He was abandoned by his mother and sister, and was left with his father. His father was extremely abusive and buried him alive. Which is why he has fear of darkness.
I hope they explain how Hiyori saw him way ahead and also for some reason still remembers him after 2 days where she barely know anything about him. AND HOW IS SHE THE ONLY ONE WHO HAD HER SOUL SLIPPED.
