hey everyone! 👋🏼 it’s been a minute but I’m back with a new keyboard build 😄
today we’re checking out our first full-size keyboard, the ZOOM98 from Meletrix 👀
please note this is the prototype here, so there will be some differences from the GB run version - namely, the dot RGB light above the arrow cluster will be replaced with the Meletrix telescope logo instead.
being a full-size layout keyboard, the ZOOM98 is a chonky boy for sure, but the heft and the curved side profile design is still quite pleasing to the eye. even though it’s long, the layout doesn’t feel clunky.
I’m very pleased with the resulting sound - again, being a pretty substantial keyboard, I was worried about potential hollow spots but there weren’t any - I used case foam in my build, and the sound has a mellow bass-y sound signature to it.
the Tri-Mode PCB option allows Bluetooth, 2.4G and wired connections, and also includes an ultra neat LCD screen module that defaults to a puppy that runs faster the faster you type 😍
the ZOOM98 starts at $179 and is a heck of a deal for a full-size keyboard with this level of quality and top-tier options - the GB runs until Oct 30 so don’t miss out if you’ve got your heart set on a custom full-size keyboard that won’t break the bank 😝
