I wonder why a plant this size uses mobile wood chippers instead of a (probably les fragile and faster) integrated wood chipping solution? Very interesting video, thanks for sharing!

Hello! The plant is in a timber production factory, they normally use Woodchip coming from the forest. In the video case, the logs are chipped as their quality is not good enough for production. This does not happens on a regular base, an integrated solution will be hard to justify. Regarding production, you need a really big electric chippers to have the same capabilities of our chippers. Thanks!
What is the purpose of the smaller wheels at the front and rear?

Hello Mark! The front and rear small wheels come down when you go over 20km per hour. The Albach can go in the highway at 80km per hour and the two axles are just to have a better weight distribution. Also because it weighs more or less 33 tons and you need 4 axle for the German rules

Hello, thanks for the input. It is partially right but you don’t have the same elasticity of this machine. We have a Vermeer HG6000 and you always need to move the chipper and then the excavator. Also, the normal chippers could do produce Woodchip bigger than G50, we produce G100 with the Albach and it is extremely appreciated.
Warum haben Heizwerke dieser Dimension keine Brennkesseln wo ganze Stämme ohne die Energieintensieve Zerkleinerung eingeheizt werden können.

Weil die erhaltene Energie aus einem gehäckseltem Stamm um einiges höher ist als würde man ganze Stämme heizen

Hallo! Das Holz wurde geschält, um es in die Produktion zu schicken. Wegen der schlechten Holzqualität, vor allem bei den Fasern, werden diese Stämme für Energiezwecke beiseite gelegt.
