"Hello and Welcome" I am steven harper vw and this is my KZread channel, the channel focuses on vw corrado , vw Golf and Audi TT . Showing “ how to” diy and blogs of my time fixing theses cars. I'm just a normal guy who loves working on cars. I also live on a farm so expect the occasional farming video too
follow my videos and vlogs as I build my dream cars and modify them.

Hello, I'm from Brazil! I really liked the video.. Do you know where I can find to buy this same panel on any website?
Excellent video. You may have saved me a couple hundred dollars!
Best video I watched today cause it's just what I needed to know what I am going doing so I don't mess it up
Be ready to swear a lot . But it’s fantastic when it’s all fixed
Combine is giving a clean sample
Unfortunately I can hear my fuel pump priming, but nothing. At 137k miles I'm sure it's the pump as I can get it to start with a spray of fluid into the air intake
Did you try gently tapping to top of the pump with a hammer like I did ?
Has the fuel filter been ever changed ?
@@stevenharpervw I did, nothing. All fuses/relays checked etc. Car has been sitting a while too. No fault codes either, so 99% sure it's the pump. Great video by the way, will be my guide to replacing it 👍
@@stevenharpervw About 2 years ago and has done very little miles, but I do have another one as part to its service kit so may as well do it again
Thanks for the video. Just about to tackle my Corrado. Always nice to see how to do it before starting the job. I’m guessing yours was a non ABS car or you’ve done away with it?
It was ABS but I chopped the hole lot out and went non abs . Because it didn’t work at all
My gasket came with the required studs to be used with the one piece gasket. The gasket wasn't your problem, it was your studs.

Hi I have a 2002 passat just chat that original for broken one fan heater blower works AC shows on screen but fan doesn't spin does it have to be programed thank you.
Which fan isn’t working . The one at the front of the car or the hvac fan inside the car ? No I don’t think it needs to be programmed . Are the fuses all ok ?
@stevenharpervw yes all fuses relays even new resistor module coolant temperature gauge just stopped working when I changed broken climate control heater blower inside car works fine but not the electric fan in engine bay either with temperature or with AC.thank you for getting back to me appreciated
@@kenroper68 ok so the AC fan has its own fuse i think from memory it’s quite a big fuse . Check that fuse that it’s ok . And use a volt meter to check for 12v at the fuse. And at the plug where the fan is connected . I wonder do you have a bad negative -12v just check any brown wires and all wires on the battery too
@stevenharpervw thank you for you help appreciated
Hey man, how easy is this?
It’s ok if you are good at welding . It’s just time consuming to be honest . Make the panel up in one big go . And spot weld everything . Then use seam sealer to fill all the gaps and then paint . I think that is the best solution
Hi Steven. Great video. Where did you get the master cylinder?
Autodoc. Or mr.auto Google both of them . Hope you get it sorted 👍
My bracket is seized what can i do
Loads of wd40 and let it sit for 24 hrs and then gently hit/tap it back and forth to get to get it go move
If you dont have a welder. Deill it out starting will a small drill bit and working up to bigger bits. Jamb someting in the hole and free it up
reverse drillbits....
I don’t have any reverse drill bit but they do look like a great idea too
Yes I think you are right . You just got to release the tension and then get something in the hole to grab it
Is that bolt real necessary anyway.?
I was always told that bolt is used to hold the rotors on while the automobile went down the assembly line
@trainnerd3029 it’s to stop the disc / rotor moving when your putting the wheels on and yes it is needed .
@@stevenharpervw do you have an impact driver? It’s a very inexpensive tool and I’ve had outstanding results with it.
ABSOLUTELY. next time you do a brake change, don't install one and find out how much your tow truck bill and repairs will be.
all sorentos from the first serie have this problem. If you are lucky and move in time, you can save them, but rust ist the number one cause of death of these otherweise very strong cars.
Totally agree. They designed the sorento’s to allow water and mud it get in but not to get back out . And they just rot away
hate when these snap. don't have a welder yet :D
Welder is a must for any garage. Even a stick welder and just practice practice practice !!
I'm doing this on my Cabby right now, thanks 👍
How did you get on ?
Sharing this was just talking to a friend about using a late Cabrio (mk1) Master in his 83 GTI. (I’m in the USA for what that matters)
So I’m from Ireland and vw producing a car for the irish and uk market they just moved the steering column but kept the brake servo in the same place and used a rod to activate it. As there is no room behind the engine in right hand side of the car . I’m now running bigger brakes ( check out next video ) and I really need to upgrade the brake and servo plus mine was failing so it also made sense . Hope the video helps you and you can do the same . All parts are from a mk2 golf
Great upgrade, can make it little more grabby, locking on way easier when you get it back on the road you may require the thinner of the pads available as I did. 1st time putting on my 'race' wheels with R888's after driving to circuit i'd got a knocky noise on rotation - As it turned out there's little clearance for any balance weights 😂
Yeah it’s very very tight .
