Excellent, Thank you
It is poor practice to have someone or yourself step into a knotted loop. Also, it would be better had you shown the other knots budding ML's need to know.
Nice video. I was looking for the paddle float - found it (Palm Paddle Float Red). That said, I might try that by simply ziptying a float bag to my paddle temporarily...
Brilliant Video, very clear and easy to follow.
Great attitude Ailsa. As a type 1 for 16 years now, I definitely agree that there are very few things we can't do. It just takes more planning and awareness plus more spare food than most people carry. I'm a Freestyle Libre user and the ability to scan for a blood result has made so much difference to blood glucose level management. Pricking fingers in the mud, mountains or on the water was always a big problem for me. Good luck with your career in the outdoors.
Parfait aussi pour se remuscler/ .. thank-you for this tip
Best video ever.. Thank you
Many thanks for wonderful video, very clear, well presented and easy to visualise in actual practice. Am prepping for ML training and this presents the necessary in a way that removes any confusion. Straightforward and kept simple, always the best way. :-)
👍
I have watched the Erik Jackson videos on rolling and his way looks more intuitive and does not get in the way of the paddle, he has his students lean back not forward when under water. He describes it as a hip snap. Any reasons why this method is different to yours? Erik Jackson has kayaking Olympic medals and his son is also a famous white water kayaker Dane Jackson. kzread.info/dash/bejne/anicpcWrqZOfhbA.html
This tip is perfect to prepare body and brain before applying Erik Jackson lesson.
This is good but there are tons of videos on how to do this. There don't seem to be any on how to clove hitch a sling onto a peg/spike one-handed. That would be super useful! Something I've come across a few times on trad climbs when a peg needs tying off, or a quarry/rock spike, etc. I've only ever been able to fumble something over the top or, at best, girth hitch a sling on. When the climbing gets pushy and you cant get hands off, is there a way to chuck a clove-hitched sling on?
Thats exactly what I am looking for
I did this on a PYB climbing course last week (climbing on Tremadog) and my instructor was well impressed.
Skeg down…thanks!
Excellent tips! Lots of new hints here.
Brilliant advices, thank you
Jeez, much prefer the woman doing it in the Blue Water rope clip. I keep doing Munters with your method. Sorry.
Besucht mich einfach!!!
In the real world I would like to take this class. The ideas are clear & you get a chance to practice them in the pool
Your talking loud and the back ground music is drowning you out.WTF.I'llJust go look at someone elses video.
great video
Nice video Pete!
I'm re-learning my roll after back surgery. Always good to check in with PyB for rolling tips. I learned to roll at PyB way back in 1989 with the famous Pete Midwood. RIP!
Nice transitions
Great vid.
Looked gorgeous so many amazing spots near by 😵
Y'all make this look so easy. Wish I would have had this pool session training b4 I had hit the real water. Guess it takes practice n a good instructor.
Dumb question - how did he do the roll without a paddle?
good form. uses a strong hip movement using his hands in the water to push against, and a strong finish bringing his head up last and forward over the bow instead of trying to bring his full body weight directly over the side of the boat.
Oh, I so want to be there!
Priceless, a great promo clip for PyB.
Thanks Helen that's super useful! I suddenly have lots of spare time to practice ML ropework and catch up on theory etc! Hope you and everybody at PYB are all doing good. Olivia

Beautiful
Thank you!
This made me chuckle. Some serious summer ML conditions there. Awesome training though 😁 and everyone looked psyched for it 😀
Bonnet great video
NIce day for it.
As long as I don’t get stuck upside down like I did in the Ohio river idc how bad I look flipping I’m getting it back over
Can’t fault this film, superb!! 👍
Must have been 10 thousand tones heading down hill?
I absolutely hate mountains!
Really helpful, thanks for sharing!
Loved it! Great film, definitely coming for a visit soon!
A beautiful film. Well done all!
Thanks. All thanks to the hard work of Rob Johnson at http:/www.filmuphigh.com
Good to see my instance on an upright or leaning forward finish is backed up by you Pete. Although I did have a conversation with EJ about his video that showed a poor finish on the back deck.
EJ's roll is a much stronger roll
The pool side bit is really difficult :) and yes my roll is not textbook either!
dagger stratos?
Thanks to Aerialworx for putting together this neat film of our local trails.
