Zwift Race | Reported Mid Race!! | SISU Race 7

Lol at this whole race. So SISU is a team based event and i a few riders took objection to the group riding and offering a wheel to a couple of individuals who were in the running for the GC.
This was a catty Cat C and im here for it.

    I've never paid attention to the race I'm entering. I just join any random event then try hold on for dear life and just try beat whoever I'm left with near the end. I didn't even know there were team tactics at play. Now I'm aware of such a thing I might have to go find me some GMT Zwift buddies.

    I watch the channel all the time. Always good commentary. I was looking for a race in this time slot and noticed a bigish field so looked in and noticed you in it. I thought perfect, I get commentary on something I'm in (rodja dodja). You're right it was peculiar. Someone even asked Taylor Zwift to sing. I felt a little guilty for sitting in but my 20 minute power isn't the best so I depend on it. Like you I'm near my limit throughout so I just react to pace as best I can. I know you comment in other videos to try and spice it up and I always find myself agreeing with that but I never get around to trying. I think Taylor Zwift did at one point and nobody joined. I checked the signup list and I thought it look strong. I'm only to happy to go as slow as you like till the last lap. Very entertaining. Keep them coming.

    Ha the Taylow Zwift comment made me laugh in the race. This still felt like a race, but i can see the point that if someone who is 95+ kg was only going to ride softly on a flat course then yeah, he would be helping pull other people around. I had a look at some of the times for other Sisu race 7's and i think we came up slower.

    I was in the 4PM UK time race which had a massive field of 120 riders for cat C. Some comments about pulling but it certainly not as 'chatty' as your race :) . It was fast! That long 3% cobbles section split the group on lap 2 or 3 and I ended up in the wrong half

    On the 3.8w/kg - was her ftp under the threshold? She could weigh nothing & have high w/kg but her power is under the cut off, & actually low raw power on a flatish course like that would be hard to hold the wheels all around - hence her high w/kg as she was probably on the limit the entire ride, even in the draft.

  • @thewattlife

    This makes total sense, but holding 3.8 w/kg for 44 mins... surely that means on a hilly course you would destroy most Cat C riders?! Still great work to hold onto a group where there are 90+ kg men

    I’ve joined these GC series races before & it’s hard because they usually have various time slots per stage to accommodate the schedule of most people. So you are at the mercy of the group that joins for your stage time slot. If it’s a strong group they’ll set a strong pace which someone could sit on the back of & cruise to a GC time. If u get a weaker field or just a field out for a spin of the legs, you can actually put in a stronger effort out front on your own but lose big GC time. So you need everyone in your stage to essentially work together to beat the time of another group in a different time slot of the same stage. Plenty messages go out during these races about setting a good GC as that’s the whole point. The stage win is practically null. Many will have the finish times of other groups so a target is set. Can’t see any issue with anyone asking for a high pace in GC races 🤷‍♂️

  • @thewattlife

    @thewattlife

    11 ай бұрын

    Yeah same, its definitely a bit of a different style to the race, knowing that you need the whole front group to ride hard. First time riding with the Sisu lot, would probably happily try get a little team together for the next series. Like you said the issue is that if you get a slow race it can ruin your GC and you'll have to try go again

    I've always wondered about category enforced races. I'm not one for racing on Zwift, but verrrrrrry occasionally I'll join a race if it's a course I want to ride. The problem is, I'm not always joining it to "race," per se. It really tends to anger people almost inexplicably when someone with that little "A" next to their user name says in chat that they're there for a ride and not planning to race that day. If I'm sitting in with a group of B's and rolling at 250 watts, it's not "sandbagging"; I just don't have the option to select the pace I'm going to ride at in some of these events and Zwift's 90 day rolling power profile knows if I just did 4.5 w/kg for 20 minutes in a workout the day before.

    When ever I see events like this if their not events setup by wtrl its just a make shift team thing where they try to get best combined times. A true WTRL event you have a DS in your ear course record an more race game plans go into it. Its just a community race you might have some decent riders in but a WTRL event if your doing it right on the TT or any event your are on the limit from go. God the TT I did last season with my team I about puked at the end of it loved it because their was nothing left. Hate the sprint races its pure survival for me just trying to make each selection. Can’t say I’ve been in a situation like this, but I have been involved in races where there has been sandbaggers in it. All I can say is the riders who actively participate in races as sandbaggers really need to get a life. It’s supposed to be fun, hard fun , but fun none the less. Zwift have tried to eradicate this but some still get through.

    I will let Catwoman have her say about the real reason about this. Clearly, I was supporting her in the race because she was going for a top spot in GC in a ladies GC. She raced every race on her own merit and no help from a 96kg guy. Who kept bringing Leanne back to the leading bunch.

I was a long time ahead until a particular male rider and friends of 95 kilos start helping those 2 woman you are referring to in your video, not a good referral at the end you should have done maybe some more home work ( and how can you tell it was them putting out 3.8 wkg you had it wrong at the end of your video as well) before passing judgement. Anyway to make a long story short, that male rider is NOT part of there team but from the team of Gordon (aaah that’s why he commented, because otherwise there would not be a reason lol) he has been aiding them with draft, they are then talking and on the companion app saying ‘would that be enough for you to get GC?’ And oooh thx for your support and draft ‘ Wel sr. I did everything on my own merit and was beating them until chubby and friends came and aided them, so you tell me if that is fair racing? If you believe it is then that is very short sided off but if you think I have a valid point you can always contact me and I’ll give you all the screenshot you need.