I see the Bosch cordless drill battery is no use the BMS card nice
Yes took me by surprise but I think it just monitors temp. But only on the original batters the new ones don’t
How Wire diagram please sir i like it no BMS card
Follow the video as the diagram
Im seeing rebuild kits for the body and circuit boards for realy cheap and 18650 batteries as well. I think i could build a brand new 12ah battery for a fraction of the cost of a new one from bosch. Has anyone tried this yet?
Cool idea. The C rating on the 18650 has to be good enough for drills and not laptops batteries . What I found hard was believing the labels 🏷 on the batteries . Paper never refused ink
How’s things the fuel pump in my one has 2 pipes at the top this has 1 any idea why or what’s the best route to sorting a pump it’s a 2001 Tt Quattro fuel pump is definitely fucked ✅ jist subscribed aswell watching from Ireland 🇮🇪 🍀
Well lad, If it has only one pipe at the top it’s for a 2 wheel drive car like a golf etc . If it has two pipes it’s for the Quattro . I got my new pump from “top part” in kilkenny but also saw them on autodoc and car-parts.ie if you get it on the road come to the cork VAGE show at the end of July
Thank you for showing how to do this
Your welcome . It might not be the “right way “ but it’s the only way I could see how to do it . I think the right way is to remove the front bumper and then remove the headlights front the car . Which seems to be a bit crazy. I know it’s a bit more pokey my way but at least the bumper didn’t have to come off
@@stevenharpervw I had heard that was the way to get the headlight out but not sure about the bulbs. I actually managed it without removing the third bolt on the light but needed someone to shed a bit of light on the situation on how to get started at least. Many thanks, glad I found your channel and will enjoy watching your TT playlist. Half tempted to have a go at me pads and breaks now 😆
Mk5 Golf 2.0L TSFI 2008 similar fuel pump runs spot on in my quattro audi tt mk1 bam225
That’s fantastic info to have . And it has the aux port too ? (For the saddle fuel tank )
Another easy way to lube and free up resistance on the motor is really simple. Disengage the transmission for the wing (bow tie) as he stated. Then turn on the ignition and use the dash switch to run it in both directions for about 2 minutes each. I found even when new, I had a problem after about 20K miles. This fixed and corrected the resistance. You can also lube the spoiler hose/pipe from the inside near the connection to the wing vs. taking it completely apart.
Yep lube always helps but now after 30+ years i say the rotator that the brushes rub against are full of carbon and just need to be cleaned out
Have you had any problems with miscanthus in the field up until harvest? Any bad years where the harvest has been negatively affected?
Rain I guess , but if it’s wet for the Miscanthus ground it’s wet for the barley, wheat and maize harvests too . Over all I’d have to say no. Only problem we did have is we have to go through one field to get to the next field where the Miscanthus is. And if the ground is wet we will leave soil damage in the first field. But it would be the same if we had maize or beet so we just see it like any other crop
This recommend at least 2 people to fix as a Deutz Fahr owner this is worst thing to fix
Totally agree
Hello boss do you happen to have the service and repair manual for the 535 telehandler just started my internship and the people here are a little selfish
No and it’s very difficult to get anything out of jcb even the main jcb dealer here struggles to find info from the main parent company
How are you doing boss do you have the service and repair manual for this machine
No
Gud job.
Thank you . It became very annoying, we never knew if the tractor would start or not . And embarrassingly it was a very easy fix ( once you knew how to fix )
Nice job! 💪
Thank you! Cheers! This has been on the to do list for a long time and I just didn’t know what was wrong with it . Same thing can happen to the vws and other cars over time too
Have you baled it all? I’m considering growing for bedding & biomass.
Bedded the cows on it this year . Very happy with it
@@stevenharpervw good to hear. What kind of baler are you using? I’ve heard people have struggled with some balers. Ideally I would like to use a standard small square/rectangle baler.
la bestiaaaa da best!, thanks helped a lot
I’m delighted it helped you .
Don't let your cat drink that radiator water! 😮
They tend to be a little bit wise and don’t drink rad water . But I have heard that bees go mad for green coolant, there is some sweetness to it. But when they drink it, the whole hive can get sick and die . Random fact of the day 😅
Bit of a long shot, but you hardly have the LHD parts still? I wanna do the opposite
Where are you based ?
@@stevenharpervw in Offaly
Yeah sure maybe we can swap the same parts Lhd for right hand drive
I’m in kk
I cant get the hazard light in any shop how do i modify it ??
