Yeah don't worry about criticizing figures, I'd prefer hearing the negatives over constant praising, it helps me make a decision. Also with the stupid pricing now? We have a right to be nitpicky with something thats pretty much entirely about aesthetic appearance. I think people take it personally cause they paid so much money and don't want to hear that they overpaid for a subpar product or admit the figure has flaws.

Yeah I really need to but my rooms and mess and I've been trying to move for months now so alot of my figures are in boxes right now

It was so surprising to see Flandre suddenly rise like that, i remember her being in stock for quite a while after release before she shot up (i‘m guessing partially bc remilia went up for po and ppl realized they wanted the set). My favorites from last year also included nia and flandre. But Alters Serizawa Asahi was the star of last year, i picked her up spontaneously and i was amazed at how gorgeous she turned out.

Season 2 is honestly gonna be insane. So happy they finally announced it

I got the Marine figure, and it is by far my favorite figure I own. I don't normally get to buy big expensive figures, so this one was a treat for myself. Worth every penny. Also got Noel sitting on a life preserver and splash. It was almost a hundred bucks less, but still very good.

Nia could've have been #1 if they didn't make her so unnecessarily bulky but she's still beautiful. I'm glad you convinced me to pull the trigger on MX, even if I should have held out a big longer for the price it is now.

I appreciated your take on the Tiger figure. It's so rare for any figure to be ✨️PERFECT✨️ and I prefer when people are realistic about that fact. If you had glossed over the aspects of the figure you disliked, then your review wouldn't have been genuine.

The items I look forward to the most this year are a bunch of re-issues for Made In Abyss. Plushies, Nendoroids and hopefully the scale of Prushka and Nanachi and I wanted for a long time... But as for pre-orders? P.O.P (Portrait Of Pirates) Gear 5 Luffy, Zero Two red bunny figure with stockings by FREEing and Kemono X Bunny GirlL Marigold 1\7 scale which I am WAY too eager for.

One of these days I'm gonna add a one piece figure to the collection lol

My top 5 from 2023 would be: Toga from Spirttale Mirko from FREEing Marin swimsuit from Aniplex Marin school uniform from Aniplex Kurumi from eStream I'd say the first three are really great, the next two are only good (well, the eStream is mostly due to price, it would be "great" if it didn't cost so much) The not so favorite is defintely Yor from FuRyu. But there just isn't an all rounder assassin suit Yor. This I do think have the best body/cloth sculp. The PUP seems to have a better face. All the others are just worse than those two. Then there is Mito from FREEing. It's not bad persay, the sculp is actually great. But... why blue. I'm usually not one for alterations but this one... Honestly, I don't know who's worse. FuRyu who is just a bit incompetent due to their rush to expand into all corner of the market. Or FREEing, who we know can do better but actively choose not to all the time. And finally, 1/2.5 Kurumi. Got it because I'm a die hard Kurumi fanboy, but definitely not worth the pirce for such a simple figure.

Honestly true. Flawless figure

It is important for figure reviews to include both praises and criticisms. They serve to highlight the appeals and detractions of each product - from the reviewer's perspective. If reviews focused on only the good, presentation elements aside, all reviews will be very similar or even identical, which IMHO, defeats their purpose and their appeal. ^_- Anyway, my figure purchases in 2023 largely revolve around franchises I am intimately familiar with, mainly Hololive, Persona, Xenoblade and Hastune Miku, from product lines I love, namely Nendoroids, figma, and scales by Good Smile Company and MegaHouse. If I had to pick my favourites, Xenoblade's Nia 1/7th scale by Good Smile Company and Hololive's Houshou Marine 1/7th scale by Max Factory easily top the list. With that said, Nia is a contentious love for me, for the same reasons you stated in this video. She is lovely and her production quality is super high. But she ... takes up so much space. I wish Good Smile Company provided us with an alternative right hand without her blade. Believe it or not, I am posing her without it at the moment (^_^;;;). Marine is nearly perfect. I just wish her buttocks are not dented. I understand the effect they are going for, but... is it wrong that I want to admire them in their pristine, unaltered glory? Rounding out my top 3 is Persona 5 Royal's Noir & Morgana Car by MegaHouse. From a production quality standpoint, Lucrea line of scales aren't comparable to figures by other premium manufacturers, but something about these figures really speak to me. I can't wait for MegaHouse to announce Ann. Honorable mentions go to the Traveller twins by Kotobukiya for similar reason. They are just so nice to look at, easy to pose together, and don't break my wallet. My favourite Nendoroids are Snow Miku: Serene Winter Ver. (bad box design though) and Hololive's Hoshimachi Suisei and Amelia Watson. Their paint jobs are wonderfully detailed and are a ton of fun to pose. As always, thank you for the fun video!

