This is a bit sad to watch now knowing the current situation of Ms. Ronstadt. Still, I marvel at this woman's talented voice. I greatly enjoyed Pirates of Penzance, as well. I remember the TV commentaries about Ms. Ronstadt's "operatic" voice while the Broadway show was playing. At the time when this was "fresh", I enjoyed it immensely. I still do, even with the tinge of sadness. I bought the CD, and the piano score of the album. Iconic!

Thank you for posting this wonderful Collection of Music! My brother played guitar, and managed to divert me from playin' my fiddle in orchestras enough to learn several new languages. Over half a century I've joined in folk, blues, pop, C&W, bluegrass, Scottish, Irish, and a bunch of hybrid/fusion performances along with straight up classical. (In rehearsal a conductor once corrected me, graciously, for a slide in Gershwin's "Summertime..." Sometimes one of those Clapton licks just slips in...) So many wonderful tunes here, Mr. Riddle's lush arrangements, and the intoxicating voice of Ms. Ronstadt. Yum.

I was in my early 30’s when Lush Life was released and being a Linda Ronstadt fan I just bought the album not understanding what it was. This was well before streaming and as there’s no “hits” on it I had not heard any of the music on the radio. I can still recall my initial confusion when I played it the first time but by the second song I was all in! Thanks to the algorithm for popping this into my feed as I relive the pleasure some 40 years on.