I added a load of resisters till it stopped being obnoxiously bright . The light it’s self is just a led wired into the light bulb
Hey mate, mine 1.6 Mk4 AC works fine when driving, but when I need to stop, I have to switch to ECON mode in order to turn the compressor off because the car would stall otherwise. Normal idle with AC on should be 850 rpm, but mine idles at 650 with AC on, so I guess the ECU doesn't get the signal to rev up. How could I check that?
There are 2 sign wired to the ecu . I think one is just telling it some power will be lost due to the ac pump and the other wire is telling the ecu to rev up at idle . I’m guessing your wire is either broken or missing
The first wire might also tell ecu to turn on rad fans for ac condenser
@@stevenharpervw thanks for the response but i found the problem. It was the bad connection somewhere inside climatronic module that was responsible for sending the signal to the ECU to rev up the engine. All it took was a little smash and now it works perfectly haha
@@DusanStev996 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ah that’s great news😊 it always takes work to keep them on the road but also your enjoying your fun little rocket of a car. Happy motoring. What colour and specs is your TT
It's just a 180 but it's plenty enough power for me. It's desert green pearl. just starting to go on the front arches. It just there a bit dodgy in the wet as we found out just after we got it.😁
@@Hasdac driving it and enjoy it . Maybe buy some clear lacquer and when the car is spotless spray it down low where the paint is getting a bit old , to help save it . Don’t forget to mask off the other bits and the usual . Green must not be a popular colour as I don’t think I’ve ever seen a green TT . Seen a million of them in silver 😅
@@stevenharpervw if I had money I would get the body work sorted out. But even a quick blow over is thousands because of the labour involved. I can do basic maintenance. I'm not any gud at body work and the weather's unpredictable it seems to rain everyday here.
@@Hasdac oh tell me about it , in Ireland we could have a heatwave today and tomorrow have floods . The weather changes so much
@@stevenharpervw same here in Shropshire, its been a sunny warm day for once
Our 23 year old tt just went through another mot. Advisorys were a small oil leak, brake pipe rears and a rusty rear subframe, but we have spent alot on it. Brakes, cambelt bushes ect, another year of driving it like we stole it. In the dry that is 😁
Thanks for sharing, keep driving and enjoying it . I love my tt
@@stevenharpervw just developed a misfire and not ticking over properly. Got new coil packs and a camshaft position sensor on order. See what happens.
@@Hasdac1896 hope you get it sorted . Mine had a coil pack die on me . I was able to scan the car and swapped coil packs around and saw the fault swapped from one cylinder to the other so then I knew it was the coil pack and not the spark plug . When you go to release the coil pack push the electrical plug in , push down on the tab and then pull back
Hello, how to connect an installation for El Glass, I could not find anything anywhere
I think it might be the AuX plugs
@@stevenharpervw I can't find a diagram of the letters, where should I connect them, the car was with manual windows, but I'm trying to connect them, I bought a whole installation
@@georgigeorgiev8799 D3
@@georgigeorgiev8799 watch my video and pause it if you need help with the letters. The plugs are different colours it’s actually very easy to follow a1 and a2 are yellow and you can’t plug them into the wrong slot because they are different sizes
@@stevenharpervw Thank you for the answer, but the problem is that I am putting a whole installation for EL glass and EL mirrors, however, there are small single sockets that I don't know where to plug in
True barn find 👍 Looking good considering, I've always been a fan of Nugget Yellow Looking forward to more videos, big project, not sure on the wider rear wheels on rear but that's lot of work and for me the lines need to still be spot on
I want to run the borbet type A wheels and at 9&1/2 J I think it’s the only way I will be able to pull it off “ legally“
lol 666
Thanks 😊
I would break it ant worth it on a 16v 🤷🏻♂️ unless it has sentimental valve then yeah

Bright yellow for sure! So sure, I can make out the TDI, but where's all the plugin hybrid stuff? 🤔😁
Also, I think you're right as far as the color code being LK1B which is Nugget Yellow.
That’s the cheep diesel in the boot 😂😁 55mpg
Cool project, I'm excited to see what you do with it!
You and me both! Gave you a shoutout in the video . I really like the newer yellow colours
Man. That's a lot of work. I would clean up the interior and wiring and then finished the engine bay that way it drives nice and then do all the bodywork. Good thing that it still runs. Now I'm gonna go work on mine 🙃
The problem is I have too many projects or maybe not enough time 🤪
You make me want to go watch Pinkey Blinders!!!
I’m not joking someone else said that to me last week too 😂🤣😅😂😅😂 love it . Thank you