It just comes with the territory of KZread reviews I think. You just know that you're a few mean words away from enraging parts of your audience so ya gotta be careful about it. Taiga's super popular and so are Bunnies so Its not unexpected, but hey at least I didnt get as many comments yelling at me as compared to my Guts Pop Up Parade video just because I called it a "figure". I still dont get that one lol

I missed out on the Steins;Gate figure and aftermarket prices are expensive. Whenever I redo my S;G display, I might splurge for it.

Flanchan as #1 is deserved. While I culled most of my touhou figures in favor of Eva, I feel like I would have otherwise bought alters scarlet sisters. I am not a big EoSD guy, Remilia is high up in my touhou sorter & alters remilia feels like a good representation of her demeanor. She has the eosd hand pose as a main parts option as well. Another aspect I am in love with is the rose window merged with a smaller stained glass window on this set. I personally believe the scarlet sisters to be from Europe (implied that they are based on the SDM, their names and clothes) Note I'm an architecture nut so it feels like alter remilia has everything I adore in one piece. I appreciate that you touched on the detail of flandres base being fake-damaged. I also have been more open to fanon interpretations of Flandre after many years of disliking them because of Touhouvania flandre and her new figure. I feel like touhou being a giant doujin community it's important to accept fan interpretations of things and it's odd of me to reject them just because she lacks appearances in canon. Also last year was a big year for flandre (internet survivor and being #1 on the popularity poll). She's grown on me!

Solely basing on the ones officially released in 2023, my list is as follows: 1. Azur Lane - Prinz Eugen - (Alter): Always a fan of her character ingame and the general intricacy of this figure. 2. THE iDOLM@STER: Shiny Colors - Serizawa Asahi - (Alter): Actually don't know the character but fond of the street-theme which reminds me of Tokyo. 3. Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka? - Kumoko - (Kadokawa/KDcolle): A fan of the series and like how they incorporated the hybrid concept. 4. Original - MX-chan - (Max Factory): It really felt like she was a mechanic. Of late and rarely, one of the figures that I immediately know I will PO from the prototype. 5. Girls' Frontline - OTs-14 - (FREEing): Unboxing the figure wow'ed me and I like the elegance. Honorable Mentions: 6. Olga Discordia (BINDing, Native) & Caroline Yuri - Tanned Bunny Ver. (BINDing, Native): I simply appreciate the figures being 're-released', which I otherwise would have never been able to afford* based on their original's aftermarket prices.

@@ZuccoFigures I can ascertain on the BIGness :D [Box dimensions = 38cm (Length), 32cm (Depth), 39 cm (Height)]. She is also plenty substantial herself - and although I like the circular spiral-effect surrounding her, it can feel a little empty at the space right infront of her but it is possible to fill in with some merchandise or nendo I suppose.

Don't feel bad about sharing your criticisms Zucco. Nothing is more boring in my eyes than a reviewer saying everything is amazing and perfect all the time. I ended up impulse buying that Marine on a crunchyroll "sale" lol I know better now but yeah that was a pretty penny for sure. 100% worth it though since it is one of my favorite pieces. I'd love to imagine Senchou at a meeting with executives demanding sexy poses and thicc thighs on her figure lmao

