Usually for me, the phrase _"changing bars at stupid o'clock in the morning"_ involves going to a different pub, not working on a bike 😜 Good job on the conversion, the new bars came up looking a treat. Hopefully they're just as comfortable as they are good-looking. TCRS 👍

What kind of bar did you choose? if you would install a more "upright, angled towards the rider" bar, would the cables be too short?

The bars were part of the ABM kit, there is a bit of wiggle room on the cables, if rerouted, you will need to reroute the clutch hose, and change front brake hose (top part) with most bars.

Your back , elbows and wrist will thank you later

Dominic Suzuki I never had any aches, had to change the riding position due to a blind spot in my peripheral vision.
