    Thanks for the inspiration to get up while watching this and do plyos, TT. I was absolutely not into it after doing what felt like an 11mi shuffling slog this morning. Thanks so much for your honesty about how your workouts have been going, but I'm sorry for the reasons have caused the dip. Here's to hoping that the next workout feels much, much better!

    HR monitor. Recently you seem to be using chest strap exclusively. Some time ago you gave the Tickr Fit armband a good review. Why have you soured on it? Not as accurate as the chest strap?

    The tacx trainer tyre is the best one I think. I have used the continental tyres and I prefer the blue tacx trainer tyre it’s more quiet and lasts very long time.

    So you think £199 for a fan is a lot of money but you have no problem paying the same amount of money for a desk? (updated UK prices) both of these are £199, yes the fan is expensive but are the guys from Wahoo on glue? How can they justify selling the desk for the same price?

  • @rcuadro
    @rcuadro5 жыл бұрын

    When using the desk, do you have adequate cooling? DC Rainmaker made a comment that, when using the desk, it provides adequate crotch cooling so he places it off to the side.

    I’ve had one for 6months or so and would argue that it’s way more critical for an indoor training setup than the Climb; by the sound of it the difference our setups is that I’ve synced the fan speed with my HR. So while you don’t get the “authentic feel of speed” it makes sure you’re being cooled down even when climbing Alpe du Zwift, and don’t freeze with overly high winds when warming up or cooling down. My main criticism with it is the lack of angle adjustability, and always need to prop up the front to get the full stream of air.

    Rainer Tenhunen Agree. I think it’s so useful it’s almost worth the $250. Very good fan. But the lack of angle adjusting is pretty lousy. Would be easy for them to fix this

    I have had one for 4 months and agree that it is for cooling based on HR, recreating speed is more of a gimmick. I use it in conjunction with 2 other fans. They give me a baseline cooling and as the effort goes up the headwind gives additional cooling into zone 3 and 4.

    Quick questions, because it seems like these would be more important than what other reviews have said on KZread (they seem to only address the automatic fan speed gimick, and not what I'm about to ask). So while it may be true that I can get a $99 fan, can you say how that would compare to the Wahoo Headwind? For instance, the Wahoo is stated to put out 30MPH winds, to my knowledge a $99 fan can't come close to that. For that reason alone, would it be worth getting the Wahoo Headwind in your opinion? Side question, it seems pretty quiet. Is it quieter than most fans even at high speed?

    Hardcaslte, I used to use some Honeywell tower fan intended to cool down a room while riding. I think the main difference is that the Headwind is better at concentrating the airflow to a rider (or a runner) who stays at roughly at one spot-almost like a beam of air , while a normal fan has been designed to cool down larger areas so the airflow is distributed to a larger area. I think a good comparison is that while the force of air from the honeywell is less it’s faster at cooling down my living room after a hot day than the headwind, but the headwind keeps me cooler during rides. They are both about as loud, but the Honeywell’s sound is less annoying than the Headwind’s; think of white noise + airflow vs. bit of plasticy resonance + airflow. The Headwind’s sound doesn’t bother me while riding because the Kickr also makes some noise, and I use noise isolating headphones while riding, but I prefer the Honeywell if I’m doing anything else.

    @@RainerTenhunen Actually I bought a Lasko Pro-Performance High Velocity fan and it works great. I'm guessing it's very similar to how the Wahoo Heasdwind blows, it's like a 15-20mph direct wind right at you when you're on your bike. I love it! www.homedepot.com/p/Lasko-Pro-Performance-Pivoting-Utility-Fan-U15610/303006917
