    No problem! You could absolutely use this as a fallback position instead of the primary part of the base. It shall work in a multitude of ways!

    Great stuff as always. A construction idea I got from @Primate. Use 4 "Ramp Incline Filler" blocks rotated to make a square pillar. This square pillar will be four times a strong as a standard square block BUT is rotated 45 degrees from the square block orientation. It has a larger footprint and is a bit weird when building something on top of it.

    Make sure all fall traps like this are at least 11 blocks high. You will prevent the rage mode 98% of the time if the zombie hits the ground more than 11 blocks from you so build all the bases 11 high and there should be a lot less damage to the pillars compared to what you saw with this build.

    There is an end-table shape. You know those coffee table shapes that are 2m by 1m by 1m? Well cut it in half down the middle and you get the end-table shape. If you can get them to crawl under it, the legs of the table will keep them contained. And you may or may not observe stupid behavior once they get caught between the table legs

    Try the half plates. Place it at the top of the path liked a little "diving board", then on the other side make the path 1 higher and place the half plate there too. In the pathfinding the zombies will see it as a step up instead of a 1 block gap. They will run straight at the second plate and be falling before they realize they need to jump. Sometimes during Horde night one or two will make it over or break one of the plates, but that's why I make the path three wide and repeat the drop 3 times.

    would making the pit longer help with the damage mitigation? also would any traps be effective with this design i.e shock traps and darts or is this build not made with that in mind as researching what will be good in a 2 player co-op game

  • @pseudoposse

    @pseudoposse

    6 ай бұрын

    Making the pit deeper would probably help moreso than making it longer. You could absolutely incorporate electric traps into the build if you want some extra damage output. You could put some dart traps/electric fence combo in the pit and drop them into it. That would also help to mitigate damage in the pit region. I would not recommend putting fence posts on top as that would slow the flow of zombies running through the gap.

    Not nearly as simple as 3 electric wires across a parking garage ramp and 1500 rounds of 7.62. I've lasted an entire hoard night at gamestage 900+ like this.

  • @pseudoposse

    @pseudoposse

    On insane nightmare with 64 concurrent zombies, that will definitely require a TON of ammo if you are killing them all outright. Easier in the sense that you don't need to build a base but you definitely need to worry about ammo way more. Of course if you plan on playing till you've reached 900 GS, I'd imagine you have a healthy stockpile of ammo after a while assuming you are not burning through it in other ways. However, if you play with any mods that make the hordes way harder, that strategy won't work at all. But anyways, have fun Rambo style :)

    I hear a little pounding with some minor repairs needed in the morning but they all seem to move up it just fine. I make sure they have a good clear approach area, which the parking garage is great for. Its proven to be a great POI to build on.@@pseudoposse

    Don't build these bases. I never understand the idea of an AFK base... that is literally what I look forward to is the horde because the rest of the game is mind numbing at this point. Everyone wants to build ramps and elevated bases and then hopes that none of the zombies attack the bottom and break in or dig down or anything like that. I have a base design in my videos that works great. I have the ability to repair all of my traps, they can't get above me, they only try to come in one way, so they funnel nicely, and they have never once got stuck on the back, sides, or tried digging.

    @@tallgamerboyI didn't say boring, I said mundane. I have all the resources and ammo I could need, hitting POIs is a matter of walking in the open end loot room and killing half a dozen zombies as they funnel out. The gun range is pretty fun though, I like to run and gun around the place. I have been playing on nightmare mode for a while, so nothing really that special. They just run all the time and slightly faster.
