Zoom H1 Essential Quick Test of Onboard Microphones

Here is a quick test I did of the onboard microphones of the Zoom H1 Essential I did while walking my dog.

    hi . this is my first field recorder do have any issues with noise in background? when i listen to the rec file the volume is toooo low . i must normalize it to ear something but get a lot of noise in background . pre- amp issues?? I also tried with different microphones but same result . the only solution is to remove the noise in post production and it's annoying

    Fieldrecording is all about optimizing your signal to noise ratio. It is important to try and get as close as possible to the source you are trying to capture and get a healthy signal. A recorder like this is meant for spot sound effects not ambiences unless you possibly use it with a pair of LOM microphones. Also try to master your sounds in a 32 bit session and then export them to 24bit. this will allow you to take advantage of the additional dynamic range that this recorder offers.
