In the end, I had to buy Asus ROG 5, and C to HDMI converter, costing around 3K...Belkin brand...and use them both with Elgato HD60S. I ditched my OnePlus 6 and this Cable method...the app is buggy.

Ok I just got a similar device, unboxed it and attempted to connect to laptop without capture card. My main setup has the Elgato Capture Card. And laptop didn't detect anything. Is capture card really mandatory?
