ZZ Plant Care Tips
Taking care of the ZZ plant starts with making sure this plant gets 5 to 8 hours of medium to high indirect light every day. This plant also hates to be overwatered so make sure not to overwater it. This plant in natural habitat is used to going through drought season so you have to try to replicate that inside your house. This means to water on average once every 3 to 4 weeks and let the plant completely dry out in between waterings.

I purchased my ZZ plant today not knowing what the heck it was and it turns out that both of us are low maintenance 🤣 we might just be best buds for life. We were meant for each other.

My 8 year old ZZ likes morning or late afternoon sun while 4 feet from the window.. Plus, I just got a Raven ZZ and we'll see if they need same or different lighting..

Overall, my ZZ looks healthy but there is a thick brown crust on the base of some leaves where they meet the stem. Is this a disease? Can I email a photo??

My in-law has huge ZZ growing on a tree stumps in scorching Trinidad sun......FULL SUN ALL DAY....granted it is a little yellow. It has thrived so much it has bunch of smaller plant all around it 😂😂 which I have been permitted to take home......houseplant my butt😂
There is a zz plant thriving in a cubicle in a building not even close to a window , bright green and new growth.

My zz did not grow at all 😔
I think I over watered mine...it's as big as a loveseat.
I got one as a gift.. I think I watered it too much and the stems have dark spots now.. I can’t believe I’m about to kill even the easiest plant to take care of…

Yes you only need to water it once a month and if you drench it with water you won’t have to water it again for the next 2 months.

Unless the spots are soft and mushy, do not worry. It is normal for older stems of ZZ to develope darker spots/ stripes.
