Fantastic video! One question. If I were to reframe and object using ‘go cross,’ how would I get the same coordinates if I shoot the same object on a different night?
@clearskiesastro1028

The easiest way is to save at least 1 image from your custom "GoCross" and leave it on the AAP, then next night just open it up in image management, there will be a "Goto" button on bottom right i believe, and it will slew to those exact coordinates for your new session.

Thank you so much for your ASIAIR videos, they’re fantastic. I don’t know if you can help with this, but let me give it a try. I’ve been trying to implement the mosaic on the new update. I’ve tried everything, I’m exhausted. I’m able to get the panes transferred into the plan mode but, typically I either get “select a target” (which I don’t understand since the target name is clearly listed in the box) or my imaging gets stuck on the same pane and not progressing to the second, third, etc. pane. I just did a firmware update…I know I’m missing something…..PLEASE if you’ve tried the mosaic mode, I would love for you to give me the precise sequence of how to get plan mode to work with the mosaic. Perhaps even break the process down to the most minute level. I’ve wasted three nights now, and I’ve tried every trial-and-error combo. Help!

I'm hoping for clear skies tomorrow night so will try and record something for you. I did a quick 4 panel mosaic a few weeks ago just to test it out and it worked fine for me. There's nothing really special you need to do. Make sure you're in PLAN mode and then enter Sky Atlas and find your target. Setup how many panels you want and then just hit the icon in bottom right to add it to the Plan. Exit out that window and go into your Plan settings and you'll see all the panels there. Setup each one with how many exposures and exp times etc....and then just start it.

If I physically rotate my scope for framing, is my polar alignment still valid, or should I repeat the alignment process?

Yes the PA will still be valid if you rotate the scope/camera afterwards assuming you don’t bump or move your mount doing so.

I just found your channel and I am interested in the ASIAIR Plus. I have one and I am pleased with it. However; our organization gives star parties monthly and I would like to show my DSOs on a big screen tv. My big screen is a dumb tv so it does not have much in the way of signal input other than HDMI. Is there a way of presenting the data from an Android tablet to the tv for all the people to see. It is tough when you have 10 people trying to look on a 10 inch screen. Is there help here for us?

You can cast your android device to the TV. I’ve done it on my 65” TV with my iPad. If the TV doesn’t have the ability to be cast to…you can always just buy a cheap chromecast for about $20-30. You literally just mirror your tablet screen to the TV. Chromecast works without Internet when casting from an Android 5.0 or later device. It is not possible to do it from Apple devices without internet though.
@screwyouyoutube5493 Жыл бұрын
The only thing that sucks, you cannot rename the FOV, nor can you save the location as a favorite to goto on separate nights. If you choose a different object there is no way to get the previous imaging session. Maybe ZWO will upgrade this to allow saving.

@clearskiesastro1028

A GOTO is pretty much required. You could manually move your mount/scope, take a pic, plate solve, and then the Sky Atlas would show your FoV frame. Would only really help you in manually trying to frame a target

For using skyatlas must you do first Polar alignment?
@clearskiesastro1028

If you want it to have accurate GOTO while in Sky Atlas then yes a decent PA would be needed, although if PA is not that good the ASIAIR will use plate solving to see where it is and can correct and center the object using that, it will just be more "off" on the initial slew, or might take a few extra tries to get there.

I have tried the Chromecast dongle, but either my ASIAIR Plus does not send out the correct signal, or the Android cannot connect to the dongle. I have good signal from the red box to my tablet, but that is as far as it goes. I installed Google Home on the Android tablet (a Chinese knockoff) and yet the dongle tried to connect the ASIAIR Plus but just kept searching without finding the WIFI signal from the little red box. If you know how to do this, please give me detailed instructions (step-by-step) so that I can get this right. Thanks for your info and time. ABA

I see the issue now of having to connect your device (phone or tablet) to the AAP WiFi and then to the Chromecast WiFi....this can't be done. I don't think you can get the AAP to connect to the Chromecast WiFi and then have your device connect to it as well and use it as a shared network. Give me a few days to play around with my chromecast and I'll try and see if there's a working solution to this. My other thought is bringing an actual travel router like the the TPlink WR-902AC which so many people used with their AAPro to extend the WiFi. I have one around here somewhere, I think that might be the ticket....connect the AAP/Chromecast/Tablet to this travel router WiFi network and hopefully they can all talk to each other and then you can cast to the TV.
