ride we did on the family day weekend video around Dwight/Dorset area, i had planned to head to Whitney that morning but when we woke up we were getting pounded with heavy snow all day so we ended up having great trails locally. Ahh thanks so much for top speed info! I was really wondering how the 850r turbo would work! I had heard the Poo Boost was faster on top a couple times, and wondered how our Machs would do. I have rode Danos 850NA G5 MxZ 129 and man that thing is nice, the 2s is so flickable and light in the nose and that instant "snap" of the throttle makes it so playful, there really is nothing like the 2s snap! The 900r 4s is a really nice unit overall, but that instant snap is just different, i find the mach more fun and pulls hard once you are running down trail about 30+ and whack it, but not as fun down at very bottom. I do like it much better then my Winder(stock for stock) as the Winder was even less snappy down at bottom, but the winder got cured bigtime with a tune and made it super snappy. Overall I think the Mach(or any 900r) may be the best overall "long term" sled to own. I used to say my Apex was and i kept my Apex like 7 seasons, and yet that sled had several issues that i needed to take care of for longevity. With these 900r Doos they seem to be really solid, and we certainly aren't very easy on them! lol. Have a great summer brother. Cheers!

I just assumed we would have plenty of more winter and better riding conditions after that. But man i kick myself later as the winter never really got much better. I saw many guys went that weekend at looked darn nice, so i really regret cancelling that! Yeah im a tech nerd with the GPS stuff. LOL. In Ontario TraKmaps stopped selling/updating their SD cards for the OFSC trails on the Garmin GPS. So my SD card will no longer be updated on my Garmin. I still love the Garmin alot so i will always keep that(top speed/elevation ect), but wanted a connected trail mapping setup so I could see any trail changes in mapping along with live conditions updates. Using an APP for these live updates for me was a way to get live mapping, and I had been using the BRP GO and Go Snowmobiling Ontario APP for awhile on my phone already. So I wanted to try to get a bigger screen for these APPS, and decided to try to use my iPad Mini on the Glove Box Extension. In the end, i really love it and it worked flawlessly! Another great one Dan. Have to say you and I have the same riding style..gettin' that ski lift..lol. Yeah, back in the day, in our 20's we'd have a bunch of riders, out there day and night..last one across the lake buys first round..lol. Trails looked sweet today. Thanks for taking us along..Cheers..

    Great Video Dan. An odd season this year for sure. Let's hope for at least a couple more rides. Its finally nice to see your face. Tim Drouin retired groomer from ASC. kzread.info/dron/e37Pxv1nq03wdIvLUQsQuQ.html

    Dan did you ever own or ride a newer polaris. the lesters always brag about the front handling of the poos over the doos

    Dano my buddy had a 2019 Assault which was a lot of fun to ride. I did ride another buds 650 XCR a couple times and that thing rips hard. Best thing i like about POO is they actually transfer. We ride tight trails and nothing makes a sled more fun and feel lighter then when you can blip the front skis off knolls! Doo IMO made their sleds feel heavier when they went to Rmo X rear with the longer arm, which took away almost all the transfer, especially on the 4s gade models. I messed around with mine a fair bit to get some transfer but still not as fun as a POO with the way those sleds can blip off the knolls. Im more in the 4s lane these days and POO doesnt have a high power 4s yet. Also DOO just has always been more refined overall. I have never had any issue with the DOO front end, and the rMo rear suspension eats big junk so well, i think the XRS is the best overall sled to pound moguls on a sunday afternoon. Cheers!

    Lester’s are hacks. The father is just OK at this point - the kids still riding daddy’s coattails. The reality is the crappy videos do not go in depth and they like and say whatever the mfr wants them too.

    @@RotaxXS While i don't disagree with you, especially on certain points, I still try to find the positive on any of the sled shows. But i agree the bigger shows are more beholden to the Mfr and dont tend to bring up all the sled shortcomings. Case in point is all the driveline issues on the Winder and Cat 998s. Seems like noone ever mentions those issues, while TY forums were loaded with these issues for a few yrs, i wrote many of them! But i get how things work, and i know many dont like ST.

    Agree, we got lucky with snow a couple times, but will be shortlived again as it's 46f here now and melting fast. Might be last ride here! It looks look far east Qc. has the best riding this winter for snowfall. Ours here is melting fast, and likely wont be heading northward as they are melting down too. Bummer of a winter!

    Hi, I've been watching your videos for a couple of yrs now. You look like your about my age, I've been sledding since 1976. My first sled was a '72 Ski-doo 440 Nordic. lol I retired from the sport back in 2013 due to health reasons but I'm able to ride again and after watching & riding along with you, I might just do that. I've got a cottage just outside of Dorset & it would be nice to ride with you sometime next year. The quality of your videos are great. Keep it up !

    Wow thank you SO MUCH! I know when I took a winter off from riding(pandemic year) a couple seasons ago, i found myself watching a ton of sled videos! It really helped me to take the edge off. We certainly aren't getting any younger and i feel very lucky to still be able to ride like I did when i was a kid. Rippin it makes me feel 18 again for sure. Always have the need for speed since a was little and that is not going away! Sleds have come a long way since the early days, now riding a couple hundred miles a day is quite common. Keep me posted we are always around the area! Cheers!
