I just got released from the hospital in St. Helena California after having a Vats mini maze. I wish I had paid the $14k American and gone to Japan to have Dr. o do it. I couldn't wait a whole year for Dr. Wolf. My surgery was Thursday morning and after it I went through hell. The nurse, Jill kept insisting on giving me Laudanum push button instead of Morphine which I have had before and I know works on me. It didn't even slightly dull the pain. I writhed in pain all night with her telling me to "just push the button" . Then she'd tell me I pushed the button too often and locked it out. The next day I told a doctor about it and he ran off to "take care of that problem". From then I was given morphine and I was fine. Another man in the hospital who had the same operation done the same day said he was in horrible pain that night, and that he has had other heart surgery that didn't hurt nearly as much. He too was shocked that it hurt so much. If I had it to do over, I would not have done it. I spent 2 1/2 more days in bed before I could walk. This is just a warning to you all to work it out ahead of time that they will change pain meds if one doesn't work and will keep you out of pain like everyone on this site says they did. I would rather live with Afib. I wish I had tried losing more weight before trying this. I'm 5'7" and 169 lbs which isn't huge but maybe 20 more lbs would have helped. I sure as hell wouldn't have done this. If you are going to Dr. Dunnington, be sure to ask if you can have Pierre as your nurse. He was amazing, and just his attitude and kindness made me feel so much better.

Don't let Gan talk you into any heart maze surgery, or any procedure. Go to Stanford and don't let Gan destroy your family. Gan talked my 69 year old mother into it and she died from complications following the surgery at 69. My mom told me she was having the surgery at 69 so she could live into her 80's or 90's. I begged her not to do it but she said Gan was amazing, and that it would be ok, less than 1% chance of dying, I looked at the brochure he gave her that said that and still have it. Now she's gone. She's died from complications from the surgery Gan did. I can't believe Gan Dunnington still has his medical license, just sweep it under the rug and keep making money. Minimally evasive, what BS. False advertising at the least. I remember visiting my mom at St. Helena Hospital the day after the surgery and she was crying saying that she made a mistake, that it hurt so bad and she wished she never did it. Gan had told her it would be minimally evasive, which she found out was a total lie. She was in massive pain after the surgery, had a fever and Gan told her that was part of the healing process, a total lie. I could tell the nurse knew something was massively wrong as when I asked her why my mom was in so much pain she said she had given her a ton of pain helping (my mom would rarely take a Tylenol and had no tolerance to pain medication so it was unusual), and the nurse didn't a have a good answer but she looked as if she had seen a ghost - it was my mom about to pass away early and I didn't know it. Gan told my mom she had less than 1% chance of dying he said, now she's gone leaving a huge gap in our family, six grandchildren that don't have an amazing grandmother any more. Our family will never be the same. Our medical system is broken and Gan is the reason. Profits over peoples lives, unbelievable. You killed my mom and you don't even care "I don't know that I did anything wrong" - Gan - she's dead because of your botched surgery - how do you live with yourself? Hopefully I save someone by posting this as St. Helena Hospital wants to just sweep it under the rug. Insult to injury was saying it would cost us $15k for an autopsy which my mom wouldn't have wanted which is apparently outrageous and likely to try to get us to not do it and just cover this up not that money was a factor but wow. Gan is truly a terrible human being, they should take his medical license and put him behind bars.

Hey I have thyroid problems since I was in my twenties. I had Graves’ disease when I was younger. I used to see an endocrinologist. I need help to find another specialist. I think that I need to have my TSH checked out again. I have some of the symptoms of thyroid problems. I had a goiter when I was younger. I just moved to a new place and I need to find a new Endocrinologist. Thanks again for your information and time explaining to me that the thyroid is really important. I never realized that the thyroid was that important.

We just returned home from the successful Vat Maze surgery that Dr. Dunnington performed on my husband and he's recovering beautifully. I enjoyed watching the video as it's exactly as it purports to be and it was an enjoyable experience, both from my husband's perspective and from mine. This is a 5 Star facility. The staff, friendliness, food, and just general feeling of well-being that surrounds you in this facility is priceless.

This is suppose to be the St. Helena Adventist (Seventh Day Adventist Church) Hospital. The medicine they perform is not the "Health Message" given to the SDA church; by Jesus Christ through prophetess Ellen G. White. This is many example of the GCSDA schools, colleges, nursing homes, and their churches apostasy. However former GC President said that the "Health Message" had been thrown on the "Trash Heap". meaning it was abandoned. Adventist worship their denomination and not Jesus Christ!