2:00 Hokusai’s is impractical because of the sashes (but gorgeous for a freebie servant; glad I didn’t have to roll honestly) but honestly I think a decent amount of gacha swimsuits are less for swimming and more for chilling on the beach. I don’t have a list of top 5 for my 2023 Figures (I’d say FGO’s Morgan, the 30th Anni Kirby Nendoroid, Sonic Nendoroid Reissue, and the Midoriya Izuku -Ishi- Bandai figure are up there though). However, I’d say Intelligent Systems’ Veronica is going to be in my top 5 for 2024. She’s gorgeous and 100% worth the price. I was worried they’d ruin the gold but they didn’t and I reorganized my shelf for her so she could be the centerpiece. 13:04 for that price you can say whatever you want honestly. I remember showing that video to a friend and saying that for the price you paid you shouldn’t have had so many issues and I stand by that statement. Same with the Dorodehoro one

Yeah I can't imagine many of these swimsuits working in water lol. Just funny to think about. I was gonna mention the Kirby Nendoroid in this video actually, but I felt like it was long enough(also kinda forgot). Kirby will always be one of the best Nendoroids ever regardless of what version it is

I would have less complaints if I paid 8k less lol, but yeah at least my bunny version was basically perfect in terms of quality control.

That Sekiro is so dope man, I played it last year and it was a blast. For me the top 5 figures I got were: Nanachi - Ques Q, Hitachi Mako 1/3.5 Scale - AliceGlint, Crow Armbrust DX - Kotobukiya, Fie Claussell - Kotobukiya, Altina Orion Nendoroid - Good Smile Keep the criticisms coming, makes analyzing figures and figure collecting as a whole more nuanced and interesting. I don't personally get the Freeing bunny hype, cause to me they are generally samey apart from their size. The way they re-release stuff is a turn off since it plays on your FOMO but then they redesign it slightly and slap a similar price tag. With the way prices are rising, not to mention painful shipping costs it is a let down when a figure doesn't turn out great. These days preordering is a hit or miss, depending on what it is. I can confidently say its pointless to preorder most Ryza figures now, they just seem to immediately bin. A similar story for most Ques Q figures, they seem to significantly drop in price. Yet for the figure line I collect which is mostly Falcom related, they always rise in the aftermarket and I see them at conventions for 2-3x the price I paid so I always secure preorders for those. I'm looking forward to how the Mio is going to turn out once you finally get it, but just from the pictures already its gonna be a banger.

The preowned/sales section of AmiAmi doesn't seem to stop growing either. It was annoying to see Nanachi figure get a 33% cut aftermarket after just a month since re-release. On the other hand having stuff on preorder gives you something to look forward to on that specific month but the prices are getting ridiculous now. Ngl I'm kinda second guessing every preorder these days.

So I bought 6 figures last year so I would probably rank them as follows: 1. Byleth (intelligent Systems) (Fire Emblem) But also my biggest figure regret as she tanked in the after market. 2. Kyoka (Good Smile) (Princess Connect) 3. Anya & Bond (Kotobukiya) (Spy X Family) 4. Optimus Bishojo (Kotobukiya) (Transformers) 5. Megatron Bishojo (Kotobukiya) (Transformers) 6. Bumblebee Bishojo (Kotobukiya) (Transformers) On Monday I have a figure being delivered which I would not be surprised if its my best of 2024, Aqua (Amakuni) (Bombergirl).

That's true, and I've used it before for Ebisu when I got one of her masks that was missing a piece, but considering the abundance of complaints I'm not really sure what they'd do for me if the figure is overall flawed

I had been thinking about selling a few of my Freeing figures. I don't have that many, only six but the Taiga and Ryuuko are the ones that impressed me the least. The extremely diverse color range and detail on some of the Danganronpa girls makes these look rather, I don't know. . lacking? But maybe that's my Danganronpa bias. Literally my only complaint about Junko is that they made her breasts smaller for some reason. This isn't horniness or anything, this is just factual. She should be bigger, but its whatever.

Taiga and Ryuuko are as basic as they get. I don't really mind it, though perhaps I'm just conditions to feel that way. The prices is what really gets me. Make a simple figure if you want, but price it accordingly. They certainly tried harder with the Danganronpa characters, though I think extremely diverse color range is giving them a bit too much credit lol

Last year, I received mostly Genshin figures. It's a bit hard to rank them since I liked all of them, so tiers would be more appropriate: 1. Mona Megistus (Wonderful Works), Keqing (Apex) 2. Barbara (Kotobukiya), Ganyu (Apex), Anya + Bond Forger (Kotobukiya)
